Exactly how I’m feeling after discovering Gnosis after discovering Jesus of Nazareth after leaving Islam since I was born into it. My intention was to only seek knowledge for self betterment & fulfillment here I am to be blessed with this incredible lecture 🙏🏼
I'm a gnostic Christrian and this is a nice easy to listen talk. Gnosticism is such an easy to understand belief foe me. I perceive it has as follows - in order for God/ Oneness to understand itself it needs to become self aware by creating the concept of "seperation", which needs to become self aware out of free choice and remember that it's a fragment of God/ Oneness. The fake concept of the duality of the two "worlds" (oneness/ seperation) is a beautiful thing when you realise it's all an illusion and we are all one - you simply have to treat others how you want them to treat you and have unconditional love and life becomes divine then.
This is truly extraordinary. For years I've been trying to understand the fundamentals of Gnosticism, unsuccessfully. This extraordinary lecture explains these fundamentals perfectly. Thank you, sir, for a wonderful lecture.
Gnosticism is so fascinating. And from my direct experience, very true. Funny how the mass of Christianity says Gnosticism is heresy. Blind leading the blind. Gnosticism, Advaita Vedanta, real Buddhism, A Course in Miracles, are the same curriculum in different forms. For those yearning for Union and Knowledge I bow to you in love and respect, and pray you find in this lifetime...
Where I can find these "nauseaningly academic" views on Gnosticism? I only find esoteric weirdos and Evangelical preaches and Bible school professors talking about/against it.

It is amazing how much this gnostic version of christianity has in common with modern magick traditions and eastern traditions. The idea of oneness as the highest mode of being and how it is divided from the lower "eons" (compare with the higher spheres of the qabalistic tree of life). The idea that the human spirit is a reflection of "the one" in its truest form but can not see it in the worldly state of mind and so much more. Also the idea of vowels and vibration in rituals is used commonly in modern ritual magick as in the rituals proposed for example by the golden dawn.
so happy i came across this one. very perfect since i come from a Christian view, i love the knowledge that i have gained. this makes more sense to me looking from both sides. Thank you and appreciate your heart in your work. cant wait to read your book.

Any other Christians on here who understand the textural history of the gospel accounts. Right away with this integration of Matthew, Mark, and Luke and his take on it I see a problem. The three were written about the same accounts but from three different perspectives and this immediately insinuated that they 'copied' from one another. Anyone else notice this issue?

The end is where the beginning is, is a beautiful clue. As when you discover in the origional Jewish Torah book of Genesis the very first word is "beginning" and when you discover that Jewish letters all have a meaning of their own, you will discover that Jesus was in this very first word of Genesis. Praise be to God in his majestically magnificent wisdom he put everything in plane sight for those with eyes to see and ears to hear. Jesus said that he told us who he is from the very beginning and He certainly did Hallelujah!!!
I was thinking how similar the Gnostic view of Ascension is, to the Bardo of the Buddhists because you meet the wrathful deities and all kinds of deities and you have to know the right words to pass them by and continue on and when you see the light you have to recognize the light as being you and you're not to get distracted by the deities nor anything else for that matter, because that will send you back to the Earth again and another life.
Thank you so much, your lecture is so enlightening and easier to understand. Especially the Nag Hammadi - so broken before but you put it together in a more palatable way. I'd like to get your book. Thank you again.
25:00 - it's all very interesting as a concept but I can't make head nor tail of what is being said! I mean I don't understand any of the ACTUAL meaning ...has anyone done a complete interpretation of what any of these writings actually mean not just a word for word translation of what we've got available?
Wonderful lecture! A lot of clarity in such a complex topic. Many thanks to Mr Caruana and the Vienna Academy of Visionary Art for sharing this fantastic material!
I find it interesting that Gnosticism doesn’t seem to touch on the cross of Jesus Christ. This may just be my own ignorance on Gnosticism, and maybe it does, but was not touched on in this presentation. There does however, seem to be a big emphasis on circles. Makes me think of GK Chesterton’s discussion about the cross vs circle in Orthodoxy: “As we have taken the circle as a symbol of reason and madness, we may very well take the cross as a symbol at once of mystery and health. Buddhism is centripetal, but Christianity is centrifugal: it breaks out. For the circle is perfect and infinite in its nature; but it is fixed for ever in its size; it can never be larger or smaller. But the cross, though it has at its head a collision and a contradiction, can extend its four arms for ever without altering its shape. Because is has a paradox in its center it can grow without changing. The circle returns upon itself and is bound. The cross opens its arms to the four winds; it is a signpost for free travelers.” G.K. Chesterton, Orthodoxy
Damnably interesting, I finally feel somewhat educated on this ancient lore. (It almost feels familiar). @ 1:15:00 the mention of "demons" orchestrating movement forcibly reminded me of the "daemons" computers use to organize and execute functions. While highly irrational, there may even be a kernel of deeper truth buried under all the allegorical imagery. Earth is certainly dank, but I rather balk at the idea that the _entire Universe_ is the misbegotten construct of a misbegotten Entity. That seems...too narrow. Yet squinting between the lines, I see vague parallels between certain aspects of this and the lunatic-fringe of Edgar Cayce and other dubious "channelled" works and modern apocrypha (like The Roswell Interview), outlining the "Fall" of individuated non corporeal Entities from a higher state; having laid-aside Their powers (so They could "play in the the mud" without vaporizing everything from the power of Their minds) and wound-up trapped and ensnared in Their own creations...and those of other manipulative Entities. While I obviously "believe" in Consciousness, I've become rather ambivalent towards the notion of a singular "God," NDE stories notwithstanding. (The God-concept sure has proven toxic to human affairs, I'm with the Atheists on that fact). Very good presentation, man! It's worth watching again.
This was wonderful. Thank you so much. Right now I'm reading Revelations of the Unknowable God, a Gnostic text. This book was written by Karen King, one of the academics you mentioned. The parts I understand are so inspiring, and I recognize the higher truth in them. However, I don't think she was clear about who the readers of her book would be. It's written, I gather, primarily for other academics in the field and she doesn't give definitions for all the specialized, technical terms only other academics would understand. I think it's a but disingenuous and deceitful when academics promote and target their books to the general public - but they are filled with technical jargon the author knows very well non-academics will not have a clue what they mean. Still, I gleaned some nuggets of great value from it. I really appreciate that you spoke slowly, paused after making a point so we could reflect on it, and in many ways made the Gnostic codices more understandable. There is so much here to unpack I bookmarked this url and will be watching it over again. Thanks again.
Expanding your vocabulary is something to strive for. Academic vocabulary provides a definition and a platform and a foundation for clarity during discussion. Less interpretation and subjectivity for objective critical thinking.
Dear beloved commenter, I 💯agree, him allowing a little time for reflection between thought-provoking conjectures IS a very important aspect of watching a video lecture. Sincerely sarcastic, Your pal, -Pause ⏸
I believe that the role/ influence of Egyptian cosmology was glossed over a little hastily and predates what we consider early Christianity/Gnosticism- the Pert Em Hru - outlines a worldview from which you can see the evolution/obsfucation through the geographical political cultural changes in power and obviously- how these dynamics write both History, and Religion... and I notice the thread running through Plato and definitely in the work of Jung- but also ( at least in my opinion ) in writers like Toni Morrison ...So interesting...Fantastic lecture- thank you!!! Your explanations are really impressive with a subject matter so complex.
Man my mom had a dream when some greek philosophers or monks told her I was a gnostic kid, then she turns her view to me and when I looked her I opened a third eye and a blinding light got over that 3rd eye. It was when I was like 7 or 8, she said she never heard that word before. At 21 I discovered that I actually was a gnostic individual, bc one night watching south park I noticed they made a reference to the agnostics. Then I searched for the 2 terms and yeah... it was at that moment when I realized all my life I've been living as a gnostic individual even if I never learned nothing about the gnostic creed lol I'm 23 now and I feel life's getting even more interesting day by day. There's always something new to learn
When I was a child I asked my great auntie if she believed in God. She said she didn’t know. I asked her if she believed in hell, she said it’s more plausible that we are living in hell because of all the suffering on earth. That made so much sense to me and stayed with me ever since.
@@jlen1185 that's what El Cochiloco (the madpig) said in the movie El Infierno (the hell) "I'm sure this place is the hell"... he was a mexican narco and died in that movie. Is interesting how people around the world have almost the same thoughts
This is so comprehensive. And very enjoyable to take in. I do think however that nobody desiring to practice Gnosticism would stick strictly to ‘the text’.
In near death experiences people see a tunnel and then a bright light some even feel endless warmth and love from it and to some it talks and answers questions. I wonder if gnostic teaching are true is that the first Aeon?
I was very pleased to listen to this lecture which did very well in explaining much about A lot of beliefs surrounding gnosis It is a gallant effort and tried to simplify the total concept for someone like me to appreciate.. Thank you for inspiring lecture.

@@Outlandishoutset Bullshit! What you just said proves that you don't have an understanding. I AM a Gnostic Christian. What I KNOW is not Gnosticism. Gnosticism is the study of knowledge-any knowledge. What I speak is the Gnostic Truth. The words of Christ himself. Not from bullshit religion of which is belief, but from the Christ knowledge that are in the Gnostic gospels of Christ. Christ is a knowledge, not a belief. Believers are ignorant and can be lied to. That is why all must come to KNOW. Maybe! You can see how what makes sense is Truth. What doesn't make sense goes with belief. Peace.
But I do not understand why those graphical words describing Gnosticism in this video at about 00:45 min. are made probably to look like the sun, but for me it looks more like hell (kind of style)? (But I also hate orange streetlights at night, so that might be a personal thing?)
Orange streetlights at night, I mean - that I found both not very beautiful and somehow illogical (because the sun of the same color is also not visible, at night)
Great Video, very accurately presented. Perhaps one or two aspects had variations with the NHL, but not an issue. What I am saddened to see is that none of your books now are available in kindle format, as I think The Hidden Passion was at one time available. Now that they are not, perhaps they can be offered as kindle ebooks to be purchased, hopefully for a reasonable price for us less fortunate Gnostics, with limited means. Thanks
About the only aspect is in the beginning where the video says, "A Diversified Religious Movement", first texts shown. I do not feel that Gnosticism was religious or even per say, a movement. Do not think Sethian, Cathars, or many you point out would consider their truth religions or maybe not even movements. But nearly everything else seemed spot on target. Be blessed, see you on the other side my friend.

What's the relation?
Man my mom had a dream when some greek philosophers or monks told her I was a gnostic kid, then she turns her view to me and when I looked her I opened a third eye and a blinding light got over that 3rd eye. It was when I was like 7 or 8, she said she never heard that word before.
At 21 I discovered that I actually was a gnostic individual, bc one night watching south park I noticed they made a reference to the agnostics. Then I searched for the 2 terms and yeah... it was at that moment when I realized all my life I've been living as a gnostic individual even if I never learned nothing about the gnostic creed lol
I'm 23 now and I feel life's getting even more interesting day by day.
Is interesting how people around the world have almost the same thoughts
thankyou so much you made it so easy to understand I watched other videos but found them confusing thank you
Great lecture.
I have been looking for more information on this subject. Thank you so much for this video!
This is so comprehensive. And very enjoyable to take in.
I do think however that nobody desiring to practice Gnosticism would stick strictly to ‘the text’.
Excellent presentation, definitely a share with others. Thank you for posting this.
Mahe Ohna, ✌️ Favour ALL
This is such a wonderful lecture!! Thank u 🙏🏻
These Apocryphal text are dear to my heart. But so much is missing. Still full of esoteric teachings that gives us truths that hold true even now.
So interesting! Thank you🎉❤
Bravo! Thank you Laurence!
Amazing!! Thank you!❤
Thanks for this! I've only been tangentially aware of gnosticism via VALIS, was nice to gain a deeper understanding.
In near death experiences people see a tunnel and then a bright light some even feel endless warmth and love from it and to some it talks and answers questions. I wonder if gnostic teaching are true is that the first Aeon?
Interesting lecture, filled in alot of gaps
I was very pleased to listen to this lecture which did very well in explaining much about A lot of beliefs surrounding gnosis
It is a gallant effort and tried to simplify the total concept for someone like me to appreciate.. Thank you for inspiring lecture.
Maybe, it's because i have never experienced the after life, as far as i can remember...lol.
Yes, very interesting religion and it's truly worth a replay for me.
I find it very interesting and He has truly put together a very good presentation for such an amazing topic.
I'm reminded of St. France and his findings in his message:
"What you are looking for is what is looking".
Thanks for sharing your work, found it very interesting and your presentation was great!
Thanks, and may God bless.
True Gnostics are always has been self enlightening truth seeking spiritual people.
Well presented and valuable information shared . Thanks
Yes, the world is the hell.
The world and this universe. I have yet to find another REAl Gnostic. "The Gnostic Truth, The Sacred Secret". ua-cam.com/video/CO9v3OIFnxM/v-deo.html.Peace.
the universe, evidently
@@AWikkedMoon the MAN thing is weird tho, how do you make that work in the infinity of other languages that are not english?
@@AWikkedMoon how can you claim to be a "real" Gnostic when you clearly don't understand the true nature of gnosticism yourself?
Peace.
Absolute fantastic. Presentation! thank you very much!!
The fall of man in genesis "you shall be like God" is the beginning of gnosticism
I wish I could give this two thumbs up! I will watch a few more times just because there is so much information, but it is clear to follow.
I have yet to find another REAl Gnostic. "The Gnostic Truth, The Sacred Secret". ua-cam.com/video/CO9v3OIFnxM/v-deo.html.Peace.
The beginning of this video reminds me of the truthfulness in the making of the movie "The Exorcist".
What do you think of John Lamb Lush's interpretation on Gaiatv's, Sophia Returning: The Path to Planetary Tantra?
Wow! These is so much to this philosophy.
Succinct and thorough...👏 Brilliant presentation 🧐
I'm hoping this will help me to better understand 'A Voyage To Arcturus' by David Lindsay.
thank you for sharing this
Wonderful! Been a humble student since age 20. My bunnies ate my book The Pistis Sophia Unveiled 😭
THAT WAS AWESOME!!!
Wow very detailed.
This lecture deserves much more views. Thanks!
