    How do you use the Pythagorean Theorem to find ρ when a triangle has no right angles?

      In this example the angle is 90 degrees and therefore we can use the Pythagorean Theorem, but if the triangle is not a right angle triangle then you will have to use the law of sine and/or the law of cosine.

    I having trouble converting the limits into theta's boundaries.
    Its not always [0,2pi]

    As it turns out, cylindrical coordinates are quite obvious and easy to use.
    Spherical coordinates aren’t that much more complicated.
    It’s just the radius of the circle/sphere and one or two angels … easy peasy

      Yes, rho is parallel to the x-y plane and perpendicular to the z-axis

      All the unit vector are perpendicular to each other.

      Yes, many of my collegues are also beginning to show slides without writing anything down and it is not as effective (but it makes the job of the lecturer easier). Also that takes less preparation time.
