We use NTU-E when only temperatures at inlet are given. But in the formula of effectiveness there is one unknown outlet temperature.So,how can we find effectiveness?
You can solve for it by finding Q'=m'c(T difference) for one of the fluids that you have the two temperatures for. Q' has to be the same for both, so now you know Q', and can use that to solve for the unknown temperature with T= T_known + Q'/(m'c)
