What a rousing rendition this was my grandmother's and my fathers favorite hymn. Quincy is all grown up now and directing a choir for a big episcopal church in Brooklyn.
ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT, young man. As an organ tuner/tech myself (but not really an organist) I can easily see/hear the talents you have within yourself -- and I THANK YOU for sharing them with the rest of us out here on Planet Earth.
Bravo young man. I grew up in a Baptist church our organist was excellent on the pipe organ and Hammond. I remember my grandmother and other ladies would scream with joy as he played this hymn.
Congratulations! Love to see such a talent at the organ! Your arrangement sounded excellent. I especially enjoyed the transposition between the verses. Keep up the good work! Looking forward to hearing some more of your playing! Greetings from Moon Twp., PA!
BRAVO! Well Done! Keep up the great work. It is a great pleasure seeing young people perform on the King of Instruments. It has been said that this is a dying art. From one organist to another, I know the art is in safe hands. Spread the enthusiasm and keep on playing! May you continue to be blessed so richly! RG
Wow man, that was awesome! Throw a prelude in the opening and you'll have a masterpiece. I'm glad that you play it with strength. I can see that you are using the organ to "sing" the lyrics and you know what they mean. Can't stand to hear this played softly. Thanks for posting this! X^)
Organ is at St. Ann and the Holy Trinity Episcopal church in Brooklyn, NY. It's an Aeolian Skinner built organ. The ranks I'm not sure of. I do know it's a tracker organ. And thank you all for your wonderful comments!
I have never heard a better version of my favourite hymn. It is more beautiful played by a young Christian man. God bless you for sharing.
Beautiful in the Name of the Risen Lord!

Great Quincy...too much body movement while playing...the didn't like the fancy yiipo[uio at the ending....Keep it conservative.... Great though..
I was taught never to rewirte the composers music. Always play the music as written
