Yeah, 9 million is quite reasonable if we are saying your company was on the look out for programmers with no prior experience, have probably not been part of any projects and were then given this opportunity to add to their resume, they definitely seem to have taken their time in learning a new programming language in these two years :)
Exactly. I give you My email. Brainstorm few ideas and we ask 10 million dollars for our super duper idea 😜
@@RISINGDRAGON557 LOL, while tons of canadian software dev are still looking for jobs flipping burgers.

They billed $9M in two years. According to him they took 30% of that as profit so that's $2.7M. The remaining money went to pay contractors. He said they had about 30 people working on it at the most. So...$7.8M / 30 = $260K/yr per developer.
I highly doubt they paid that much to developers and that's assuming they had 30 for the full 2 years...which they didn't.
The guy is a liar and they made WAY more than 30% profit. More like 100%. Scammers.
I hope nobody is getting paid for the time they spend doing this. A good accountant could sort this out and let them know what money went where. Any way you look at it was 54 million spent on something that was not needed and was a tracking app that was used to see where people went and not just keep their information about vaccination status.
They could have just paid Tim Hortons for their app. Canadians are chattel to be tracked and traced.
Thank you for posting this video and the transparency it provides.
l'd like to see how they built the site cause l got a 15 yr old js....there's no way in hell it takes the amount that what was given to build a functional site. l call b.s how many mouths could have been fed or housed this is a dam shame.
Anthony Housefather does a lot of head shaking and nodding in affirmation of the questions that he is asking and the answers that he is seeking. Interesting!
There was no competition for a 9 million dollar contract. Wow that smells rights there.
The government has thousands of IT people so surely they could create a simple app
In-house , app development is not that difficult , it’s hard to believe that the Canadian government has to outsource costing huge amounts of tax payers money .
You want more government employees? Corporate sweetheart deals are better because you can meet up at a bar later for some beers and envelopes under the table.
What you said is true however. Hobbyist programmers and open source projects far outpace any government created IT infrastructure and software.
Sounds like you're against the efficiency of the private sector. You sound like a communist
@@eddycurrents8073 not at all! Profit is my motive! I can provide a much better service for a marginally higher price than those schmucks. Those guys have no idea what they’re doing anyhow. Another’s incompetence is my fortune!

Easier to hide the $$ with external contract
Watch Housefather when he asks questions. When he wants a "No", he shakes his head while asking the question, and he nods when he wants a "yes".
This is pretty common actually, it’s a way of coaching someone you haven’t prepped ahead of time.
It’s because he’s a Liberal and leads the witness to the spot where it gives the impression that everything is above board when it obviously “Isn’t”.
What ever happened to govt tenders for major expenses. Seems.this liberal govt picks.and chooses.
I'm glad he thinks the $9 million they charged was good value lol
I am disgusted. By what has gone on in Canada. Vote Pierre P.
9 million dollars to recruit the programmers?! Are you kidding me?
He said he billed the Government of Canada $44 million - but only $9 million related to ArriveCAN. Not bad for a 2 person company - and only for one customer, Government of Canada. WOW!
@@eucmike Trudeau billed Taxpayers 12 thousand dollars in luxury groceries in ONE MONTH, so why on earth would his government either understand or respect money especially when it's not theirs
It looks like a huge $45 million was paid out over 2 years, and they got to add 20% which is $9 million = $54 million. Seems the 2 person company wanted to keep inflating this as much as possible as they were allowed to keep adding on 20% (9 million) for themselves for the recruiting, just for this one app. Plus for other recruiting for the Liberal federal gov't.
Finally a molecule of accountability
You elect a gov that pontificates they are the "team" you should hand your tax dollars to. In reality they too are just middle men that outsource to those that outsource.
BEST QUESTION. "Do you see any issues with the clone app?".
Govt. "Sorry, we are out of time", so move along taxpayers.
It's weird how the next door neighbour's 12 year old kid could have designed the very same app in 2 days with a proper amount of Monster Energy Drink and occasional "Call of Duty" breaks.
Tells us you're a corrupted government without telling us you're a corrupted government.
👍
Housefather the blame for this goes to the top. Perfect
Is it possible that Margret Trudeau was paid a consulting fee?
Pierre Poilievre for Prime Minister 💙 🇨🇦
I love how we’re all pretending that $9M to help find a few programmers is a fair amount of money. And we’ll spent by our government.
May God bless all the honesty-seekers, no matter they are believers or not yet!
It's theft. They may not be charged with said crime, but it's still theft; any moral perspective on the matter would agree that it's theft.
I want that job.
Anyone know the date this guy was first approached to start recruiting coders to build the AC APP?
Thank you for delivering that message. If previous Liberal voters see this, and still vote for these crooks again, then they are beyond any reasoning. And for Liberal supporters with kids and grandkids, you will embarrass yourselves if they happen to see this video.
2015- 2020 , we need to train our own. We have very smart Canadians here.
Has anyone wondered if the company made a “ significant donation” to the Liberal Party after getting the contract? I suspect it is a well tried fundraising strategy of the Liberal Party, especially under Trudeau. Food for thought.
Bingo.You probably nailed it
Or donations to the Trudreau fondation.
Right at the end he advises the money his company got was TAX FREE. Why? it is income.
The auditor general states, there was no proper consideration for fiscal responsibility. Our nation is gradually descending into chaos.

The only reason it cost that much is: he is friends with the government or the government has no idea how much things cost. Another company made the same app for less than a Million.

They worked on the app during covid including providing 152 updates the two years.

This app never recognized that I was uploading blank sheets of paper to see if anyone actually read the vaccinations cards. My last trip from Orlando to Halifax, no one took the time to check. It was only a restaurant that we had to prove we were vaccinated. And that was "The Mother's Web" in Antigonish.

I am a software engineer of 25 years, and my team could have built this thing for far less than $1M in about 6 months. This is dripping with fraud.
@@matt1720 okay. I'm a full stack engineer to. So maybe you'd like to talk. Because engineers are expensive, backend for the software was complex. And from my understanding they needed additional measures for backend integration etc because it's for the government.
Yeah sure may have been able to be done cheaper. But $1m now I know you're either lying, or being dishonest. 20 engineers at 100,000$per year is over 2 million dollars in labor alone. So stop it... just stop.
@@kyleleblancvlogs3820 Ok Lefty sheeple troll ! 🤑
This guy has charged 42 million to the government in 2 years, he said industry standard is 15 to 30%. Industry standard is not 30% and if it is you’re charging customers WAAAAY too much. He would have made at most 14.4 million dollars or least 6.3 million in 2 years working from home because I doubt he’s ever lost any money in this career with the government if he stated the least he’s made is 15. There has to be something stinky going on here.
Law is a VERY finicky thing based on she said he said. He said 30 because that was his best and 15 cause it was his worst, he never said he’s lost money on a job or cut a deal for the work they’ve done.
@@matt1720 me too. I worked on software engineering all my life. What we are talking about here is not even a complex implementation. It is a database application, yes very large in scale, but highly predictable.

I just find it absolutely laughable that the government spent this incredible amount of money on this.

Can’t believe this was done a year ago and yet nobody in the government thinks it is important enough to do anything about it.

I see you are really interested in the debate
Why did the first lawyer get cut off right as he was getting to the incriminating questions 🤨
You answered your own question dude...
do they have a bond because of the information they will see while development of that APP ., if they are not then both the government & them can be charged , because ANY personal information, going to a none bonded company is against the law .
That would also be interesting to know.
This contractor is worth every dollar he is being paid. He answers every question, he knows the market, he's like Iron-Man.

We’re not talking about the work on the App (‘for marketing purposes’) B4 the pandemic (2019), yet, the $9M is, admittedly, the price paid to this middle man for staffing IT design engineers for the ArriveCan App. Hmmm🤫🇨🇦
There is a guy who seemed from east Asia he was on tv during pandemic. He works for he federal government. He mentions about this app before it was implemented. So, the federal government was creating that app with someone who works for the government.

Why are these people questioning being so apologetic 🤔
They are almost afraid to ask questions. Maybe this is why corruption continue.
