- A step-by-step tutorial about how to make a cheap semi-automatic airgun.
To buy the parts, search "QEV(quick exhaust vlave)" and "slide valve", make sure they have the same port size (1/8, 1/4, 1/2 etc...)

The finished gun looks bad, because I´m keeping the tutorial simple and I didn´t have much time, also because I´m not planing on keeping this "gun". It could be made a lot better and end up in a great looking/working gun.
THIS DESIGN IS BASIC TO ME, SO DON´T CALL ME STUPID.
I don´t use it, but it is good for beginners.

Yes that's correct :) usually the bottom of the QEV would be the input and the current input would only be the pilot valve (the activator) but the way he has it is much more efficient because it takes up less room and has one action for two events.

Without the blow forward valve, you will be shoting more than 1 bb at a time(double feed). A blowforward bolt separet one bb from the magazine first, then allows the air to pass and shot the bb.
it's not about to buy it dude, but to built it by your own. it is not the cost, but the satisfaction.

That is badass Wyz. Thanks for the video. A trigger and cocking mechanism can be easily devised to make this semi / fully automatic AND you can make pistols instead of just rifles because of its simplicity and small size. (400 + FPS is a nice bonus too)
As for your voice I couldn't care less if you have an accent. You are easily understandable so there was no real reason to apologize at the beginning of this video. (Trust me, I am terrible with accents, you speak just fine)

No it can not, poppet valve (sfaety valve) only allows full auto, and you need to make a littel modification on the QEV´s piston. The blow forward bolt it´s necessary for both semi/full auto, as soon as you want reliable feeding.
Awesomly "simple" project, but it does a great result. This is very badass Wyz! Keep it up!
@rcbowstring123 i had the same problem. try a barrel with a littlw "U" formed piece at the end, if you know what i mean. pressure will push the bbs trough but they wont fall out except if you keep holding the gun in a 90° angle
He is using HPA, but at low pressures. 8 Bar, where as guns with energies that would send a BB or pellet through a 2x4 are more along the lines of 200 Bar, or 250 Bar. Just for reference . . .
If he could scale up the pressure capability, it would increase the energies significantly.

should get a spring return slide valve so you don't have to do that annoying re-cocking every time
It may work, also may not work. How are you olaning to do that? remember the bolt pushs the bb first, then allows the air to pass.

No, the input air from the tank is blocked.
That´s the biggest problme of these slide valves and why I don´t use them, they are difficult to be mod to a real trigger. But a 3-way valve will solve the problem.

I dont understand why the bolt would slide forward if the air is traveling through it. is there sufficent presssure to both overcome the spring and fire the projectile?
why would the aire not just pass through? If the bolt isn't sliding forward it would still fire because the chamber and magazine are preasurized. To check unload magazine leaving the cap open dri fire and see if air escapes through the magazine hole.if so then the bolt isn"t sliding.
I'm a bit confused trying to look for the slide valve. I found one on ebay but the seller provide only size 'C' and 'D'. When asked, the seller only mentioned this; for Product C: 2x2x5cm/0.79x0.79x1.97inch and Product D: 3.5x3.5x6.5cm/1.38x1.38x2.56inch. Which one do I choose if my QEV has a 1/2 inch pilot port?

Does it have to be connected to the paintball tank & regulator?
200 psi it´s ok for a FE.
It may reach 500 fps if it´s well made.
a little modification to the piston, also a different pilot valve.

Can you possibly list the material you used in the reload mechanism and the blowback bolt. Also what size are the holes that you drill into the piece of the solid alluminum. this is a great video, if you can help me out that will be awesome
I'm confused about how the qev works.
Does the air from the paintball tank push the piston pressured by a spring in the qev?
I need to see the whole gun in a diagram to fully understand how the qev and slide valve works.
Once I know I will even make a sketchup model of it.

is the spring in the qev really needed? and did you have the spring going down to the bottom of the slide valve or did you put something to stop it there.

hey man I have 5bar pressure and want to fire tennis balls continuously, is it doable and do you have any calculations?
no pellets, no bb's, I just want a compressed air fly swatter to avoid exposure to bug spray... flies are horrible here. Not too much of a problem, four or five pumps of my Crosman air pistol blows them away, but it's all that pumping, and all the time between shots. I have a pcp compressor, now all I need is a semi auto AIR GUN with no projectiles and Im good.
That little waste of air you talked about when you pulled the slider valve back is needed is it to acuate the valve in the qev isn't it? I'm new to this just trying to figure it out

you dont have any plan what you talking about, and its so much nicer to shoot homemade guns than a bought gun! i think you are only disappointed because you dont can make guns like that ! wyz helps a lot of guys with his designs !

um no. the polar star uses a solenoid valve. it takes a battery and some electrical know-how. this little project is all mechanical.
one question where can i find the QEV and slide valve, an is the chamber is more bigger, the bullet is going to shoot better???
i find it more accurate with the book, most of them have the same thickness, but it can brake a wine bottle with a plastic bb from that chinese toys pistols with spring. i only have 2 bb's and i do not want to waste them....

I'm stuck on the blow forward bold design. I'm unclear as to how it really works and how to build it. what does the air push on to make the bolt go forward and block off the hole to the magazine?

could you replace the slide valve with a solenoid valve?
Do you have a video on the best parts used for a PCP gun?! Shooting @ 4000psi?! could you use the same pneumatic parts that you originally used? And have you experimented with the size of the air chamber? And using like scuba air tanks to fill your gun air storage at a very high psi, like 4,000psi? Also with all of this in mind, if you haven't already done it. Can you do a video with high psi, ball bearings instead of airsoft pellets and can you test fps, range and accuracy at different distances. With just what you have shown me in this video, I wish I had access to a metal lathe. I could make an of the charts air gun 😜

Does anybody know if you can get slide valves without the release part? I need a good (quick and easy) valve to use on the tank/chamber in my project and a slide valve would be perfect because it's quick and efficient space wise.
