  • Open Stance or Closed Stance? (how, when and why) It's so important to use all 4 tennis stances because knowing how to use each stance and knowing when to use each particular stance plays a massive role in the foundation of your strokes. Having the wrong stance or doing the stance incorrectly creates a negative domino effect with a long list of problems in your performance. This list includes increased chance of injury, lack of balance and alignment, loss of control and power, slow recovery, poor weight transfer and lack of full body utilization. Having the correct stance and using the stances appropriately will completely mitigate all these issues. So many players and coaches think open stances are best or neutral stances are best. This thought is inaccurate and too broad. The truth is you need all four stances and based on the situation one of these four stances is the stance you need. In this video you will learn the 4 stances (closed stance, neutral stance, semi-open stance and open stance) you need when hitting forehands and backhands. I will show and explain how to do each stance in full speed and super slow motion and you will learn some pros and cons to each stance. Most importantly you will learn the #1 factor that determines what stance is correct for that particular ball. Footwork, positioning and balance are the single biggest fundamental for groundstrokes so your gonna wanna watch this! • How and When to do a S... • Volley Lesson: the 3 V... . • The Ultimate Fundament... #open stance #footwork #tennis stances
