- RHONDA VINCENT WITH MULESKINNER BLUES
"Blue Yodel #8" (a.k.a. "Mule Skinner Blues", "Muleskinner Blues", and "Muleskinner's Blues") is a classic country song written by Jimmie Rodgers and George Vaughn. It was first recorded by Rodgers in 1930 and has been recorded by many artists since then, acquiring the de facto title "Mule Skinner Blues" after Rodgers named it "Blue Yodel #8" (one of his c). Some versions list "George Vaughn" as a co-author; the name is a pseudonym for Vaughn Horton, who wrote the new lyrics for Bill Monroe's "New Mule Skinner Blues" the second version recorded by Monroe.)
This is just about the best banjo performance I have ever heard. I saw a young Kenny Ingram back in 1977 when he was with Lester Flatt and the Nashville Grass. Just a fantastic right hand. RIP Mr. Ingram.
RIP Kenny Ingram. Absolutely Amazing
Kenny Ingram accompanied by Rhonda Vincent on vocals.
R.I.P. Big K, I’ve heard alt the Banjo greats, nobody can match that right hand. Thank you for all of the great music.
Kenny at his best. He drove that tune cause he liked it. RIPBud.

The Rage has it all. One of the best if not the best bluegrass band I know. Thanks for sharin awesome bluegrass.
Flat out - best version of this song ever - blows Dolly Parton's out of the water!
Dolly Parton can't touch this with a 10' pole and the father of bluegrass music, Bill Monroe.
Start your day with this for all-day happiness! Angelic.
a strong woman in my eyes one of the best band leaders, uncommon good musicians driven to provide the best.
WOW your beautiful voice an gorgeous songs are the bestest kind to hear drunk or stoned or sober pretty awesome nice to hear real music for a change keep up the good work girl u Rock
Awesome musicians. Right up there with The
Johnson Mountain Boys and Kentucky Thunder.
On Fire! Kenny Ingram rips it!
I'm 71. I play bass in a rock/blues band, a friend and I have written dozen songs, and we have another 14 or so Work In Progress. I first heard this song on radio in the mid-50-to-late 50s or early 60s, before I had started to play guitar, and I have loved it since, and I think it has been a major subliminal influence on my musical tastes.
Kenny Ingram is tearen it up on that banjer!!
Smokin' Is Right . . Steam comin' off the top of my computer ! Whewww !
Just awesome !
Doesn't' get any better..!!
Jim Owen Just Great what a voice .
no it does not
You should hear Sarah Evans cover of the song Pretty damn amazing
Kenny Ingram's banjo drives this song! Bill Monroe would be ecstatic... but would he would have only revealed a wry smile.
Heh, I think Bill might have said it doesn't need banjo. He considered it the least important instrument.
Rhonda is a vocal genius!
Listen to Sarah Evans cover of this pretty damn amazing
I have no idea what a "muleskinner" is but I love this song.
A mule skinner drives mules, to pull a wagon.
Also occasionally used for a truck driver in the modern world.
Just great my kind of music love it..
love Rhonda AND the rage
I would listen to my father YODEL a lot when I was growing up and I tired to do it a few times . He would tell me what and how to say old lady while tryign to draw it out! IT IS VERY HARD TO DO!

At about 1:10, it looks like somebody got in Hunter’s ear and told him to back off, this is Kenny’s song.

Aw shucks, Rhonda, that's not a real yodel! Do we care--hell no, you and your boys are flat out fantastic.

Superb
OMG! Dolly Parton look out! Love you both 😁
Look up Sarah Evans cover of this song Persian amazing
It is just me or does anyone feel like robbing a bank in a 1969 Dodge Charger?
With Rhonda in my front seat I'd do just about any damn thing she wanted me to....😘😍😋😎❤💍💋
Bill would be proud!
Well, blow me down if I didn't listen to this again. It then occurred to me that this might have all the trappings of the Scots-Irish roots of musical instrumentation and styling, but it is still in the format of the Blues, another tradition entirely. Such is the melting pot of America, long may it brew!
Now thats bluegrass!!
How is there not smoke coming off that banjo?
Great
Could that banjo player play any faster? Jeez, guy is amazing.
Back again! I'm pretty sure they have a pygmy back stage with a fire extinguisher, just in case that banjo catches fire!
top band but that Banjo player is something else
Rest in peace, Kenny Ingram.
They are ALL Kick Ass!
💗💗💗💗
My god what a voice!
My hair's on fire!
I recognize the Sheldon Concert Hall in St. Louis. A real gem, no place, not even the Ryman, has better acoustics, and a great band to prove it.
Look out Dolly! You got competition! Love you both
When are they coming to Southern California????!!!
how many coffee's does one have to drink before playing that fast?
