2:34 Day by Day 13:00 I mean you 31:57 Triste 42:00 Easy Walker 50:55 Cherokee .......... Drum - Ulysses Owens Jr. Piano - Christian Sands Bass - Christian McBride
This is now officially my favorite video of ALL TIME!!! Christian Mcbride killed it and so did the others. He's in my top favorite bass players. Now and forever
Maaaaaaaannnnnnn....I love the way they "e-nun-cia-ted" the punches on Easy Walker, exemplifying the "easy" as in eeeasy but not too greeeesy stipulation of Easy Walker!!! Loved it as well as everything else these superb cats expressed with panache and grace for an evening of superlative Jazz that hits me in the boo boo of satisfaction!!!
The first four songs are 1) "Day by Day", music by Axel Stordahl and Paul Weston, lyrics by Sammy Cahn. 2) "I Mean You" by Thelonious Monk. 3) "Triste" by Antonio Carlos Jobim. 4) "Easy Walker" by Dr. Billy Taylor.
2:34 Day by Day 3:39 piano solo 🎹 (Day by Day) 7:40 bass solo (Day by Day) 13:00 I mean you (Thelonious Monk) 31:57 Triste (Antônio Carlos Jobim) 42:00 Easy Walker 50:55 Cherokee 🥁 Ulysses Owens Jr. 🎹 Christian Sands whole performance (not just part 01)
+illuminati You think no one outside NY knew who Kenny Kirkland was? His 6 albums w/ Sting aside, he was on 29 jazz albums as a sideman. Plus he was w/ Branford on the Tonight Show. Regardless, what's that got to do w/ Christian Sands' place in jazz?
I detected Ahmad Jamal's arrangement of Cherokee with the waltz time feel of the bridge which is a wonderful contrast to the double feel of the rest of the tune! Liked what they did with Triste too!
It's hard to say that any artist is better than another, but when it comes to Christian McBride it's safe to say that he's better than most artist...and he's definitely better than most, if not all, jazz bass players.

Christian Sands, the present and the future of PIANO JAZZ !!!!
Eduardo Roxo Nobre Son, you didn't hear of Kenny Kirkland. true, he had few recordings, you had to be newyorker to know Kenny
***** or have listened to any of the Marsalis recordings

tecnica, creatività, improvvisazione strepitosa del contrabbassista Christian McBride: video piacevolissimo
The "Triste" version is the version done by Herbie Hancock, Ron Carter, Tony Williams for their Miles tribute recording..

Thanks, he is darn impressive and seems to be playing on everyone's CD that is recorded in NYC these days.
+ChristianMcBrideTV Thanks but I think it is indeed Ulysses Owens Jr. If I would have watched it to the very end, I would have heard. :)
