Not defending him, but suspending or expelling students before concluding the investigation opens the university to civil litigation. Chairman of the board of a university is the protector of the university as a business. They don’t need to say we will take action because it’s already in writing, probably in the student handbook.

I went to Rutgers Newark. When we tried to advertise a Hillel, students would rip the flyers down. Administration did nothing. The Hillel President had to personally reach out to those with Jewish-sounding names and the Hillel never materialized.

I don't like her on this issue, she clearly isn't standing for free speech. As conservatives we have to be consistent, we decry "hate speech" laws/rules and yet on the jewish issue we embrace it? Not me, I will remain consistent. I will not demand safe spaces, I will not demand cancellations. I do draw the line at violence, harassment and intimidation. There are gray zones where these lines get crossed, I understand that. Like when Riley Gaines was chased after giving a talk on the west coast and had to hide out in a room with police. That is an example of crossing the line. If anyone were to do the same against a jewish student I would react the same. Chanting in the schoolyard from the river to the sea doesn't cross any lines for me because I know the same rules would be used against speech I agreed with.
