Even though Jenny was killed off, there really was nothing to be sad about. It was the LAST season AND she was STILL in all of it. Killed but still on screen. If she wants to know about sadness over a character dying, she needs to talk to Erin Daniels(Dana). Now SHE was done dirty---being killed 3 seasons in, on a popular show, that she wanted to stay on. Death is a tragic way to go for anyone, but Jenny died when the show died. I'd take that over what happened to Dana. They RUSHED her out of there. 1 episode she was diagnosed with cancer, 2 episodes later was dead. Dang.

well....I agree with you that Erin was done dirty but I think I'd rather be Erin than Mia. Dana was a beloved character and everyone celebrated Dana, and still do to this day. Ilene Chaiken has gone on record numerous times saying she regretted that decision. Poor Mia had to play a reviled character that had no redeeming arc-Jenny just got worse and worse and more sociopathic until she was basically a caricature of the original character and then killed off. Mia used to get cursed on the street when she would walk around to the point where people had her in tears and she'd have to say "You guys, I'm not Jenny, please don't say abusive things to me."

@@dr.pennington1664 I hear what you’re saying and you do bring up an interesting point. I was more so touching on steady employment for the entirety of the show vs public perception. I’d prefer the former. Killing off Dana’s character(and so quickly) made it seem like she brought less value to the show and was the forgettable one.

@@MsDivineBrown even though I’m still gutted to this day that they killed Dana off so quickly, there actually was a reason why they killed her off so fast.
I can’t remember where I read it (I’m sure you could find it online) but apparently Ilene wanted to make a point about how quickly breast cancer can kill - even physically fit and young women - and the importance of early detection and treatment (I can’t remember if the story was based on what happened to a friend of hers or not). What’s really cool though is that apparently after the cancer story arc and Dana’s death, there was a huge increase in women going to get mammography’s and breast checks because of how impactful it was and how much awareness it brought to the cause.
I’m not saying they couldn’t have stretched the story a couple of episodes more or done it slightly better, but it was still effective in executing Ilene’s idea, so I guess Dana’s death wasn’t completely in vain.

@@BellsGAfanTV Ahhh didn’t know that. I guess it kinda makes a little more sense. Yeah, they could’ve stretched it. A whole season would be like a quick death to the audience. Diagnosed in the beginning. Died at the end of the season. That works too.

the l word was an amazing show but the ending was so shitty and the writing was so fucking poor and then they tried to completely turned this random murder around in gen q and said she committed suicide?? --jenny excitedly went through all that trouble to make the 3 hour long tribute video for bette and tina and didnt even say anything to anyone, she randomly decided to drown herself in the pool in the middle of the party???!!!!!!! fuck no. we know the characters inside out, that just doesnt make sense. also, jenny wouldnt steal the negatives for the movie idk. pretty sure nikki stevens stole them and placed it in her attic- she knew jenny would be the first suspect(and she was) and she wanted her to get caught and get blamed for it. i wouldnt be shocked if nikki even killed her. i just know for a fact that jennifer shcecter did not kill herself.

In general, most actors or actresses do not like their characters dying on the screen, especially when they are among the main characters in the series. Did Mia Kirshner give her opinion on the death of the character of Jenny at the end of the series ?
