Good evening Brian. I am glad that you are very happy with the chipper. That was a lot of dust and chips that landed on the tractor, good old wind. It was a good idea to have placed the board before the panel screen to protect the reverse intake airflow. Happy chipping!

Very nice review, Brian. The hydraulic system is internal, it appears, since you stated it is 17 litres. It's not run off of the tractor hydros. Correct? I noticed early in the video that you placed the board on the tractor. Good idea. I never thought of the fine dust blowing on to the tractor.
Thanks! Yes it’s on it’s own hydraulic system. Makes it possible to run off just about any subcompact tractor. The amount of dust was a bit of a surprise. It just happened that the breeze was in just the right direction to help cause the issue. It is something that has to be watched for. It could be an issue if you didn’t do anything about it. Your dust problem is that the wood is dry. The chipper works good on the dry wood. If you have a lot of leaves you will have problems of it loading up in the feed compartment.
So far the only issue I’ve had is with cedar bark. Dry or not, it can still get clogged up. If I really want to grind up some of this smaller stuff, I also have a small 7hp chipper/grinder for that. Because I’m using this mostly out in the bush I don’t have much of a worry about the small stuff. So far, it has worked very nicely for my application. Thanks again for sharing!
That's a tad bigger than the Bosch electric garden chipper I use. 🙂 Having sad that, I put enough through it last year to make three cubic yards of chips. Saw an even bigger one on Bealy Good's channel yesterday - looked like it was eating stuff at least 12" across!
WOW! That's huge! Im going to go have a look at that. Yea, this chipper has a little on an electric one but thing that counts is that you machine produces chips. They are so useful. I've had a smaller 7hp chipper for quite some time and I've been using a lot of the chips for my walking trails. Now that worked very well, Brian. Good catch on the dust. That would overheat your tractor engine and then game over. Definitely worth the money. Your review was top notch.

This chipper is over rated. my chipper is a struggle. It works good if your wood is without leaves and twigs. Problems. the chute plugs up if you have leaves, Not enough force to blow them out at 2 thousand RPM. second big priblem is leaves and twigs wrap around the feed wheel, and plug it up. To stop this you have to reverse feed wheel all the time and remove them by hand. third problem is twigs wrap around the shaft of the feed wheel and come out side the compartment.
Because I leave my brush pile for one year plus before running it through the chipper I don’t really have problems with leaves. The main use for this chipper is getting rid of bigger limbs and small trees. The smaller stuff I just leave to compost down. Yea it is a small chipper for sure. Thanks for watching and commenting!

What HP is your tractor?
