I like your video thanks
Hello Sebastin,
Firstly, amazing video! And cheers for getting into University of Medicine, it's my dream to get there as well.
Just a quick question which books did you refer to for content review? :)
Thank you! When I was preparing, I mainly used Des O'Neill, Gold Standard and ACER material :)
Love this video! Just wondering what undergraduate degree did you take on?
Hi Sebastian, great video! I was wondering if you applied to Uni's after your first GAMSAT sitting? Did you have any interviews before you were excepted by Usyd? Thanks!
Yes I did apply for other unis. I had an interview at Griffith the previous year, and ANU the same year as when I interviewwed for USYD. I talk about this in my "How I Got Into Medical School" video :)
0:12 Blessed by Daniel Caesar. thats good instrument
👌
From where did you complete your undergraduate course?
Hi Sebastian! Thank you so much for the video. If you don’t mind, I was wondering what your undergrad GPA was. Also was your GPA from your honours year separate? If so did you apply with your honours year GPA or the GPA from your 3 yr undergrad?
You're welcome! My GPA from honours was separate because they take your GPA from the previous 3 years so my 1st year marks didn't contribute.
Sebastian Pirie hmm wouldn’t they count your honours year GPA then (and previous years?) So in other words it would be combined with last two years of your UG degree?
Hello Sebastian! I’m getting into undergrad soon and I aim to sit the gamsat before I graduate. May I ask when do I have to start preparing? Do I have to start preparing by the first year of university? English isn’t my native language and Im concerned whether that will be an obstacle for me
Hi Sebastian! What do you believe will be a competitive score for USYD med entry 2021?
Please give some tips for ISAT
What course and Uni were you at before you got into Med?
Just got my result from my first ever sitting; 68. Is this high enough?
Hi very informative video..
I just wanna ask is there any age limit for applying for medical degree. . ? Cz I'm new in Australia .
Thanks for this useful video, you mean in section 2 ,you go with 2 body paragraph which could be why you are agree or disagree, am i right?
And them what is the 3rd point i couldn't get you how should we go with the third point in section 2 🤔
You were at 999 subcribers so I had to help you reach 1K without even watching your video :)
Edit: Great video, defs worth subscribing for. I wanted to do Med as an undergrad but didn't do so well on the UMAT and tbh personally I wasn't ready nor could handle Med, am now doing radiation therapy but I'm considering the idea of graduate Med.
Woo! Lucky 1000 🙌🏼 Thank you :)
I know your feels about the UMAT. It's also really tricky when you don't have much real world experience.
If you do consider graduate med in the future I'm sure you'll love it! Best of luck with it all :)
@@SebastianPirie Thank you :))
Hi Sebastian,
Seen almost of all your videos 😎 felt really good!!!! I just have one question that can we get into medical school with a score between 60 to 65?
Sad no one answered you yet - the benchmark changes each year based off the last one. Hopefully someone told you this already and fingers crossed for you
Hi Seb, could you not have applied using your first exam report? Asking cause 66 sounds good to me, or you only wanted to get into USYD and needed more than 66?
Hi Sebastian , I want to know can international students take gamsat ? And if they took it and passesd , will it be a hight opportunity for them to get accepted in Australian university ? I'll be grateful if I u answer me
Hey Sebastian, I was just wondering what you studied in your undergrad degree? I’m doing a biology major and have studied first year chemistry but was considering using my elective courses to do either some extra chem units or some humanities units. I know chem courses would be directly relevant to the GAMSAT and medicine, but I feel like taking some humanities courses might round me out as a doctor and help with some other non-science skills? Do you have any thoughts?
He did Medical Science, he mentioned it briefly in the video talking about how he got into medical school
Hey Sebastian! What average grade (GPA) did you have to get in your first degree to apply for your medical school?
It depends on the uni! For my uni, you needed a credit average minimum.
What degree you was done before gamsat .. i mean i am just confirming that which background course you u were .before setting the gamsat .. which degree i should do .?? Which help me onward for attempting the gamsaat .. nursing . Biomedical .biomedication etc pllz i need help
What is the percentile for those marks?
What was your course at uni while you were taking the GAMSAT?
Medical Science!
Oh nice, I’m doing that this year, anyways, why didn’t you take the UCAT instead of the GAMSAT?
@@angeloacanto5953 I sat the UMAT (before it got changed to UCAT) in high school and didn't perform very well. I considered sitting it again but GAMSAT seemed like the way to go because I wanted to study medicine at USYD which is mainly graduate entry. I also wanted to complete a Bachelor's degree to get more experience and time under my belt before I committed to med school :)
Hi Sebastian! I was wondering if your bachelor’s degree of medical science helped you with the GAMSAT. I’m currently doing BS nursing so I just wanted to know if I should transfer or not. Thanks!
Having a science degree helps with improving your timing for S3. Other than that, I think everyone has the capacity to perform well in the GAMSAT with effective preparation. If you're enjoying nursing, stick with it! All the best :)
What the books you used ? Or websites for GAMSAT ?
Hey; he answered someone else's similar question and said: "I mainly used the ACER resources (practice exams/questions), Des O’Neill Q’s, and the GAMSAT Gold Standard book. Everything else was just wide reading, watching a lot of Q&A/news, and essay writing. Good luck with your preparation :)"
Hi i'm pr in australia
Should i take gamsat or isat?
Lets be honest..he just cute or naaa
I am an indian. Can i give this exam
What did you study before?
Medical Science!
Your 1st score of 66 is a really competitive score in the uk, was it not a competitive score in Australia?
66 is competitive for some universities but was not quite enough for the ones I was aiming for!
Sebastian Pirie Thanks for the clarification! Your hard work paid off in the end well done
But like you said the Gamsat is irrelevant once you finish your degree and become a junior doctor. So maybe the uni you go to also doesn't matter as much since it's that hard work ethic that follows through to professional.
So really only 500 word essays???
Why would choosing "B" as an answer maximize your chances? I thought each letter would have a 1/5 chance of being correct.
the answer "b" has the highest percentage of being correct than other answers, Idk why this is the case but it is. I think its like 5% MORE likely to be correct OVER the other choices, you should look into it more
bu theoretically yes u do have a 1/5 chance in being correct
Leshko
Did you use any specific material to prepare?
I mainly used the ACER resources (practice exams/questions), Des O’Neill Q’s, and the GAMSAT Gold Standard book. Everything else was just wide reading, watching a lot of Q&A/news, and essay writing. Good luck with your preparation :)
@@SebastianPirie thank you for that mate. ps. with the gold standard resource. just checking it's actually 3 books? is that correct? 1 book for social reasoning, another for biology and organic chemistry, while the 3rd is for maths, physics and general chemistry?
Can I go for GAMSAT ? As I’m not a student of medical but I really want to do this test….
I'm not completely sure, but I don't think there are any degree requirements to take the test, so you could do it even if you aren't apply for medicine.
Thank you Sebastian. Just for the dummies, shouldn't you been doing the ucat at undergraduate instead?
Yes that's right!
This might be a stupid question but how did you start practicing for section 3? Did you start it by reading a GAMSAT book (science section) or by practicing exam-style question?
I started with completeting a lot of practice questions, then going over the areas I was weak in
So some commentary is you probably really don't know how the examiners marked you or what they were thinking so the comment on 40 min /20 min isn't justified or substantiated imho.
4times
hey sebastian , pls tell me a way to reach u out , i am in a dire need to talk to someone about some medicine courses. pls pls if u see this let me know how to come in contact with u
