Welcome..👍we use Total Internal Reflection TIR concept in Serration glass..which helps the duty engineer to see an accurate water level from far..without going nearer to guage glass..check full video to understand..😊

There can be distortion , Surface aberrations with plain type Or Tube type gauge glass..
