I remember on a school trip to Yorkshire. We were walking in York down the old street known as The Shambles when we found a bookshop. Some of us dived in and quickly found the Fighting Fantasy section. During the rest of the week we shared the books. One that I got was the "Fighting Fantasy" book and gave me my first taste of being what was basically the Dungeon Master (Dalathorn)
Being a Yank, I didn’t have the same exposure (more’s the pity). I really wish I had. Despite having much more stuff here in the States, I really wish I’d had FF and Warlock and Proteus every month in ‘84 to ‘87! Heheh! If ya love FF, as my Yank self now does, ya may enjoy the lil clone of the FF intro rpg, Spellzard! It’s so good! (I’ve zero to do with the creator). But it keeps the FF spirit fully alive and deserves to be acknowledged.
@@TheBattlinBarrowGaming I hope ya do. It’ll take so little of your time and I’ll bet you’ll instantly feel the inherent nostalgia and enjoy how solid it is as a system overall.
Tales of Middle Earth there was just something special about those books compared to similar type books. The drive of the story and the artwork - the total package lol
Hi, I have a brand new copy of Casket of Souls and The Tasks Of Tantalon. They where, with the first print runs of fighting fantasy books (the first 7), The World of Titan and Out oF The Pit, in a storage box for the last 40 years or so. What do you think of the first two books I mentioned? I cant find anything on them, do you know anything about them? Thank you.

Great video! I love the new art. If I was forced to choose I’d stick with the old, but having both is best.
