36:46 - it's worth noting here that no matter how you want the chords aligned, they always show up in Galley View as "bottom" (the far right option). That should be changed!
Chord symbols editing video please! I was able to make my "maj7" default "ma7", but I am having trouble with the "add" extensions. I want C2, not Cadd2. I want C(4), not Cadd4. But I do want Cadd9. Etc. At the moment this seems impossible.
@dorico firstly i would say complete the basics in Writing mode vs. the 2 long videos you uploaded already . And maybe speak about Engraving mode, pros to get the purchased version vs. free one etc
I just purchased Dorico 5 and am transitioning from Finale. Can I use Dorico 5 to open my old files from Finale? I can no longer open the old Finale program to do it.
You need to export the files from Finale as musicxml files. Maybe reinstall Finale or ask a friend who has Finale to do the export for you? There is a batch export option in File > Export > Translate Folder to MusicXML
The biggest issue with Dorico chord notation is that MIDI input of chords only intermittently works-like every other day or on Wednesdays. It's very weird and annoying. Why hasn't this been fixed?
Hello.. Great vid. I am migrating from Finale and have purchased Doric Pro 5 crossgrade. I am still learning. How do I eliminate the 'impending clef change' notation. FYI, I am writing notes in Bass Clef and I want the staff to continue with notation but in Treble cleff. At the end of a system and prior to starting a new system, the 'impending clef change' thing shows up. I don't want this. How can I turn this off globally? Thanks!
It might depend on the context, but if you're talking about the notes themselves try selecting all the notes in the flow and use Write > Respell > Respell Notes Automatically
wow - all these options. I'm going to watch this again to get it all. It's fantastic.
I'll be watching it again
Thanks for the depth and density of your presentation. I really learn a lot quickly and rewind always works.

37:37 - "Edit Chord Symbol Appearance" individually and apply to the same chords in the score
Please share what tool you are using to display your keystrokes on the video as you work. Thanks!
In this video it's KeyCastr
Will Dorico ever have a native support for Roman numeral analysis? With so rich set of options as it has for chord symbols?
Maybe one day
Hi, is it possible to create alternate chord symbol ?
Thanks

Brillant ! I would be delighted if you could do more tutorials on Dorico for iPad
Yes, we should do some more. Any particular music style or focus that is of interest?

Is it just a single staff or a grand/piano staff? Normally you'd want to show the clef change clearly?
@@dorico Thanks for your reply. Single staff. I'm trying to write a lead sheet.
how do I delete a clef in dorico notation??
Generally you can select it (in Write mode) and press delete
Hi, I have Dorico, there no sound when I need to play after I wrote the notes score,
Can you advice me what to do
Check in Edit > Device Setup to make sure you have the correct driver and output chosen
How do you change enharmonic spellings...(ie..Cb to B)
It might depend on the context, but if you're talking about the notes themselves try selecting all the notes in the flow and use Write > Respell > Respell Notes Automatically
@@dorico Thank you.
having difficulty getting the chord symbols to play in playback
Did you click on the speaker icon in Play mode in the chord track?
