- Another season of Kamen Rider has come and gone...but it hurts a little more this year. Kamen Rider Geats was one of the most ambitious stories in the franchise, and while it has its faults, it delivered nearly every aspect of a show to me personally.

Love it, Geats is now literally my second place favourite main rider. Ace is literally like Bruce Wayne
It's awesome.
While Geats wasn’t perfect, my god this was a fun season. So many twist and turns. Even though Kiewa had nothing to do in the middle, he still had an amazing arc. Neon having to deal with an identity crisis is something I never saw coming at the beginning. I do wish Buffa got to use Fever Zombie more post his arc but it shows how strong he is in base Zombie form (even though Keiwa was able to knock him down easily). Geats by far is one of the best characters in the show due to his style and confidence.

On reddit, I saw someone translate a segment of an interview with Yuya. And the part that was translated was about Keiwa getting Bujin Sword. As in the translation, it was stated that Bujin sword was meant to happen sooner. But Yuya was told not yet multiple times. Leading to the form arriving after Sara's death. While despite being fitting, the form should have arrived sooner.
Yeah that makes sense. It does seem like they were setting it up since Keiwa's return to the DGP. Hell, Bujin Sword was being foreshadowed since the Crossover Movie. I think also a by-product of that was Maou being pushed to the V Cinema because Bujin Sword was probably supposed to show up around the time Ace returned during the JGP. Though I think it was a good thing they waited, I think they waited a little too long to start Keiwa's Villain Arc to get the biggest impact.
I love how for every plot twist we get blindsided by, and there are ALOT, we never feel cheated. We never feel like it got pulled out of their ass, no, each twist feels completely justified. I cant wait to rewatch Geats and as Ace gets backed into a corner just having an ear to ear grin appear as I remember exactly what he's cooking.
That cliffhanger before the Final Episode with Ace getting shot was probably one of the most shocking things I've seen in a Kamen Rider Show even if it was foreshadowed and shown in the opening every episode. I feel like Geats really took advantage of the fact that we started to really distrust the openings especially after Zero-One only to throw us a massive curveball with that cliffhanger. I don't think other than W that they've ever straight up started and/or ended an episode with the Main Character just straight up getting shot for real and then cut to black with ambiguity like that. For them to do what they did with the Final Arc, that took some balls to do it and stick the landing the way they did.
I love how I was right calling neon being a dead clone and how nobody thought Kamen Rider would do because of a kids show when really it’s never she’d away from doing stuff like that
@@Zeromaru42 I trusted the opening, I was mainly wondering "ooo, what's this an allegory for?" then we get to episode 47 and learn its an allegory for tsumuri popping a cap in ace.

That Geats cameo in Battle Familia was one of the best cameos in rider for me. Super memorable and cool, kept watching it on repeat till it inevitably go copyright struck

Something I love about geats was it was basically a critique of the kamen rider franchise as a whole. The sponsors were all meant to represent various parts of the fandom. Beroba being the person who trolls and wants things to happen just because she thinks it be funny even if it would screw the show over. Kekera thinking there’s only one way to be a rider and trying his best to make it so it’s the only way, Ziin not knowing boundaries, and Kyuun loving the show but thinking harsh critiques are how to voice your love for it.
Even the writing for the show basically critiques kamen rider tropes people get tired of. The entire desastar arc is basically a critique of the rider vs rider trope the show has been trying to rely on. By having the character be against each other due to a traitor and clash, only for it to not go anywhere: basically telling us that trying to make riders fight one another for drama makes no sense and shouldn’t be done. As it’s the game master who does this and All it did was hinder Keiwa ability to help save people.
Keiwa is a critique of the idea trauma=character development and that Keiwa needed to change with his trauma to become a rider. When in reality he was perfect as is, and it’s the rejection of succumbing to his trauma that allows him to finally be a kamen rider. Deciding to screw reality and be a rider in his own terms.
Even ace is a critique of the lone rider trope. As he starts out selfish, but overtime views the necessity of friends and comes to care for them, to the point he quite literally becomes a God through the power of friendship.
The entire show is just so good and seems to try to reset the show back on track and remind the show they don’t need to rely on the same gimmicks and should explore different story beats

You're conflating sponsors and supporters, like the writers of this abomination of a story were doing.
Sponsors = Kousei, Hareruya's grandpa, etc.
Supporters = Ziin, Beroba, Kekera, Kyuun, etc.
Geats' story is sooooooooo contrived, convoluted, and bloated that the writers confuse themselves.
If that's not the ultimate hallmark of bad writing, I don't know what is.

Read my comment carefully. An example of the writers' confusing themselves was episode 32 minute 04:57, when Beroba called herself Jyamato's sponsor. Beroba was NOT a sponsor, but a supporter. The terms "supporter" and "sponsor" were two completely different terms, yet the writers conflated them because their writing were so narratively chaotic that they couldn't even follow what they wrote. Those two terms were mostly empty words, because no one knew (including the writers) what was a sponsor's job in this abomination they called sToRy.
Don't get me started on the sheer number of instances of irrationality, stupidity, utter lack of common sense, and violation of internal rules in this sToRy. Almost every episode had at least one of them. This sToRy would've stalled, or even couldn't begin without them.
Oh, and please learn the correct use of the word literally.

For me the characters just felt very real compared to previous Kamen Riders, that's what makes Geats stand out for me. While some minor characters are simple more black and white like you said, but most don't feel that way at all. They all have their own different complex personalities, Michi being at a first glance but he's morally a good guy with questionable actions and Ace being a cocky liar at a first glance turned out to be a guy who just wants everyone to be happy. Ziin and Kyuun started out as morally grey characters but then slowly lean towards the light side bcuz of the riders they support respectively, Beroba and Kekera are the same too except they turned more into the dark side (also it was very satisfying for both of them to finally bite the dust, cuz goddamn I love to hate them.)
Also bonus point for me, the main rider designs are just.. chef kiss!

When was Ziin and Kyuun morally gray? To me it was more being misguided and detached as supporters who glorify and romanticize their sponsee, and forget they're human (also the fact they work on a different belief system and norms because they're from the future). Which parallels with toxic fan culture. Beroba wasn't really ever morally gray that "eventually leaned towards the dark side". Kekera you have a better argument for, but I still mostly disagree.

This show gave a lot of time to a rider machine. Boost Striker is the first Bike in a long time that for some love. I am glad Takashi was able to dedicate some gorgeous scenes to it especially in the finale.
I feel you're giving Takashi a bit too much credit. It's also the job of the producers and other staff to secure the locations (as a reminder/if you didn't know Japanese road laws are getting stricter). So, the opposite could've happened where he writes a bike scene, but they can't get the location. Luck and, again, the producers should also be credited.
Geats will always have a very special place in my heart. It was the very first Rider series I watched live, and I loved every second of it. The characters, the story, the action, it was all so incredible. It's definitely one of my favorite Rider series and one of my favorite series period. Thank you for an amazing year, Geats.
I absolutely love how the metafiction elements of geats are not only given time to be explored, but with the supporters, are actively weaponized against our protagonists. They enable our protagonists to be heroes, but basically do that by giving them problems that use real people and the methods to solve them- and with kekera in particular, he specifically seeks to make keiwa miserable for the purpose of becoming his image of what a kamen rider is supposed to be.
Geats being finished feels so odd, it feels like it went on for a lot longer then it actually did.
Yeah. Like, the whole series feels like something that you watch every week or constantly that you dont realize when it actually ends, it left a big hole in. your heart.

-While Jyamatos were interesting, they never completed the Chess motif. (What is this, SOL Tech again?)
-Kyuun, compared to other supporters, has very little to be desired.
-Final Boss did felt rushed
*FINAL VERDICT:* I'm liking this season when compared to something like Ryuki.

Agreed with Jyamato part. I think Jyamato are supposed to have their own arc outside JGP (like remember the ruined city Michinaga found when he escaped Jyamato garden? And how it was introduced as a part of DGP mystery that's going to be revealed later but we never see its reveal?)
Final boss is also agreeable on some degree, Suel only felt like an evil corporation stakeholder that only appear to rob others and nothing else. They should've keep Jitt as the last boss.
Kyunn is the only one I disagree. Like yea, he have little desire and impact, but basically he's created as Neon's knight in shining armor. Kinda a pathetic knight, but he's the perfect emotional support Neon need for her arc.
The ruined city Michi found was later said to be a Jamar Area that was destroyed because all the Kamen Riders lost.
The upcoming movie that teases Buffa's final form is said to explore the origins of the Jamato
My only small gripe is that since the show was mainly a battle royale, you'd think that the smaller buckles would be more useful since they'd be more adaptable to any given situation but aside from that, this show was amazing! Gonna miss Geats, but hope Gotchard will be great as well.
Every characters in Geats like Ace, Keiwa, Neon, Michinaga, Tsumuri... I will always remember them, and thank you Geats for introducing me to the cast (especially Hoshino Yuna, the most cutest KR actress i ever see in my life).

This show is honestly the best in the reiwa so far and one of my top 5s personally. Every episode just left you hooked and nothing was ever wasted. Every form led to something new and its minimalism wasnt taken for granted.
I recently watched the final episode of Kamen Rider Geats and overall, I enjoyed the whole show. If I rank all the four reiwa shows, Geats will be first, Zero-One is second, Saber is third and Revice is fourth. Kamen Rider Geats is now my favourite Kamen Rider show in the Reiwa Era. Give props to Yuya Takahashi for making this show exist, he was the guy who made Ex-Aid and Zero-One. In fact, Kamen Rider Ex-Aid was the first Kamen Rider show I watched when I started getting into the franchise and I enjoyed it, so shoutout to him. By how, I'm going to miss this show and I can't wait for watch the next series Kamen Rider Gotchard.
I really cannot wait to rewatch this series someday, it forms such a perfect circle with itself and has incredibly phenomenal character writiing paired with probably the best action choreography and presentation we've seen in current KR. All the themes regarding human desire and attaining your own happiness combined with meta-commentary on the state of current Kamen Rider created what was ultimately a really compelling story where our characters attained their happiness beyond the system that was effectively exploiting them and putting them through the mind grinder. The final arc's End Riders literally just externalize that point with the DGP not even bothering to give Riders unique masks anymore; they're all disposable and faceless because their happiness fuels the machine regardless of their efforts.
The final set of villains, especially Beroba and Kekera, are so barefaced in their cruelty and Sueru is the embodiment of an executive who caves into the demand of a select few and ultimately destroys the soul of his own franchise in the process. Jitt quite nakedly says he wants "bad ends" re: our characters not being allowed to be happy, and Kekera has a twisted belief on what Kamen Rider should be, trying to force Keiwa into that mold. Beroba on her part takes pleasure in crushing the happiness of others and the way they used her in both Neon and Azuma's arcs was fascinating.
Ace's "final trick" was to give everyone else a shot at attaining their happiness as long as they continue wishing for it and the journey he took to get there was incredible. Keiwa is someone with the morality of your traditional modern Rider who lives in a morally grey world but rises above that and reclaims the ideals that make a Kamen Rider a hero, not a cold masked warrior. Neon's path to finding true love eventually led her to the very family she was certain she didn't belong to and it was her heart, her willingness to love other people, that made all of the difference in the end. Azuma was very stubborn and intense but as a victim of the DGP he decided to tear the system apart brick by brick, which ultimately became shockingly noble if a bit misguided once the DGP have fully transitioned into being mask off about what they really were. All the side Riders had such great brief focus (with Win, Sae, Daichi, Kousei, and Kanata all standing out to me personally) and fleshed out this series's deeper underlying intent.
Geats is a story about how if you continue wishing for something and never ever let go of those ideals, that happiness will come to you; whether that is a kitsune's longing for purpose, a tanuki's desire to be a hero, a black cat's wish to be loved, or a buffalo's anger at a cruel unjust system.
Geats is my favorite Reiwa series thus far too, and I eagerly await to see where the characters go in future releases like the V Cinema.
I loved Geats, it was a good season. Loved the concept of the buckles and how anybody could use them. But personally I felt like after Buffa got his "Rider Killer" form, the show was dragging it's feet along.
This season is a 7.5/10 for me and I liked the concepts and themes they put into this series.
I have tired a few times to get my girlfriend into Kamen Rider. We watched W, first two episodes of Build, Gaim... But it was Geats that made her fall in love with Kamen Rider and it is easily the most fun I have ever had with a Rider series, yes I still love my favourite Hesei series but this... This is FINALLY a Reiwa era show that can be put on the same level as they can in my mind and heart.
I love the camera angles and pause frames used in geats fight scenes. For me, it very strongly plays into the whole game viewing aspect as an audience member. It was also very dynamic. Some of the best fight scenes ever.

Kamen Rider Geats is my favourite season of kamen rider. It’s a story of change, breaking cycles, and even in a system designed to tear people apart: finding friendship, unity, and hope. It’s the dark hard sci fi turned science fantasy battle royale ride I’ve always wanted, and it means so much to me. If Ex-Aid was home to 13 year old me… Geats is home to me now.
The main 4 are incredible (somehow my theories Ace was a demigod came true), the sponsors are great, and the villains are just iconic (I will never be able to unsee Niram being like a future version of Jools Holland). Now… for Winter Movie 2023.

For Me, Kamen Rider Geats is much better than Zero-One, Saber and Revice in terms of writing, acting and Game genre. As for this, Kamen Rider Geats is best Kamen Rider Reiwa Series. 9.5/10
My First Impression on Geats was Like, "man, Geats is a Masterpiece", after series premiere, everyone said "who is Ace Ukiyo?" And it turns out Ace is actually a reincarnation of the Original Ace and actually the real mother of Mitsume/Goddess of Creation. And I know that this show has quality and more creativity, This series is giving back to Heisei Era vibes and it did not disappoint. Yuya Takahashi is Best Kamen Rider Series writer, Ever. And also, the finale is absolutely great and satisfying and gives the fans what the Kamen Rider is all about. I know this show is almost perfect, but this is one of my favorite Kamen Rider Series ever. I've getting this series' score: 9.9/10.

Kamen rider geats is such a masterpiece like I enjoyed every moment of the show and since I got into the kamen rider series recently last year it is a great introduction to Kamen rider.
I have so many reasons why I love geats ( many that its one of my favourite season in kamen rider ) but I will say this show was great and would love to watch it again or see more of it in movies or specials of this
Geats is basically Kamen Rider Squid Game and you cannot convince me otherwise.
Jokes aside, at first, I wasn’t too happy when I heard that Geats would be a “Battle Royale” type of series. And I thought I’d hate it. But it’s quite the inverse. I love Geats.
It’s clear that Yuya Takahashi is giving his all with this. His writing and direction is definitely something to be admired and it seems to stand out a lot, for good reason.
My favorite character probably has to be Keiwa. I love how his character shifts from this Hopeful, yet charming guy who just wants world peace, to someone whose ideals are being questioned once reality sets in. It’s amazing, and his final form is a testament to his character development.
Although, it seems as though the Jamato take a back-seat in the latter half of the season. I mean, I get it, at that point, it was focused on what was going on with the actual characters and all, but they just...aren’t around, and it’s kinda jarring. I genuinely liked how there wasn’t really a “Big Bad Final Boss” to the Jamato, they were just monsters who acted in their own interests. So much so that some of them mimicked humans and their personalities. It’s a good thing their story will be more fleshed out in the V-Cinema for Buffa. (From what I heard)
Ace gives me Tendou Souji vibes but in a way that makes him feel different and unique. His smile exudes the sense of a smug bastard, and I love it. Although I get the feeling that Takahashi took notes from Naruto because Foxes, and whatnot lol
The plot twists were honestly done so well, and I love them. It’s not Takahashi if he isn’t putting in great plot twists to tug at our heartstrings.
I guess one gripe I have with Geats is Michinaga’s arc. I mean, okay, the guy wants to eradicate all Kamen Riders, but then changes his motivation. Sure, there were bigger fish to fry, like Beroba, and accidentally killing Keiwa’s Sister, but I dunno, it came across as kinda odd to me.
Overall, I love Geats, and it’s definitely a highlight for the Reiwa Era of Kamen Rider.
This season for me just raised the bar for reiwa kamen rider. Yes it had some flaws but still, i was entertained . All the cast are good, ace, keiwa (even tho near the end he had a weird development), neon and azuma are a good ensemble of characters. Its a standard yuya takahashi writing.
Overall its an alright season , a pretty enjoyable one so far

Its mind boggling to me that they're sticking too much with the same writers for these past 5 years. This is not the early heisei era anymore where most it used the same writers, they need to be like the phase 2 heisei era where it get more experimental

I really liked Geats. It is the first live season that I finished (and the only season rn, because I haven’t finished OOO). Although I have some gripes with the story (why is Kyuun such an underutilized character, Daichi doesn’t do pretty much anything and then replaces Archimedal’s role for some reason and don’t get me started on the arc with all the revived riders that don’t do anything and evil Keiwa…) I liked the season. Coolest Reiwa final form and honestly best Reiwa main form. The suits are amazing and the gimmick is perfect. 7/10 if Ben and John got Rider Forms I would bump it up to an 8.

It's why Kekera is my favorite supporter.

Oh, honestly. I still agree, as of now, Geats is definitely the best of Reiwa. It's not a perfect series by any definition of the word but, it was a solid.
A few plot points I would have shifted, Keiwa's heelturn I think should have happened sooner. Maybe around befor or shortly after the Geats IX debut but that's my opinion on it at least.
It was overall, the better part of Reiwa so far.
Here's hoping Gotchard and beyond can continue this more upward climb. I am still glad though, we've definitely ditched the strange, base form/extra-final form. Despite Ace's base form having "Ready, fight for desire!" It was still MagnumBoost and we ended it with Geats IX in the end. I wasn't a fan of Realising Hopper and Almighty Saber were disappointing.
Oh! One final point of my ramble. Geats IX in design and its overall debut (that Henshin was glorious), is by far one of the greatest final forms.
I agree with most of what you said here, and I enjoyed the series greatly. That said, one aspect of the series I was annoyed by was the suit design - transitioning the torso armor to legs made the forms too bulky for stunts foe the most part (Boost and Ninja seemed pretty non-intrusive for that), so using two large buckles wasn’t practical. I do wish they made two different halves, to make using two big buckles more active, but eh, the series works.
Here’s hoping Gotchard makes some good waves, and thank you for making such a fun analysis video!

I want to give geats a watch since you loved it so much but I'm kinda taking a break from kamen rider at the moment and focusing more on sentai for a bit. When I do get back to it I will definitely give geats a watch
Ukiyo Ace: Now This Is The Highlight
Great video! While stumble on some parts, geats is a good show, especially with the choreography in the fights. The fights in geats are so creative and innocative, using new ideas, camera angles and using cg in a smart way. Lately fight scenes in kamen rider show are kinda the same but not with geats. Even grunt fights are so creative amd cool!

I really liked this show from the start, it was an awesome way of doing a Battle Royale Series(albeit I did get annoyed with how they were still including one-off players by the end tail of the show), and it was always fun seeing what each player would get each Episode. And I REALLY enjoyed the Arc with the Sponsors, and love how each player had their own DGP Sponsor in their corner for their own personal reasons, and how they represented the different perspectives of viewers of Kamen Rider. (Though I do wish Nago's did more)
I will say that I wasn't too big a fan of how the show wrapped up, as it kinda got pretty convoluted around the end, but overall this is definitely the best of Reiwa so far.
Geats became my fav Kamen Rider series alongside Build. Both series through the dark paths their characters went to, ended up showing me that, there's always happiness at the end, that anyone has the ability to reach happiness, and that everyone is able to bring happiness to others. And that's why I love Kamen Rider, that's why I love super heroes in general. They inspire in us, the hope that things will turn alright in the end, and that we can all live in our ideal world.

I loved Geats a lot but my local community mostly just kinda hated it and that made me really sad
While I personally didn't enjoy Geats to the same level as other seasons I watched (W, OOO, Fourze. Yes, I'm a Kamen Rider newbie), I certainly felt it was a solid season overall. First season I watched as it came out!
I loved the concepts of Geats, loved when those highlights came into the show, but there were certainly aspects of the show (mainly Geats himself) that I wish could have been handled a bit better. Overall, happy to have Ace'd with everyone.
Honestly, I think that the the core idea of the show was fighting against the hierarchy, and trying to achieve your goals despite people wanting to stop you, just because they believe you’re not as good as them. So Suel and Jitt, despite being deadpan villains who just want to essentially watch the world burn for no reason besides pandering towards the audience, they do it very well, and it kinda makes me like them a bit more. The truth and honesty in Jitt’s motivations, in that he simply wanted to see a bad end for the characters because there are people out there who are fans of that, and that he fights so hard for such a simple yet monstrous reason, makes me love to hate him even more. And Suel is the embodiment of the type of person Jitt is fighting for, because he simply wants to watch humanity destroy itself in greed. He takes advantage of humanity’s desperation for happiness, and that’s why Geats is the perfect antithesis to that. At first, he just wants to find out about his past, but then it evolves into saving his mom, and then stopping the DGP for her sake, despite even his friends wanting it to remain, to giving his life to fulfill his mother’s wish. It starts out with him being pragmatic and a little selfish, using his friends even if in the end he wants to help them as well, to full on ascending beyond his greed, to fulfill a wish that wasn’t even originally his own. Tycoon is great as an anti-villain, and his mental collapse showing the side of him that wants to give into his human nature of greed is amazing, as it was foreshadowed months earlier in the crossover movie, with his greed being giving up on the happiness of everyone just to save his sister. Na-Go is great, because instead of being the focus of greed in her story, she instead has to deal with the fallout of her parents’ treachery, losing sight of who they are to get back their daughter, and having to accept that she isn’t truly their original daughter. And her father finally trying to atone for what he did, helping to complete her arc of self-acceptance, and being able to feel the love she longed for, is awesome. Buffa is honestly kinda tragic, becoming what he hates most to try and end something truly evil. He let his despair over his best friend dying turn him into a killing machine, hellbent on destroying the DGP, even if it meant destroying every rider, no matter the consequences. But it also lead to him being able to believe in others again, and learning from his mistakes. And the fact that his full turncoat back into a hero, a bit slowly, but not that slow, with him going on a bit of a jyamato killing spree after he kills Sara on accident, is what turns Tycoon into a villain, and he’s the one who has to reteach Tycoon to trust and believe in others is a perfect arc for him honestly.
Seeing double slowly creep it's way up the list is kinda funny to me.
I like how this serie played with the meta concept they had, like the 2 command twin buckle fight and the moment where both geits and lopo used boost, with the latter using reverse fever, arguably the only buckle with a given side, in revolve mode, or how geats actually took the "dead rider will return for crossover anyway" and made it a plot point for the end.
all buckles, even the armed equipment, felt useful and story relevant all the way though, which is very rare, given historically how many powerup just stop being used, especially if introduced early. command twin couldn't avoid the curse of falling by the wayside, and similar for the fever form for everyone but buffa, but this time there was some superficial reason; the name of the 'mono use' riders were mostly not good, but you can't have it all, the only bad name that had some impact was 'nadge-sparrow'. whish they showed ben&john transformation and rider form, at this point is like they are trying to tempt us with a special about gyago.
one thing that I noticed, is the managerial meddling in the latter moments of the serie: plot point getting moved around beside the moment it makes sense, unexplained hard limitation that just aren't when the plot requires it, riders not being referenced even in name while they should have, no pointing out that the trio saved in the fight against kekera is the counterpart to keiwa's second round rejoin, the whole thing with glare and glare2 being pointless with the introduction of redguard (and the horrible misuse of gazer's power. only in the last battle we see some real fighting).

This is the first KR show that I've actually finished in its entirety. Blade and Ryuki are the ones I've watched as a kid but I didn't really finish them cus they were just on Cartoon network at the time and the episodes are not in order. This show actually rekindled my love for tokusatsu in general cus I've been really particular with my tokusatsu series since I've watched almost all the Power Ranger shows and one Super Sentai show (Go Onger) and I'm just glad Geats was a lot more unique as a rider show. I'm looking forward to the two new movies coming soon and I will watch Gotchard.
I got into Wendover Production's Jetlag: The Game around the show started and took part in an interesting game nearly a year (release date is presently unknown. Maybe I'll rejoin the Discord because I'm out of the Toku loop having dropped Twitter/X and some people might like it). I also got the idea early on that there might be a family history with Nago as well as Geats that I took to heart in my adaption (which leads into the summer movie which is more a focus on Nago's family and the strained relationship between her grandfather and Great-Grandfather-but Nago, and the DGP overall, still has a messed up twist)
Kamen Rider Geats was the first Kamen Rider show I watched while it was airing. It was definitely my favorite Kamen Rider show so far. I love the twists. Now I wonder how Gotchard will be handled.
Toei: hmm, it seems some of our most successful shows have confident main characters like decade and geats, and darker stories like gaim and geats.......... let's only do them once every 10 years
gotta love how Keiwa feels compelled to wear black clothes and an earing and change his hair when he's sad and mad, then gets compelled to undo all of those when he's happy again. Reminds me of how Kiya needed to change his hair to fool Cronus into thinking he was evil

I mean not everyone is going to be mentioned, and like we got a Special Episode that basically dedicated to his backstory that tells us he doesn't have any complicated wish. He just want to be a rockstar, man.
So like while the personally a cool rider, he's still as side character as Lopo. Daichi is just overused as a side rider imo, like his Jyamato corruption arc cool (but cannot replace Archimedes frfr) but his redemption is forced to be inserted in Keiwa's redemption key plot.

Aside from the disastar arc and Nudge Sparrow redemption, i had an utter blast with this show. Not to mention the second rider (first being W) show to make me cry.
Neon is one of my favorite female riders of all time but man did she suffer from a trope I call "The Rider Girl curse." It's a very broad trope (that I formed through following the show for the past 6 years) that states: "All female riders are either movie exclusive, evil, or a good guy that is not as good as the other riders (the final rule also applies to "bad guys turned good.") From one-offs like Dark Necrom Yellow to freaking Neon or Jeanne, it does not matter what development they have, chances are their victories (if they have any) are for THEIR story, a minor plot point, or mostly done outside of costume. It's especially frustrating in Reiwa with "tertiary female riders" that are easily surpassed by "the real third rider." Zero One: Jin, Revice: technically Daiji (but mainly the several Demon Driver riders), and now Geats: Michinaga. Thankfully, female riders are usually pretty good by themselves and stick out for being great or memorable characters - hell, I love Jeanne and Aguilera: Girls Remix more than the entirety of Revice - but man did I feel this "Rider Girl Curse" during the *Among Us arc* in Geats. Like... I feel most people forgot it because it was a shorter arc that had "small big plot points" and was sandwiched between very memorable arcs but *wow* when they revealed the Traitor did I go "OH COME ON (which ultimately did not play much part in the grander story, might I add. They just picked who they picked and went 'Sure')!" It's something I hope Rider at least steers away from once. Literally just defeating a monster of the arc or big villain outside the the first 15 episodes would work to "break the curse."
Edit: (I do get why they do this too since Kamen Rider is a "boys show" but still.) Also, Nago Fantasy form is one of my favorite rider forms in terms of power. Such a creative and fun debut fight.
Honestly bujin sword and the various boost forms will be my favorite designs the standby sounds were fire too

I really liked the first and last episode of Geats. The command form isn't bad, its just not at the level of Assault hopper, Dragonic knight, and Barid rex. The second arc wasnt interesting till Geats get his super form then it became interesting. There are alot of riders with capes. The main boss or villain is not on par or top with zero one and saber main boss but Geats fights were awesome.
Question: why didn't you ever do rider potential for Drive and Ex-Aid?

I just started Geats I am really enjoying it I grew up on super sentai on a less than legal site the Japanese version of dino charge was so good and that lead me to the original Kamen Rider manga
Just side note some higher tier upgrades are like percentage chance and their adaptibility to their core id. Like geats luck makes him available to some powerful upgrades like magnum and boost. Command belt is like only given by an admin so its limited, Some of them are merged with the id core of the rider, so some of them uses their adapted one based on the current event of the game. Hope you understand mate.
I kinda think that this should've been the 50th Anniversary now, because of what you said about the concept of what it means to be a Kamen Rider
Now that the show is complete I will watch it in it’s entirety. Here’s my 2 cents for what I’ve seen so far. For me this has one of the better looking kamen rider suits in the past ten years. I like how you can tell half their suit is missing which I actually like because it doesn’t look too bulky or flamboyant. I miss the days where a kamen rider was leaner looking instead of a hulking suit of armor with thunder bits on it. Love the whole squid game gameshow vibe. Reminds me of alot of Kamen Rider Ryuki, people who join the game who seek a wish and are aware of the consequences of losing. I’ll say this, Naago has the best looking female rider outfit, chefs kiss. A close second is Yaiba’s fighting jackal form, also badass. Hadn’t had a aesthetically pleasing looking female rider since Kamen rider Femme in my opinion. Also cool to see Time Fire again and his fantasy form. 😂
I really like Geats but by the time the JGP got started I felt that the constant switching between games was getting kinda repetitive. I still love the characters but I felt like it could’ve been better if the games were a bit longer during the show’s 2nd half.

I really wanted to like this show, but it just ended up okay to me. I have fairly similar opinions as Thomas, but with a different overall opinion. Credit where it's due, the majority of the show just had minor issues to me. However there was A LOT of them, so it ruined my enjoyment. One of which was that the DGP and its games don't make a whole lot of sense when you really think about it. It's kinda in the nitpicking territory, because you can definitely ignore a lot of the issues, but I'm a person who likes when systems are thought out, and the writers didn't really think it out too well. It's, again, not terrible, they serve their purpose and they're fine, this was more of a personal thing. Though the time Buffa pulled out Command after about 2 game resets, a partial world hard reset, and Ace saying they don't have any buckles is an egregious example. I feel because I couldn't ignore these issues, I couldn't enjoy it as much as other people have. In addition to some other actual issues I had.
As for the actual negatives, I love the gimmick as much as anyone else, but I felt they underutilized it. In the first 2 or so quarters they did a good job of mixing up the buckles and treating them like "random loot", but they just stopped at some point and only did it occasionally. Instead giving them their "main" Buckle most of the time. They also didn't use two buckles as much they could've. Sure, a show doesn't need to use its gimmick to be good, but I feel around the last few arcs it was sort of an after thought and tacked on. One example would be the Boar Rider Keiwa beats in one hit. It would've been better, imo, if he had Boost and Chain Array. For one it would explain why he could destroy so much in so little time, it would really add to the idea "anyone can use anything", and it would also make Bujin Sword seem a little stronger because he beat a person with Boost in one hit. But, because he's a very minor character he was relegated to just a small Buckle instead of a large one despite the fact some were free to use prop wise. I also felt a fair amount of the twists/developments were more so done for shock value and spectacle than actually being substantial. Similar to the DGP, I feel the whole wish thing was confusing and not well explained. On the surface it makes sense (i.e. "wishes/desires are granted by using other wishes/desires") but, if you think about it some of it doesn't make sense, contradicts itself, and kinda feels they made stuff up along the way. As for the DGP itself, though my issues were again mostly minor albeit many, there was a few quirks that made me think the DGP is just poorly set up and ran. Assuming that's true, it ironically fixes a lot of the issues (i.e. the Vision Driver being fingerprint activated when replicating fingerprint technology exists). If not, then that's an issue, naturally. The JGP was pretty bad, it never felt like Buffa was ever "challenged" in terms of a competition. I didn't expect him to but they play it up as a competition Also, it feels very skewed and "rigged" given even normal Pawn Jamato are participating, and they're up against ranked Jamato. There could be the argument Beroba is just doing it for fun, but why even have competition at that point? Maybe "because she's crazy", but that's not interesting.
As for the main characters, Michinaga/Buffa's writing was all over the place. It might have been intentional cause even he's confused himself, but I knew early on (partly cause I read the character blurbs) he wasn't a "bad guy", but during the middle portion he's written like a villain with little "gray". Similarly, Ace wasn't entirely a jerk, but he kinda just suddenly became best friends with everyone. Not even in a natural way, and it wasn't, again, "out of left field" but it just "happened". Neon was overall good, but had some weird hiccup of repeating her self love arc right after concluding that. Keiwa got shafted the most. I hyped him up as Gattack 2, but he was disappointing. He started off pretty good, but just became comic relief for a whole arc only to become an anti-villain in the next. The issue isn't him being an anti-villain it's the sheer contrast of comic relief to anti-villain. The seeds were certainly there, but the execution and pay off to get to that point was pretty bad. It's worse than Daiji's similar arc. Daiji skipped a step, but still made sense. Keiwa, on the other hand, really feels like the writer's forgot about him and relegated him to a punchline then remembered the show was ending in 10 episodes so rushed him into Bujin. He ended up okay though. The Supporters were pretty good. Kekera is a bit weak, and I honestly feel was kind of a retcon. Up until he became a villain, he was leaning towards "good", but because he didn't really have an established personality they wiggled in him being one. He wasn't bad, but it just felt a little strange.
The absolute best thing about the show to me was the idea that the present (past in relation to the sponsors) is seen as just any old era the same way we see, and similarly toy with, other historical eras. People often forget or even don't know people from the past don't have the same ideas, beliefs, and norms. Heck, people commonly project modern ideas onto them, but that's a whole other can of worms and rather political. The worst part about this is, I don't see many people get this part of the show.
I do have one complaint. Why is Geats, Tycoon and Nago clever names yet Buffa is just Buffalo without tha lo. WHERES HIS LO????
Geats is a literal genius. Tycoon wants to be a hero. Naago is a rockstar content creator. Buffa just wants to get stuff over with and can’t be bothered with theatrics like having a clever name. (That’s my theory, anyway.)

I was referencing one of the minis episodes were Geats Buffa and Tycoon did a set of challenges, and one of them was giving a rousing speech about being a rider, and Buffy’s whole speech was why was his name just Buffalo with the lo removed, and Tsumari was like “damn, he noticed”

Kamen Rider Geats what can I say except it’s the only season this era I’ve loved, Zero-One is good, Saber I like a lot, Revice is honestly kind of just mid for me, but Geats I love so much, is it muddy after the first half, yes but to me it’s not as bad as the workplace competition arc in Zero-One, Saber did have an excellent middle but the finale was alright, Revice is the same except worse because nine times out of ten they just forget about other characters, like Hiromi had so much in that first 20 or so episodes, but then he’s just forgotten about, George I’m mixed on because of Juuga alone, the Deadmans trio does get good character development though, and Vice’s finale was great, but with Geats, the main characters, the action, the suits, it was amazing, Geats is easily in my top 5 of Kamen Rider

If i'm gonna describe every Rider's season made by Yuya Takahashi it will be like this. Ex-Aid is arguably his popular work (though i do think the season itself was Overrated), Zero One is arguably his weakest work according to fans (even thought this is kinda a hot take, but i like Zero One a bit more than Ex-Aid), and Geats is easily his Magnum (no pun intended) Opus.
So if i'm gonna rated all three of his shows i give Ex-Aid an 8,4/10 ; Zero One an 8,5/10 ; and Geats an 8,9/10.
Zero-One has a STRONG START, but its latter episodes jittered due to the start of COVID pandemic.
I just thought the bujin sword arc or whatever felt randomly outta place, and then the ending I felt like didnt answer some questions I had or thought about. This season was really interesting, but I thought it kind of fell off near the end.

They worked on a few episodes of both seasons. Neither were the head writers of those seasons and had involvement in many other beloved toku seasons. Do not push this narrative.

Overall, this season was better than the first three Reiwa rider seasons we got. The previous seasons had bad writing.
I stopped watching kamen rider for a while, i had no one to talk to and dont want to made anyone think i like kids stuff.
On the early episodes of geats i just knew it and moved on, but after graduating and moving to another school i met someone who likes kamen rider too.
I was just swerving around kamen rider info for a while until i decided to watch 30+ episodes of geats in a week on my final 10th grade exam 😂
After that i sometimes delay watching for 2-3 weeks so i could just more than 1 episodes at a time, the story made me push through watching like 5 episodes a day, the forms, the plot everyrhing was so good, nothing was expected, geats was amazing

My one criticism of Geats is that the final boss kinda sucks. Like with the Game Masters, Mr Sheep and Nadge-Sparrow, and Beroba and Kekera, they’re all very interesting antagonists that affect the plot in different ways, but during watching the last couple episodes I completely forgot Suel even existed as a character
Considering how good geats was I'm home gotchard manages to go even further or at least keep up with the quality geats had

I’m surprised seeing few mention the cool visuals/action scenes of the season. As someone getting back into Kamen Rider recently, the thing that caught my eye was how dynamic and flashy the fights were, everything just looked so cool! Are there other seasons with fight scenes this good?

Was an excellent season. Every episode was entertaining asf with lots of plot twists, revelations and quality action. There's so much intriguing mystery surrounding everything since the beginning, I even thought at some moments Geats was the bad guy and Keiwa was the true protagonist. Then wow Ace is actually a really good guy, omfg Keiwa was became Kaneki from Tokyo ghoul, wtf.
Kamen Rider Geats was so cool that I think is affecting the new season lol Gotchard looks very lame.
