You have NO IDEA how much I love white-breasted waterhens. There's currently some outside our wall that only come out in the early morning and we raised one due to it being sperated from its parents, yes, it's back to the wild. You should mention what it looks like when it's just a hatchling, they're completely black top to bottom and small, but they still keep their iconic long legs. You should also mention their behavior with other birds. When ours got older it sometimes bows down and spread its wings with it's tail moving in an excitement expression with tiny sharp chirping. It's sad that this bird is really underrated and haven't been deeply researched more to learn it's breathtaking behavior. I love these birds to the death of me, I cried whenever I remember those days I get to take care of one 💝🖤🤍💝
@@apurvajha9495 since it's a wild animal, please do not teach them tricks or give them names that they'll be familiar with and try to make an environment for them to live in. Is this a baby? If so, keep them in a cage with the entrance open, keep them outside where you pick them up so the mother can find them. The mother usually comes out early in the morning, don't go too close and try to absorb the period of times when the mother search for the baby, this way, you'll know when to leave the baby out. Because the mother doesn't usually search or go out hunting at night. Yes, the baby can die if they can't stay warm. For food, try giving it one of those circle fish food, obviously soft them with clean edible water, do please look at the bag of what the fish food contains tho. If that doesn't work try and find a shop that sells bugs as food, not cooked one but raw dead ones, an alive one should also works. Choose a comfortable size that would fit the bird's mouth. If it's a teenage (they start to have white fur on them from their chin to their underbelly with sheared feather, signs of wings development) means that sooner (within a month or more) they'll be ready to go out on their own. Usually teenagers will leave their mother to hunt on their own, and they'll leave when they're ready. And no, there is no way to determent the bird's gender without another to compare, the only difference is size between the two gender.

Today two white headed chicks were found in our backyard. Her mom was not there. So we kept it safe. I really hope they will survive and grow.
