She said Chris Evans and I didn't even question it
KraziKlutz12 Chris Somebody. 😆
I honestly can't tell any of the Chrises apart, lol
Same!
Kirk is pretty- wait, what?
LOL Me either.
Once again, Amber's brand of soft silly humor is a stronger take on grave and discouraging issues than meets the eye.
That was... something unexpectedly touching and heartfelt from a comedy show.
I think more than any other late night host, Seth actually takes the time to try and create a dialogue.
@@Shan2TheBoner1987 Colbert?
@@sillygoose635 I don't think Colbert is interested in dialogue that's not about himself
Just what I was about to say.
I think Amber needs her safe space more than ever.
"Seth, you're white. You have a safe space, it's called America." 😂😂😂
any scene with Amber fills me with warmth
Csaba Juhász Where is the filling and warmth located. On second thought, nevermind. 😆
Ivan Johnson Oh just stop you perv
Ivan Johnson That was a horrible joke. Love it.
Seth has the best writers of all late night shows (well... Colbert is close). Perfect.
Csaba Juhász me too... Tho i'm not such a fan of safe spaces - or rather what they've become.
But amber is just too darn cute for me to care
I love Seth. Who wouldn't. One of the best things about his show is the respect he has for his writers. He gives them a bit of a showcase and that speaks to his strong character.
Some people are complaining that this is cringey, and to an honest extent I can see where you might be coming from. But if it makes you feel a little uncomfortable, it might be all the more important that there is something you should take in, that there might be something you need to think about.
But in saying that, I actually found this very charming, it actually felt like a little skit that was welcoming, and also kind of encouraging to be open in return. You can admit you are not perfect, but there is a clear line that the thing we should not tolerate is an actual lack of tolerance, and unfound hate just for the way someone is. Be excellent to each other.
Party on, dude.
Cringey? I LOVED this! Who would get that from this? They must be cringeworthy people.
Honestly, I thought this was the best skit I’ve ever seen from this show.
Yes, I found it sweet
Wow.. nice to have a budget. My safe space is just sitting in the corner of the room, screaming into a pillow for 45 minutes. I think I'm doing it wrong.
New Message - I need to put this effing phone down and grab my pillow.
New Message depends... do you use the cool side of the pillow?
Nah you got it.
At least bring some wine or cookies or something to the corner next time ;)
New Message 45 mins? No, scream at 45!! He's the reason you are screaming right now
The world needs more Ambers...There. I said it. She's awesome. Greetings from Germany :)
Yep, we love her over here :)
We need one in Germany too!
@Sumit only if she then also speaks and jokes in english ;) so we could proudly show the world "see we got one too"
WHOOOAAAAHHH "There I said it" -- coming to a Seth Meyers video and posting a positive comment in a comment section where 95% of the people agree with you. SO BRAVE!
Please tell us, once you've discovered humor. :)
I really appreciate hat Seth and his team can produce a late night show that is both funny and thought provoking. Well done.
I love how they always find new ways to get amber on the show, she is great!
I always love Amber and I really appreciate this sketch. As soon as she came out and sat down by Seth my heart sunk a little. I love her thoughtful funny commentary but it's so hard always having to be "the voice" "the Jodie Landon" "the mediator" "the translator". And I hated that she was going to have to do that, again. Weary is the word. When she flipped the script and didn't talk, surprisingly I was relieved. The concept of the safe space, taking timeout and not being overwhelmed by it all was wonderful. Because like she said it's not new, it's everyday.
Thank you Late Night and Thank you Amber.
I come back to this video every now and then. To remind myself, that it's okay if I take some time off. I'm tired of being the strong minority and fighting the good fight all the time. That I'm not a bad person, if I take some time for my mental health. You can still fight, and take a breather. This is not a sprint. This is a marathon.
Figs3 always take time for you’re mental health. You feeling are important and valuable. ❤️❤️
This is real and thank you for your comment. I agree and I don’t even realize sometimes how warn out I get. I’m glad you saw it on a real human level. Brave for you to speak to good mental health practices too. I need to do this more. Thank you for this comment. It’s just a tad easier when I know I’m not the only one out there
@@adrian-linisteanghel750 this video is definitely helping these past few weeks.
Seth: I think Al Sharpton is a bit much!!
Amber: chuckle, chuckle, we all do.
That one got me:)
Comedy is my way of taking care of myself. Thanks Seth Meyers. And Steven Colbert. And Trevor Noah. And John Oliver.
What's Sam Bee? Chopped liver?
PhillyFrank1 Amen, brother.
And thanks to all of their writers and researchers, too. More than ever, the bumper sticker "watch Comedy Central for news, watch Fox News for comedy" holds a lot of truth.
Don't forget Jim Jeffries!
And Samantha Bee!
This made me so happy and fuzzy inside.
This made me reaaaaaaally calm and zen and peaceful
This skit went over a lot of people's heads, but I thought it was brilliant, if you don't understand it, you might want to examine the state of this country a little bit closer...
Amber is a precious angel sent from Heaven to make people smile.
Also: I cracked up that her loves were chocolate cake and margaritas.
I love Amber! I've said it before and
I'll say it again… Amber needs her
own show!!
Frank Gavin Moratalla amber Will Save This show she is already carrying it omg
abso-freaking- lutely..I lovvvvve her
She is awesome! But she may be best in small doses. Again I absolutely love her but again small doses.
she got one!
I’m from the future, she got one
I think some of this is exactly what people needed to hear after a nervewracking few days in the US. Hearing endless thinkpieces about the current state of the country and coverage about how terribly Trump is handling all this can wear you out really fast, and then you just need to hear something positive and funny. Amber and Seth always manage that exceptionally well.
Instead of mocking or condemning safe spaces, be glad you're not the sort of person who needs them.
"And Chris Evans." "That's Chris Pine." hilarious. great video.
This was actually so sweet and reassuring. Thanks Amber :)
Why isn’t she making children’s television? She would be the perfect composure, tone, perspective, and delivery to cover real topics in a lighthearted way, be funny, and still get solid results!
I think Amber's show is appropriate for all ages! However, I agree that she would probably knock it out of the park if she were hosting a children-centered show.
@@randyc8771 - Like imagine if she hosted a new Blue's Clues? Yadigit? She would kill it! Right?
Remember Blue's neighbor Magenta? - Million dollar idea right there! Call it Magenta's Fundamentals! [Its a stretch, I know, but u get the idea!] & Miranda was the neighbor at the time, but maybe Miranda went to prison or something, so her roomate or girlfriend? [Amber] is the de facto owner & they get into all sorts of shenanigans together! + Thats 2 topics off the top that Amber could help explain to kids... Prison & LGBTQ+! lol - Blue can still be the neighbor & make all kinds of cameos! Yano? Of course im bein rather tongue in cheek, but yeah... u get the idea!
YO! Nickelodeon! or NBC! Or fuckin Netflix! - GET ON IT!!! - Wut u waiting for?!
You betcha! She has the same kind of positive energy I hear all the time from Liliana Mumy in Higglytown Heroes. February 6, 2022, 2:26am
That was sweet. A nice change of tone from all the chaos in the world. Thanks, Amber and Seth. ☺
Amber's SO talented. I look forward to her getting her own show.
Amber is becoming a stand out, she's gonna get her own show asap I'm guessing.
Nice prediction!! (: And her new show is hysterical!
I love Amber. She is the coolest person out there. She's Strong, stunning and funny. Wish I could give her a big hug.
Amber is a star.
Amber has one of the most infectious smiles.
This had a really dark and witty sense of humor and I'm living for it!!
Amber segments have always been my favourite thing about Late Night. Love her so much and even more now! She just makes me want to hug her.
Catspotting is my safe space. Highly recommended.
I love Amber. She's so endearing. I want to see her on my screen like all the time.
A great piece! maybe not as laugh out loud, but this is an important change of pace.
I can't think straight these days either. This was just what I needed. Much love for Seth and Amber.
Amber's a star. Not sure how long Seth can keep hold of her but like Michelle Wolf she is destined for bigger things.
Turns out getting the most diverse writing team possible is a great idea like Sly and the family stone and Prince did with their bands
Duane and Whitley!!! They would be in my safe space as well.
❤️❤️❤️ that someone else noticed that one too
I know, right?!
Not what I expected, but that was amazing. Kudos Amber, Seth and all involved.
This is perfect. Amber Amber all the time we need more Amber!
I'm re-doing my safe space tonight! Thanks Amber--you are going on my wall! Love u
She's like Vanillope Von Sweets from Wreck it Ralph, I love her
The more Amber is in an episode, the happier I am. She's adorable and funny and I thought this skit was hilarious. People dissing "Safe Spaces" need to chill out. You know we all have them. Lighten up.
Extra likes for the Grace Jones photo!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️
That and the Dwayne and Whitley photo.
kiwi-brown **** Totally!!!
Amber you are very funny but you spoke the truth! You are right this is a marathon not a Sprint but it's so very, very tiring. I love people really don't get it how disheartening it can be, how weary it can make you. Thank you and seth for making me laugh when everything else makes me cry and want to give up. Please keep being the people that I look up to. Thank you!
Black tired. Weary. Yep...
I feel you Amber.
That was adorable. They work so well together.
I can honestly say, I have come back to this video many times over the past few years. It was needed in a way that non-Black people will never understand.
I never comment on videos... but this was too funny, trenchant and moving to not speak up. Amber, you're brilliant. And Seth, you're the voice that a lot of people desperately need to hear right now. Cheers to you both and the rest of the Late Night gang.
So good! So much truth. Teared up a little... not gonna lie.
I've been avoiding clips and shows to decompress for a while but I clicked on this for Amber.
One of the best! God, why aren't there more shows like this!? Amber is beautiful in all that she plays...And your Southern accents are the best...
How not to LOVE Amber?!
"I've watched the wire 5 times and it's the first thing I tell black people!!"
My god, she's brilliant. I think her career is about to take off on another whole level. Her Late Night material from the past few years is more relevant than ever.
God damn this was a good segment. Amber is so good at illustrating and educating with lightness and comedy and relatability. She is absolutely amazing at this job and I am so thankful she has it right now.
I love Amber-she’s so amazing. This segment brims with her humanity and then I started crying knowing that it’s true and I (white woman) never even knew. Thank you, Amber, so very very much.
What a great way to present that, Seth and Amber! Kudos!
We need this sketch again. Came for a rewatch!
I want a Maxine Waters poster.
this segment was magical, more of her please
How much do I love that Amber's safe space has a picture of Dwayne and Whitley? Thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiis much! (More, actually, but I can't get anything done if I just stay here hitting the "i" key.)
You know this is *timeless...*
when you realize this was from over 4 years ago
🔥🔥🔥
Amber The Awesome !!! I Love that room.
I recognized those pictures of Harriet Tubman and Astronaut Mae Jemison from the walls at my kid's school.
right on point Amber. hope your safe space works... cause it's haaard to swallow all the bull*beep*
I don't watch late night TV much, so I'm newly aware of Amber and I love her.
Deeply touching.
And funny.
One day Amber will get her own show and it will be glorious. Samantha Bee broke the glass ceiling, I hope Amber Ruffin or Jessica Williams break the white ceiling.
0:50 Yes Amber. What Happened In Charlottesville Is Not Un-American - It's Classic Americana.
That made me cry because it's so true and relevant and I don't live in America ... every person of African descent in the Diaspora hurts when they watch what Americans are doing to its African citizens. Shame on America.
This is so on point for today June 2020. The fact Amber was talking about it in 2017-just proves how nothing changes.
Been so distraught I can barely leave bed at
this point. Depression is worse than normal
Anyone else watching this in 2020?
Me. Amazing.
These two are nice people. My mom loves the show.
I love this :D what a fun and informative way to explain what a 'safe space' is all about for people without condemnation
Love you, Amber! Thank you for showing us your safe space.
I'm beginning to think anything with Amber in it is gold!
I'm black and I don't need, or want a safe place, life as a black person can be hard @ times. What I want is respect and the too be treated like a human being. That's what makes me safe.
i love the "A DIFFERENT WORLD" poster in the back!
i loved this. it was like a reminder to take care of our self.
Amber is precious
"Maxine you ain't gonna believe this sh..." XD
Amber is a pure beam of light in a dark world
I loved this, give me more!
The safe space sounds wonderful
I feel so alone and sad and scared
She's awesome!
I would watch a sitcom with Seth & his team
Genius! Such a smart comedian.
I don't know why anyone would call this bit 'lame.' Amber brightens up everything. That young lady could make doing her taxes interesting. Deserves her own show.
Ms Ruffin has always been great and is just getting better. Thanks.
(edit) LOL VP Harris in the background!
Wow! Not very many trolls in these comments. Some people thought the sketch was lame, but a whole lot of us loved it. Go Maxine!
AMBER YAY! :-D thanks for making this with Seth. Your words are a light in this weary storm. thank you thank you thank you
I love seth with amber so much
Her loves, margaritas 💖
The loves of my life!!! Chocolate cake and margaritas 😂😂😂😂😂👏👏👏😍😍😍
Damn Adolph Hillfinger with his napkins, damn them all!
I'd say we'd need a world with more Ambers but I love that we have just the one. Anymore than one and the world would laugh its self out of orbit.
Take us with you Amber, take us to a new land ruled by you!
That Was awesome... Almost made me cry actually.
