Cost of homes are not the only drawback, interest rates a huge factor. Ours is less than 3%🤷❤️. Beg difference compared to today’s rates! Thanks uncle same & greedy lending org!
Thanks for the video, I always enjoy your info and input. One thing you might look into though, this video really has a compressed audio quality issue. The s's sh's in your voice sound really compressed and poor quality.
My daughter lives in Spirit Lake, Idaho and there are good and bad things about living there especially the weather. I hate the Summer heat and Winter Snow.
I currently live in WA and the political climate and laws have made it difficult to stay. I will relocate in retirement to a red state and ID is top of the list. Any con for ID is far outweighed by horrible WA politics
Living in Idaho was amazing. Particularly during COVID restrictions. But Idaho does have it's negatives. Biggest for me being state taxes. My dad died, and while I lived in Idaho, my sister's lived in WA. I had to pay $17,000 in taxes from that ordeal that my sisters simply didn't have to pay. That was an expensive price for a bit more freedom.
Nice video. You're obviously more conservative, as am I, and I can see some of those political opinions being reigned in hard. But I simply wanted to say that I think you made a great effort to be as agreeable as you can be to everyone, which is not always easy to do, so good job. You set a good example.
I was born in Spokane and have been to Coeur d'Alene a lot over my life. This video is a bit biased towards Coeur d'Alene. Both cities have pros and cons.
If Idaho is ever able to elect an actual conservative governor, house and senate, Coeur d’Alene and all of Idaho will be so much nicer than it is today…..Washington State is a political disaster of grand scale and The People are paying the price.
Washington was one time a really great state but the dominance of the Democrat party - which coincides with when the state adopted mail-in ballot voting (funny how those two things are a combined package) - has become a sh*tshow. And the politicians in office are all going all out to exceed California in becoming a third world, commie-style sh*thole. Idaho, whatever you do, don’t make the mistakes of Washington state
Oh yeah, because women having to flee to Washington to have birth and multiple Idaho hospitals having to close their labor and delivery wings sounds like a sign of political stability. As you say, "the people are paying the price."
If Washington is so terrible then why do more people live there? I live in CDA and I don't like that Mormons have such a large impact on our state politics, but really neither place is as bad as you make it out to be.
You’re a fascist in a cult, Washington is a wonderful, beautiful state. This fool’s “real estate” videos are his way of pushing his fascist white Christian Nationalist views, it’s disturbing.
Grew up in Idaho about 4 hours from CDA (and was also home schooled, hahah) - moved to Washington Spokane/Spokane Valley area. I feel Spokane/Valley is much more conservative and pro-gun, etc then the Seattle side, but still pretty liberal compared to Idaho. Currently, I'm not sure where I ultimately want to live (once work isn't the driving factor of my location), but I think Somewhere in the Liberty Lake/Post Falls area seems decent. I definitely want to get out of the Spokane/Valley area, or at least to the FAR outskirts of it - but I also don't want to go back to the deep country, like I grew up in...I just can't go back to a country town in the middle of nowhere, where our only option was dial-up or microwave internet. Small town sounds nice, but having grown up in one, it's not an experience I want to repeat.
Spokane used to be a beautiful, people based, town. I used to love going there. Now, with the druggies and the homeless taking over, it is no longer safe. It’s become just another dirty town. Cd’A on the other hand, although run by the Uber rich, still maintains its beauty and charm.
I used to live five blocks from downtown for 18 years and I worked on the clean team downtown sweeping the the sidewalks and emptying the trashcans. It wasn't nearly as bad as this guy is saying. And now when I go visit those same places, I must say they are actually nicer than they were before. Is it as clean as downtown CDA? No, but also keep in mind that CDA is a resort town for retirees and the wealthy.
I was born, raised, and lived in Spokane Valley for the first 26 years of my life. Then I got married and have been living in a new subdivision in North Idaho for 11 years. Spokane Valley has no similarities to the CDA/Post Falls/Hayden/Rathdrum area. I have seen a lot of change in this area. Mostly bad. But it's still one of the best, conservative places to live in the U.S.
I have lived in Spokane for 50 years and have relatives in CDA and Athol. Let's just say we agree to disagree. People, do your own research. Visit the locations and judge for yourself.
We love East Spokane Valley! We moved from South Dakota to be near the grandkids, so... still massive culture shock. We get gas and shop a lot in ID. Spokane leaders need to take lessons from CdA leaders... Spokane is messed up in so many ways... don't get me started.
Need to watch where you move for schools. I moved to Idaho from Washington back in high school. I was 1 to 4 years ahead of the rest of my class when I got here depending on subject. I met the graduation requirements for Idaho at the end of my 10th grade year. Also, Idaho is a putative father registry state. Father's don't exist as a thing under state law in Idaho. When a child is born in Idaho it only has a mother, a man has no inherent parental rights to their own child. The mother can sell your child into adoption and there's nothing you can do because the law does not recognize you exist as a thing as a father so cannot legally contest it. So if you already have a family move to Idaho. If you are wanting to start a family move to Washington. Living outside of city limits and being in zoned county area in Idaho is the way to go if you already have a family. Rural resources and tax deductions for rural development at the end of the day for me makes it come out ahead vs being in Washington.
Holy shit English is my second language and I’m confident my English skills far surpass whatever illiterate buffoonery I just tried to read that you spewed into this comment section for the world to see.
Classic, going where you aren’t wanted so you can complain that no one wants you and your crime rates and shit culture around. Professional victims/parasites. Luckily that part of Idaho seems expensive and rising so luckily they’ll economically bar you out from being there
Don't use this guy as your realtor. I made that mistake. He will assign the job to one of his underlings, who absolutely sucked. When I complained to Trent,he accused me of throwing his guy "under the bus" instead of addressing the problem and working with me. I quickly found another agent, Tawna Bebee out of coeur d'alene and she found me a great house
Your videos are really horrible as you’re constantly pushing your conservative political views and divide people with your “don’t come to Idaho if you’re not a die-hard fascist Republican” crap. I’m liberal and moving to Northern Idaho soon, and bringing my liberal family, and yes, it’s Northern Idaho, because I speak proper English, and couldn’t care less about your Christian Nationalist opinions.
Hi, thank you so much for watching my videos and commenting. It really helps to get my videos out to other people. Best of luck to you in moving to North Idaho.
I gotta say your videos which I watch occasionally has becoming increasingly right wing political stuff you try to cover it up some, but it’s really really true. You’re playing to a certain type of people and hoping to get them as clients that’s pretty much about it for your videos. You’re leaving out the bigger picture of the metro area. But again that’s what people do. You’re you are trying to get business, anybody thinking of the north Idaho area yeah it’s really pretty but it’s not what you think. As far as outdoor access, you completely missing the reality. I can explore the outdoor stuff my entire life and I got to say the north Idaho is being trashed by all the people moving in the Washington side is much cleaner and has much more open. Space what I see in Idaho SUV, motorcycles , massive amount of ammunition left on the ground all over on the back roads and never used to be this way. And actually no you don’t have to drive that far, in fact within 10 minutes. I can find probably 30 different trails and there’s rarely anybody on them. I’m also 20 minutes from a 14,000 acre Park so again listen this guy with a bit of suspicion. The fact that Spokane Valley last year was a number one place in the entire nation where People make $200,000 and above are moving to. And his comment about having to carry a gun because there’s people on the trails camping and stuff. This guy is paranoid and playing up the fear thing that you hear so much now. I’m on the trails nearly every day around Spokane area never a single problem. Coeur d’Alene area is being trashed as far as the outdoor quality. Pretty much everything he saying is trying to play into peoples perceptions and fears and playing into the political division that has plague the entire country, don’t buy into it. The things that you’re saying are so politically bent that it’s not even worth watching anymore. I have personally spoken with quite a few people who have moved the Coeur d’Alene region, which by the way is quite nice, but have decided to move because it is not the way it has been portrayed, especially by people who promote stuff in this video. Do your research look around the whole area.
It didn't surprise me that Spokane has a 95% property crime rate. Solving those types of crimes are last on their priority list. If it makes the list at all. I don't blame the police because they are understaffed and underappreciated. It's easy to say that we as a people need civilian oversight, when most don't know what it's like to go into a dark ally after an armed criminal. Get a grip people, you can't have it both ways. You want police protection, but you won't give them the tools to make it happen. Stop electing the wrong people. That's where it starts.
I lived in Spokane for 35 years and was a homeowner for 29 years, then moved out in 2015. I hope I never have to go back there. Spokane is "NOT" a good place to live! It was when I first moved there in 1980, but since then, it has slowly become a crime ridden city, and that includes corruption in all aspects of its government and law enforcement. One point this video was wrong about is corporal punishment; it's allowed in WA. Look it up for yourself...
I live in Spokane Valley and moved up here during pandemic. It was an eyeopener to see the difference in opinions where the state line is. Another bizarre thing is i can go to Post Falls walmart and use plastic bags but wlamart in Spokane valley requires purchased or reusuable bags. I prefer CDA because i can ride my bike there and leave unlocked with no worries. I wouldn't dare do that in Spokane. Im aware that Spokane is a major city compared to a resort town but safety and security is important to me I feel like im surrounded ny two political cults here. You got the woke left and the magas. It's all so bizzare.
There is one minor difference between Idaho and Washington state. Here in Idaho, they abolished the corpus delicti rule and replaced it with the trustworthiness standard for all crimes. So if you do a crime, you will lose 95 percent of the time, and yah even on appeal you will lose. That applies to Dui, sex cases, theft, murder, assault, ect...I not a fan of this because it gives our government more power over us. In Washington State most crimes they (prosecutors) have to prove the independent evidence of the corpus delicti except for sex crimes and baby deaths But i even seen people in Washington railroaded by the criminal system. So it goes both ways. tit for tat.
“So if you *commit a crime”(needed to correct your abhorrent grammar, absolutely mind numbing to know English is my second language and yet I’m still more proficient than you). All that aside, have you considered just not committing crimes? These rulings shouldn’t apply to you unless you’re a criminal
Move to Idaho. Welcome to high taxes. Talk to any accountant, taxes are through the roof. Definitely, do not setup up LLC/corp here. I live “by” CDA. My home $450k in 2019 is now $1.5 million. The assessed value tripled. Hello taxes. Oh, snow and long winters with super short shoulder seasons in Idaho. Better like that. The Homeless: most Idaho cities send their homeless to bigger cities to Spokane because they have the “infrastructure.” CDA is a mess when it comes to traffic. It’s getting worse with no infrastructure to expand. women’s health. OBGYN’s are leaving the state because the new laws are so unclear. Good luck getting a simple checkup laddies. If you’re pregnant and need monthly checkups, you’ll be driving and delivering your baby is Spokane soon. Public education absolutely sucks in Idaho. Better pay up for private school. The state subsidies only cover so much. Last, Spokane like any big city, has really nice areas. To get to the outdoors (mountain biking, hiking, off-road, fishing, hunting) is not that far away. This guy is absolutely biased. Also, this guy is obviously a licensed broker in Idaho getting that 3% off that $1 million+ dollar home.
Spokane was a great lil city way back in the day, Don't let CDA or any other place for that matter become like where I am in Central Oregon the Bend Redmond Sisters even Prineville area. Complete mess of traffic and roads not able to handle it, homeless everyplace and they are catering to them with places to park and converting motels. We have had our share of homeless brush and forest fires this year as well. Last election Deschutes county voted blue for the first time in decades because of all the cali folk barging in and voting for the policies they moved away from. Also seems ol joe placed about 8 to 10,000 illegals here strategicly starting around 2022 with many of them put up in brand new low income aprtments and none seem to speak much english, CDA still seems like gods country compared to Bend which used to be.
We definitely need more people here. I would like to see property taxes go up. This is the perfect place for new Americans. We need more government housing. Cheaper labor would be nice

Yeah, but like any other good changes that we the people voted in, the leftists are bringing lawfare to the fore.. King county😡 needs to change before WA is too far gone down the CA road
CDA is full so go to Spokane. Or preferably stay in California
😂 I was kinda thinking the same
How about medical care in both places?
Comparable. For emergency specialists they swap back and forth since they are next to each other. My mom had a bad accident in N. Idaho. They took her to Newport in Wa, then Spokane for surgery, then Coeur D'Alene for minor treatment, then a recovery place up in Sandpoint till she was released.
Can you still buy land for homesteading in Idaho?
Oh yeah, especially the further north you go. There are a lot of places to do that but there are some thing you have to watch out for. Feel free to reach out if you want to discuss those further. Explore@livinglifenorthidaho.com
What’s your take on Idaho sundown towns it’s big news today a local secret has been let out
I answered you on the other video you asked this...
@@LivingLifeNorthIdaho thank you sir I’ve noticed the locals have been handling this well it does look like a beautiful community and racism of any kind hurts everyone. Sometimes it may not even been folks from there. Unfortunately we hear so many voices now all claiming to be the truth. I’m from El Paso Texas and an outsider drove a days travel to our city to commit racial violence. I used to believe up until then that people where too sensitive or over reactive and it may be but it only takes one to make irreparable harm. Bravo for your vigilance sir and being head on!
Don’t know a lot about Spokane other than it’s part of WA. We love CDA area! Currently live in Hayden & live the access to shopping! Traffic is nothing compared to where we came from(I know). We live the atmosphere & will fight just as hard as “home grown” to keep this atmosphere. We too were priced out of housing until 2008 came around & then were able to buy & sell within 12-13 years to “afford” a home here in the PNW. Were we able to buy a house for cash, no but as retirees we were able to put a descent down payment to make our payments palatable.
Are living in tiny homes legal? Or even have community of tiny homes in Idaho.
Would the state of Idaho tax my Military Retirement or my State of Kansas retirement?
Yes and yes. But they don't tax social security. Washington does not have a state income tax.
Shouldn’t have had to pay anything if your father made a proper will. Just being honest.
So overall sounds like shitty i free state after all.
Nice video. You're obviously more conservative, as am I, and I can see some of those political opinions being reigned in hard. But I simply wanted to say that I think you made a great effort to be as agreeable as you can be to everyone, which is not always easy to do, so good job. You set a good example.
I appreciate that. Thank you for watching and leaving that feedback.
Love how you politely invite the ‘sketchier’ type of individual to live in Spokane. Thank you, appreciate that.
@@clarencesettle1931 Hmm. Tying to decipher if your comment is a compliment or sarcastic. It's hard to know on socal media sometimes.
I was born in Spokane and have been to Coeur d'Alene a lot over my life. This video is a bit biased towards Coeur d'Alene. Both cities have pros and cons.
Great video.....No Spokane for me!
is hiking really that bad in Spokane? 😳
Not at all, both areas have beautiful hiking and cycling areas. I go in both places.
No.
@@myself2nooneI’m Latter-day Saint, moving to CD’A soon but am progressive and fully support democracy and liberty for women.
Apartheid South Africa also had “beauty and charm”
Alcohol tax in WA that is not in ID
I was NEVER serious about moving here. I am only here because my dad lives here.
I work in one live in the other. The good way. Lower rent in CDA, but actual workers rights in Washington.
Snobs live in CDA
And Druggies live in Spokane
Most of which moved here from somewhere else.
@Doc1855 you got that right. Spokane is a 💩 hole.
You must be rich then because the inheritance tax is free up to 2,193,000 in Washington State.
Yeah that housing cost has been massively increased in just the last few years.
tys not happy brining more ppl here traffic so bad and most ppl dont know drive right, plus some kids iknow just got jump and end up in hosptal in cda
Holy shit English is my second language and I’m confident my English skills far surpass whatever illiterate buffoonery I just tried to read that you spewed into this comment section for the world to see.
I like freedom so NI it is
I’m gonna move There with all
My black friends it seems nice
Im gonna move to atlanta with all of my white friends! Wait, strike that.
@@CombatEngineer1987 why not? Atlanta is cool too.
Cda is a tourist town.
Im aware that Spokane is a major city compared to a resort town but safety and security is important to me
I feel like im surrounded ny two political cults here. You got the woke left and the magas. It's all so bizzare.
Heck they take homeless from Couer d'Alene and drop them off in Spokane. That's how official handled the homeless here.
CDA is hands down better, if you can afford it. Spokane is a working mans city, CDA is for retired folks.
They both suck 😂 the weather is terrible most of the year with no sunshine and the people suck in both !
Coeur d'Alene parking lots after winter (looking at you Walmart) are like WW1 battlefields with craters
This looks like an AI version of you.
Coeur d Alene. Come on vacation, leave on probation...
The Homeless: most Idaho cities send their homeless to bigger cities to Spokane because they have the “infrastructure.”
CDA is a mess when it comes to traffic.
Calling communist laws babysitting is the nicest way to put it possible 😂
Spokane is quickly becoming a city of Druggies
Spokane is a 💩 hole
STAY IN CALIFORNIA IDAHO DOESNT WANT YOU
Spokane was a great lil city way back in the day, Don't let CDA or any other place for that matter become like where I am in Central Oregon the Bend Redmond Sisters even Prineville area.
Don't move to Idaho we don't want you just visit and spend money
Spokane sounds stooge... CDL sounds awesome..
We definitely need more people here. I would like to see property taxes go up. This is the perfect place for new Americans. We need more government housing. Cheaper labor would be nice
