  • In this video I go through the OCR A level Chemistry 2022 paper 1 (Periodic table, elements and physical chemistry) paper.
    I've added chapters to the video for ease of access to the questions you need to go through as this is quite a long video.

    1:06:34 I'm no chemistry expert but i don't think it needs to be a drastic negative to be feasible at all temperatures. Temperatures bellow 0K are physically not possible as it would mean the particles have negative energy so if the required temp is any number that is negative I'm pretty sure its feasible at all temps.

    • @ChemKit
      @ChemKit  Місяць тому +1

      Yeah that was pointed out before by someone else but that is true, it is impossible as the particles have no kinetic energy but thanks for pointing that out!

    for 1:11:44 why dont we multiply 500 by avagadros constant. Condisering the units its kj divide by mols so to get rid of moles wont you times by 1 mol(avagadros) ?

    • @randomuser12455
      @randomuser12455 Місяць тому

      u divide because it is kg/mol and mol X avagadro constant is number of molecules so in theory if you divide by avagadros constant you would be doing (kj)/(mol X avagadro constant) which is equal to kj/molecule kj per molecule which is just kj as molecules do not have a unit

    for 7 tho, say we didnt know it was exothermic, how would we differentiate from it being pos or neg

    • @ChemKit
      @ChemKit  2 місяці тому

      From the equation we can see it’s a combustion reaction because an alkane reacts with oxygen to produce co2 and h2o and combustion reactions are always exothermic

    at 2hrs 6mins why did you multiple mol by 5 for CaCO3 because if its 1:5 wouldn't you divide by 5?

    • @ChemKit
      @ChemKit  2 місяці тому

      Because to produce one mole of Z you need 5 moles of CaCO3

    • @ChemKit
      @ChemKit  2 місяці тому

      Because you can notice this by the calcium’s Z has 5 calcium’s whereas CaCO3 has 1

    For No.10 it says that it’s condensation of ammonia gas, would that not mean that it’s H2(g) + 3N2(g) = 2NH3(g)? Or is my equation wrong?
    P.s thanks for the video it’s great!

    • @ChemKit
      @ChemKit  Місяць тому

      As you said it’s a condensation reaction it’s a physical change of NH3 not a combination of the products you mentioned to form NH3. So for condensation it would be NH3(g) => NH3(l)
      Hopefully this makes sense and thank you hope the video helped!

    in question 4 as oxygen is O3 why do we still divide it by 32 as we would O2 it really confuses me as surely we should divide by 48

      Is this for the multiple choice question 4?

    • @ChemKit
      @ChemKit  2 місяці тому +1

      use the Gibbs formula delta G=delta H - T delta S. then equate delta G to 0 to find the temperatures of feasibility and then rearrange for T delta S. that's how he got to that stage. hope that helps
