Man I wanna move out there to be a part of such a robust church that doesn't stand to the tyranny and corruption of this nation. This ignites a fire in me!
You say: 'Is that a Presbyterian Pastor smashing clay pots with a baseball bat?' I say: 'Yes, that is a Presbyterian Pastor smashing clay pots with a baseball bat!!!'
Notice, though...The pots are broken, as rebellious pots should be. But then, at the very end, they are reassembled. God can break a sinner and rebuild him as a righteous man. God can crush a sinner in his sin and raise him up again in Christ. The way he did with all of us.

Had me at 'Jenny Geddes'. I'm a sucker for semi-obscure Reformation-era references. And also the hook was well done here, which is really half the battle. All this to say: a strong start!
After having listened to this several times over the last many months, I think I’ve got to learn it and sing it at a Roots music festival where we’re planning on singing later this year. Are the words and chords available anywhere?
I don't think so. I think we just put together riffs by ear, etc. The words are pretty clear on the track, so you could probably just write those down. Not sure if Wilson still has them in print or written form.
@@MrChestertonian Thanks. I will listen to the recording and get it that way. I’m still concerning learning it someday. Sometimes we surprise our church family with “out of the ordinary” songs in order to shake up the stagnation. It really is a cool song.
"(The band) represent the one who overcomes, and who in Christ rule with a rod of iron (Rev. 2:27). They are kings and priests on the earth, with baseball bats. But don’t overlook the redemptive themes in the video. They are very important. We put them there for a reason . . ." DW
"The older shall serve the younger" A recurring theme in scripture where the firstborn is replaced.(Cain by Seth, Ishmael by Isaac, Esau by Jacob) ie Adam (means clay: dead dust mixed with water which returns to dust when the water of life is gone) replaced by "The Son of Man. So the pots being broken while new wet clay is formed is great symbolism.
Every time I see it, I think how incredible The Lord is, as the potter who molds and makes us. Whomever had the idea to break the pots made by man is brilliant.
So theres a Q and A session on youtube called regarding Doug's book called "Rules for Reformers" (based on a similar name by radical leftist, Obama influencer Saul Alinsky, "Rules for Radicals") in which he explained this music video is based on the pot and potter in Romans 9:19-24.
Nice song. I have a question about the line "The di are cast." (This is the spelling in the posted lyrics.) Are you talking about casting a die, i.e., a mold? Or are you talking about throwing dice? It seems that the line should be "The dies are cast" or "The dice are cast." Or perhaps "The die is cast," which would necessitate a change in the next line as well. ???
💗16For God so loved the world that He gave His one and onlye Son, that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. 18Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe has already been condemned, because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. 19And this is the verdict: The Light has come into the world, but men loved the darkness rather than the Light because their deeds were evil. 20Everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come into the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. 21But whoever practices the truth comes into the Light, so that it may be seen clearly that what he has done has been accomplished in God.”
The Sovereign right of God. "Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour? What if God, willing to shew his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much longsuffering the vessels of wrath fitted to destruction: And that he might make known the riches of his glory on the vessels of mercy, which he had afore prepared unto glory," Romans 9:21-23 KJV

I really like this music, but aren’t these the same guys who criticize other churches for not singing psalms? Isn’t this just what evangelical churches do? Maybe I am ignorant, but I have heard y’all really dig into other churches and what music they worship with. Isn’t this the same thing? High emotional music designed to elicit a response.
No. These people aren't a monolithic cult for one. (Media stories notwithstanding.) Secondly, while they do criticize folks for not singing Psalms, they are not adherents of exclusive Psalmody. Hymns and other spiritual songs are great, too. Just not preferable to the Word of God. Third, this isn't a song for corporate worship. That would be out of place, and embarrassingly cheesy, frankly. It's just a plain ol' bluesy rock tune - intended to be fun while making a rather cheeky point against our beloved Arminian brethren. ;)
And I trust that MollyEunice will agree with the sentiment that MollyEunice is not God. But this is (or should be) so obvious that I am felt wondering: *Just what point is **#MollyEunice** trying to make here?* Perhaps she will deign to clarify.

I thought the Presbyterian church was woke and pro new world order.

Excellent. All of it, the song, the idea, the band, the video photography. Blessed me to tears. Wow.
My favorite “one hit wonder” lol
Doug does it all! Praise God!
When I thought I couldn’t love Doug Wilson much more 😮
My thoughts exactly!!!
Sing it Pastor Doug!!! Calvinist Blues!
It is refreshing to hear Christian music that is actually Biblically based. Amen.
Some people choose to smoke pot, but Doug chose to smoke those pots
My kids ask for this to be played almost every day.
"Keep the lid on" ... priceless.
11 months since I first watched it and it us still the most glorious piece of media ever.
There needs to be a T shirt "hold your piece rebellious pot"
I love you guys more for this
Wow! Powerful lyrics and so well executed. I’m blown away. Well done!
This is amazingly good! On one level I am totally surprised to find this, and yet it is very congruous with Pastor Wilson’s general aesthetic
I keep playing thisover and over. My kind of music.
Awesome!!!!!! Give us more!!!!!!!
I'm so happy to find this.
Amen! Solid biblical stuff!
What just happened?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? AWESOME
Love it!
Brilliant guys! Love it!
