Blankets were brilliant! So much cheaper than buying fabric. I sew and love using second hand clothing to make into new items because it is 100% cheaper. Blankets will stand up to wear and washing ❤️

The word that came to mind during your inside tour was...domestic. Each "room" looks like it came from a real house! Nice job, thanks for sharing.

Great share, these particular pop ups are on the heavy side. You have to keep the capacity of the tow vehicle in mind.

With the AC it needs to be vented, I would try at first at home turn it on and leave the side storage door open so it gets fresh air and so the hot exhaust air to escape, if this helps then you need to figure out how you want to vent it, many videos on UA-cam for this.
I would camp in cold weather with my 1997 Jayco pop-up camper and that heater works great keeping it around 70° inside when it was 20° outside. One thing I would do on my beds was place one of those heavy duty emergency blankets under the mattress with the silver side facing up, this will keep your body heat in the mattress, then in the warmer months flip it over so it helps keeping the heat from outside coming up from under the bed ends. I would also place a couple of blankets around the edge of the mattress where it meets the canvas in the cold weather it helps keep the drafts out
We used our pop-up mostly in the fall and winter time, we are in the Chicago area.
With the roof system you have, most people say they had problems with a RV AC installed with the roof started to crack from the weight of it, they weigh about 100lbs, so many would install a window AC unit and like I said many videos on UA-cam
We loved our pop-up, but as we got older we didn't want to keep setting it up and take it down, so now we have two vintage campers a Yellowstone camper and a Spartan camper and will never buy a newer camper again after seeing how these are built and how the newer ones are built, a night and day difference

The curtain tabs will slide out at the ends of the track. That way you wont break the tabs or slider. Nice find there in Conn.

Nice job. It looks great for show. 💁‍♀️
But my hubby and I have the thought that we are CAMPING! Yes, I made one quilt with coordinating pillowcases for it. Well, actually, for a teardrop that we outgrew before we ever got it finished. We acquired a bed-hogging basset hound since starting the teardrop, and now, she's a senior, and prefers the floor. And she piddles. Soooo, since there Was No floor in our former teardrop, we started looking at pop-ups, to keep our beds high and dry. And could tow with a vehicle we already have.
I enlarged the quilt (I had made already for the TD) last fall to reach over our queen air mattress for the tent. I recycled little curtains I made for the teardrop windows into pillowcases for travel sized "decorative pillows", that will be added to regular sized sleeping pillows, and will probably be the only "Fluff" in our camper. 😊
We'll have a Route 66 theme going on, and keep the wood cabinets original. There is a nice floor already. Can't wait to get it on the road, and opened up, with our hound watching over the sites in her "doghouse on wheels".😊

in 1989, my dad picked me, my 2 sisters, and our GS dog up, driving a Chevy pick up truck, with a camper top, towing a pop up-- June- we drove to Maine, stopping along Fla, NC, Sc, Va, Mass, Nh, and end up in Maine our Summah Camp - Best memories ever- although was hot sitting in the back of the Truck, camping along the way, in this was our greatest adventure- me and the dog slept in the Truck bed topper.. I hope you all make the wonderful memories as well. !!! post more future adventures of this "rolling fun house ! "

Great shape for the age. Had to chuckle a bit while your wife was channeling her inner Mrs BTBRV and not letting you show her face. LOL I thought she did an amazing job sewing all that stuff. Enjoy!

Your camper looks awesome and well kept for that age. I have a 1/2 ton P/U and next spring will be looking for a small bumper pull and now maybe a pop up, the square footage is amazing. Your wife also did a great job with the inside and really updated the look. KB9VBR has a sweet camper setup as well and enjoy his channel. Look forward to more of the camping videos in the future. Take care, KEOVNG 73

@@SevenFortyOne I'm thinking that is one feature we were wondering about when we looked at our unfinished teardrop in our garage, for years
Turns out, it only took a day to take it apart and make room for the pop we found in the next county over.
I think we are going to really appreciate the head room, and space to walk a tiny bit and not trip over our senior doorstop.😊

Thank you for your video! I just got one of this pop up’s. It’s a Coleman Fleetwood. Has been sitting on this hunting club for many years. Needs some love, a lots of love. But it’s promising, have great potential, and I’m making a video of the before and after. But I need your help, we’re can I find a serial number or VIN Number? I need that information to get plates and documents in order.

GET NEW TIRES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I only keep tires on my camper for 4 years now. 5 years if it is stored indoors away from sunlight. No exceptions. I learned the hard way. I totaled my first camper because the tire blew up and shredded the siding, decking, wheel well and cabinetry inside of my camper. Tires are a lot cheaper than having to get a new camper.

    • @wendywilson1736
      @wendywilson1736 3 роки тому

That is the pits. I will let my husband know about that. Luckily, we can store ours in our garage. But then, that puts our tow vehicle outside...🙄.

@@wendywilson1736 Dry rot is something you have to watch with any vehicle but a camper tire is more critical because it spins at a faster speed than the truck tires. Better safe than sorry.
