Let's build our virtual lab using GNS3VM on VMWare Workstation Player. Please let me know what do you think about this setup. Any suggestions for future topics, please comment below.
I love the Tutorial. I used VMWare Workstation Pro for this setup. It is now free for personal use. Everything works. One suggestion. Please consider running the GNS3 Web UI with the Light Theme in your tutorials. I understand why you may not use that in your work but the colored text on black background is very hard to read in the tutorial. There is simply not enough contrast between text and background even with the high def settings in UA-cam.
@@TheNetworkTrip I have a question, I am using a VMWare Workstation 17 Pro and following your tutorial but I am having a trouble when I try to Start the mikrotik in my GNS 3 it has an error that says "Hardware acceleration can only be used with the following Qemu executables: qemu-system-x86_64, qemu-system-i386, qemu-kvm". I am searching on the internet and didn't find the solution yet. I already add "enable_kvm = false" in my gns3_server.conf but still couldn't solve the issue. How do I solve this? am I have to use VMWare Workstation Player?
@@TheNetworkTrip It's work!! The solution are very simple yet I didn't think of this, it's working perfectly now. Thank you again kind sir for the very fast replied, you're getting a new subscriber.
Thank you for such clear and helpful instruction in your videos. I was able to set up the CHRs but haven't figured out how to install CRS 326 and 309 with a switch chip to test. I saw you use those in the Vlans CRS3xx video but that doesn't show the GNS3 set up for the CRS. I know I am missing something.
Hello, That is not possible. You can use the same config process than CRS3XX on the CHR. Everything works the same except that it will be using the CPU. I used a CHR simulating the 3xx for lab purposes only.
Is it better to have these images of the routers/switches/firewalls for gns3 running on local disc (computer) or a external one? I noticed you used the local disc to run the images on instead of gns3 VM, is that preference or performance or requirement? I'm running everything I install onto gns3 vm. Thank You.
Hello everything is fine ? First of all, thank you for your videos, they are amazing, I learn a lot from them. I followed the instructions in the video but when connecting the Mikrotik, at the end of the configuration a message appears of no boot device. Would you help me. Thanks
This kernel requires an x86-64 CPU but only detected an i686 CPU. Unable to boot - please use a kernel appropriate for your CPU. When I run web console on my mikrotik help
This is very cool and am going to set it up. Can I assume that once all the topology and devices are configures, I can export the configurations and then import them to the real devices?
can you do the same thing inside GNS ? i tried this tutorial and worked if i use the browser web, but if i want to do the same thing inside gns winbox can't see my qemu router. how can i solve it ?
17:23 there's cut in your video. what happen on this period of time actually? Because it just happen to me as in your screen (17:18), when i open cosole. It says : "IPXE bla bla .... booting from hardisk. Loading system..." but then it goes blank. And it will then always happen like thi. So hoow did you solve it ?

When you are creating the Mikrotik template, please make sure that you are selecting the correct Qemu binary: qemu-system-x86_64

Hello thanks. Why on vmware Virtual Machine settings we have 2 Network adapters ? and Why did you choose the host only the first and NAt the second?
Where to find image Mikrotik SW CRS354 for GNS3 ? Or it is CHR image for use ? Only rename and use?
