Bunnahabhain 12 is so incredible. I keep telling my "strictly bourbon" friends that they're missing out (every single person I've got to try it became an instant convert).
It's the Scotch that got me to really start exploring other whiskies.

Bruichladdich The Classic Laddie is also Islay and unpeated. It's very similar, comes in a cool bottle, and tastes great. Can't wait for you guys to try those Cask Strength Scotch pours.

I agree. It is easy to find in stores, and many bars and restaurants have it, so anyone who wants to try it should have the opportunity to do so. Bruichladdich also makes an excellent peated whisky that is easy to find and reasonably priced - Port Charlotte 10-year. I recently added a bottle to my collection, and I have been enjoying it.

Bunnahabhain 12 was one of the very first Scotches I tried when I began my whisky journey, and I found it to be awesome. I do like Bruichladdich even more, but as entry Scotch to introduce to others, Bunna 12 is right at the top of the list. Thanks for posting the video.

DAng nice! Bunna 12 CS is my FAVORITE whiskey, but I've oddly yet to try the regular. I will buy it next time. I have not problem finding the Bunna 12CS in December at Total Wines in the Northeast. Last year it was $95, and I see the regular 12 everywhere for $65-$70.

Though they list it at 80 proof. The cask strength is 110 but out of stock. As usual, great video. Maybe a show on non peated scotch’s? I am not a peat fan so a selfish request. Cheers.

Best $60 Single Malt Scotch on the planet. Done. Mic drop. This was the Scotch that changed my preference to Scotch over Bourbon. So many more flavors to explore in Scotch. The 18 is great but not worth almost 2.5x the price...the 2022 Cask strength is also phenomenal and roughly $90.

If only they were higher proof, that is all that is missing. 2 of the easiest sipping juice, I've ever had -- If someone doesn't like whiskey, let them try those 2. I discovered Bunnahabhain a few years ago when I tried the 18-year at a bar. I currently have a bottle in my collection. If you get a chance to try the 18-year, go for it. Like most 18-year Scotch whiskies, it is rather expensive, but I think it is worth it. I recently found the 12-year in a mini-bottle and gave it a try. It is good stuff, and it is readily available and a better value than the 18-year. I have been keeping an eye out for the cask strength version, and I will grab it if I see it, but I haven't found it yet. I do not enjoy engaging in the hunt for hard-to-find whisky, but a cask strength Bunnahabhain is something that I will put in some effort to find. After the 18-year runs down, I hope I will have a 12-year cask strength to replace it. The bar where I first tried the 18-year keeps it in stock, so I can always order it there if I want it in the future.
Bunnahabhain is natural color and non chill filtered. I look for this in Scotch; it makes a big difference. Scotland really needs to stop allowing added coloring in single malts - it serves no useful purpose. Chill filtration removes a lot of flavor and body from pot still whiskies and makes them seem rather watered down, but it allows them to remain crystal clear when they are bottled at less than 46% ABV and poured over ice, so the major producers love to use this process. Bunnahabhain 18 was my gateway into naturally presented Scotch, and I have since discovered many others. Now, it is hard to go back to the lower strength, heavily filtered ones that I used to like.

What’s interesting to me was that at least in Canada, over 5 years back, it felt like bourbon was the better value, more flavourful whisky for money over single malts in the 50 to 100 (Can) range. Somewhere along the line things have flipped back a bit and especially in the 80 to 100 range, there are a broader range of whisky experiences from Scotland and we see too much overpriced (though often tasty) bourbon.
Bunna is a classic representation of satisfying yet unusual whisky through and through.

If you want the 2022 Cask Strength a few of the Binny's stores have them. The stock is limited so you might want to check into it soon. It's listed at $89.99. It has somewhat of a Sherry finish and when you sip it you'll know there's spirit in it that has to be more than 12 years old.
