this is my first time watching a muslimah (with covering her self with hijab) in figure skating, I hope muslimah out there have chance and opportunities in exploring more sports activities. edit: thanks for the likes and very insightful comments. Muslims do this sports, the problem is the outfit, and hijabis usually find it hard to compete with modest outfits, but non covering Muslims already been competing

i’m a young hijabi girl who adores watching figure skating, seeing zahra do her absolute BEST out there on the ice inspires me to want to become a figure skater.
imagine the obstacles and walls she had to break to be the first ever person I have ever seen, a hijabi figure-skater to do skating. So empowering to watch. Her falls, her nervousness showed the expectation, the fear of being in the spot light where no one before her ever done this. A figure skating for muslim is rare to see, moreover, to ever expect one to be. Just imagine how much her parents supported of her dreams, her coach to train her, and break the stereotypes of a muslim to do figure skating. I don't have to be muslim to be saying this, but I am so proud of her for gracefully finishing her skate and not breaking her character. And seeing this after 4 years?! Eitherway, I hope other girls and boys like her can do figure-skating!

А нафига она в хиджабе, если всё тело обтянуто и все выпуклости выставлены напоказ? Это профанация. Без штанов, а в шляпе. Хиджаб на них надевают, чтобы они, как вещь, принадлежащая мужу, были ото всех скрыты, т.е. к хиджабу ещё и мешковатая одежда полагается.

Apart from the jumps, she is really a pleasure to watch. Her movements are so fluid, and it is good to see that women do not have to compete in clothes that only cover the top parts of their bodies.

Wearing loose clothes in that kind of sport is dangerous. Plus dress requirements for skating might be strict. Be proud that she's wearing hijab in a sport like that.
Don’t speak for every Muslim person on this world, idk where you’re from, maybe it’s uncommon from Arab countries, but there are also other countries where people, culture and values are different. Stop putting all of us muslim girls into one boat, we are not. I distance myself from cultures where going out uncovered for example is a crime. Widen your horizon and stop being narrow minded.

I am 45 and I used to figure skate since the third grade. I never met another Muslim figure skater. I even skated all through Ramadan despite fasting. I feel being young at the time, it wasn't that difficult.
No one is saying that hijabi women cant do skating or whatsoever..just because they dont do it its didnt means they cant..but its always have a rules how to competed with this tournament without breaking Allah rules.thats it.

As a Muslim, I say it's haram with many people who look at you, but it's not haram *alone* to ice skate! Her suit still showed her body shape, that's not good. Allah has told us what is haram, but it is permissible for girls to play sports among girls. No Tv - No men! Allah has not made everything haram, but people do it. You can do sports, but not with men, the rule also applies to men!

Considering she started training at 16, compared to most skating athletes who started at 3-5, she's doing really awesome though.
SHE STARTED AT 16!?, WITHIN 5 YEARS SHE COMPETED IN THE ASIA WINTER GAMES.
THAT IS DEDICATION

А нафига она в хиджабе, если всё тело обтянуто и все выпуклости выставлены напоказ? Это профанация. Без штанов, а в шляпе. Хиджаб на них надевают, чтобы они, как вещь, принадлежащая мужу, были ото всех скрыты, т.е. к хиджабу ещё и мешковатая одежда полагается.

Поэтому да, мусульман в России много, но в ковёр им заматываться нужды нет. И спортом занимаются наши, в том числе, татарские-башкирские фигуристки свободно! Не в одеялах. She’s perfectly covered. The parts that seem like skin are actually just cream coloured fabric.
Wearing loose clothes in that kind of sport is dangerous. Plus dress requirements for skating might be strict. Be proud that she's wearing hijab in a sport like that.
Don’t speak for every Muslim person on this world, idk where you’re from, maybe it’s uncommon from Arab countries, but there are also other countries where people, culture and values are different. Stop putting all of us muslim girls into one boat, we are not. I distance myself from cultures where going out uncovered for example is a crime. Widen your horizon and stop being narrow minded.

Furthermore, if you read Zahra’s biography you’ll see that her father was opposed to her competing. If there were no obstacles as you claim, there should be equivalent hijabi girls in all sports, which I personally don’t believe there are.

I am 45 and I used to figure skate since the third grade. I never met another Muslim figure skater. I even skated all through Ramadan despite fasting. I feel being young at the time, it wasn't that difficult.
It is not all about winning. It is about progress good on her for giving it a try. Hopefully more to follow in the future.
As a hijabi and a muslim girl who can't and wish to do figure skating i'm so proud of her and happy to see her🤍
No one is saying that hijabi women cant do skating or whatsoever..just because they dont do it its didnt means they cant..but its always have a rules how to competed with this tournament without breaking Allah rules.thats it.

Зачем ей тренироваться ? У неё не получается красиво кататься. Зачем поддерживать бездарность ? Она начала заниматься фигурным катанием в 13 лет, это очень поздно. Деньги некуда было девать. Пусть на ее место придут действительно талантливые девочки

Allah has told us what is haram, but it is permissible for girls to play sports among girls. No Tv - No men!

@@rin3880 لا لو كانت عربية وجسمها يساعد لا مانع بالعكس اشجع وتكون اكثر احترام ام انا تكلمت على بنية الجسد هي لا تساعد ان تكون متفوقة هناك رياضات تحتاج لبنية نحيفة وعظام خفيفة انا اتحدث من الناحية العلمية ولست اتحدث من ناحية عنصرية او مقارنة أفهم...العرب اجسادهم تتماشى مع رياضة الفروسية او العاب القوى او الكرة او غيرها التي تحتاج قوة جسدية وبنية ثقيلة اما التزلج والرقص يريد جسم اكثر نحافة وخفة وليونة هذا رأيي و كل ورايه وهذه هو الاختلاف انت لك ربي واحترمه وانا لي رأي ولا اقلل من قيمة احد هذا هو الرقي وليس جهل كمل وصفت...وجميل ما قدمت وهذه موهبتها ولكن هل تحصل على الذهبية هذا هو الهدف ..وشكرا لمرورك
