  • Archie comes to learn that life is much happier with his family together.
From Season 6, Episode 2 'Alone at Last': The day has come that Mike and Gloria are moving into their new home and Archie is practically pushing them out the door. Archie is being so obnoxious that Mike finally reaches a boiling point until he declares his independence and calls Archie a fathead. He and Gloria spend the night in their new home without electricity, plumbing or heat. Archie is overjoyed that the meathead is suffering but Edith's motherly instinct force her to intercede, she walks out and intends to suffer right along with the kids. Archie is all to happy to take care of himself but while making a mess in the kitchen, he runs across Gloria's bowl from when she was a baby and it melts his heart. He goes next door with a half-hearted apology and tells Mike and Gloria that they can stay at his house until the heat gets turned on.

    About All In The Family:
One of the most acclaimed comedy series of all time, All in the Family with Archie Bunker as the irascible, highly opinionated, working-class family man who viewed the world on his terms and his terms only. When not arguing with his liberal son-in-law, "Meathead," Archie took refuge in his long-suffering wife, Edith, who tries her best to understand Archie's conservative ways and outdated beliefs.

After all, Archie did tell Edith that he didn't want Gloria to be named after Jeannette MacDonald because her voice went through his head like a nail!

They suffered a major lawsuit at the peak of their popularity bc they weren’t following hygienic regulations in their trucks etc. That was kinda their downfall. After them came…. Eh… dang im trying to remember… but the next company was the first to put ice cream on a stick. The owner’s daughter said she loved the ice cream but it was way too messy so that’s where the stick part came along.
The original Good Humor ice cream used to sell “Penny Licks”. Obviously it was one cent and you got a glass cup (about the size of an eye flusher) and they would just swill it in a pan of water to “clean it” when you were done. By the end of the day the water was vile and imagine all the germs you were eating.
