When I was in Rome (Italy) I had the good fortune to meet Indian people who were from the eastern part of the subcontinent, from Kerela upwards, but no one really from the north. Someone (had) worked there, though. They had long surnames, which even after years I am unable to pronounce. Very fine people. What intrigues me about this marvelously-singing choir is the fact that its members look so differently: - some have the almond-shaped eyes a European like me would associate with far-eastern ethnicities (Thailand, Viet Nam, China) - the lady behind the lead singer (in the centre of the row) looks like an African American. Do they belong to different ethnicities? Could anyone name them? In what language are they singing? What is the song about? Thanks in advance for any answer!
@@melodies2013 they are from the Beautiful state of Meghalaya, part of of Union of India and they are also called from Seven Sister States , no they are all from India and no one from Africa although we have them too 😊 but in Andaman island and in pocket of Gujarat, we are varied in ethnicity . They are singing songs in Urdu (a language born and evolved in India it's a mix of Sanskrit and Persian originally called as Laskar Boli) large part of north indian spoken dialect very close to Hindi.

Actually even we like old music of Bollywood only,sang by Lata Mangeshkar, niw ar rahman ...and shreya ghoshal is good..rest Tony and other are just nepotism products..who know nothing about music..

Superb, I love all your creations. I am a north Indian but this affinity with Shillong is because long back being in central Govt Job I lived in Shillong neal the Walt's lake for about 2.5 years, a lovely place with lovely people & great talented youth, they should come in mainstream of music.
