Just to warn you, torpedo's can be shot down (just like the A2 bombs) so if you fire them at 5k and follow it in the turrets shooting at you might get lucky. If you want to prevent that either veer off slightly so the turrets on the hammerhead are not shooting down the same line of fire as your torpedo is coming in on, or drop the torp closer. If you fire the torpedo at 2,5k it will be very hard to dodge and the turrets will be following you so won't hit it.
but with 2.5k distance to shoot, your ship also in high risk since those supporting jets already reach you while if you didnt instant stop, before S9 trop hit, you will takes HH damage... very huge damage...
Well, ERTs are pretty dangerous, yeah. But with the new Combat Assist Beacons you can encounter something even more dangerous. You might want to try those "[CRITICAL THREAT] Beacons" with a mate or two tho. Would love to see something on that!
@@crispy9175 the appear rqndomly depending on your rank in merc and bounty hubter combined so if you have high bounty but almost no merc you wont get them and even then theirs for the WHOLE server so theirs normaly someone just waiting for them
Better hope that other people aren't scooping them up though - most servers i've been on the critical threat beacons are instantly taken due to the good payouts (and how easy they are to take out with a retaliator)
For ERTs, I run all cannons on this ship. ERTs are slow and big enough that you can hit with cannons pretty well. Make sure to set fire to stagger if you go all cannons. Cheers!
Best PvE Vanguard weapon loadout imo is 2x MVSA, 2x EVSD, 1x M7A (or any size 5 laser cannon) The only time you should run repeaters (GVSR's) is for PvP and you run it with a gimballed rhino. You still fire fixed, but you go down a size to keep the 1400m/s velocity. All size 5 weapons are 700m/s, so if you go with a size 5 on the nose, you need to run CVSA (ballistic cannon) MVSA (laser cannon) or EVSD (distortion cannon) so that they all have the same velocity. If you mix weapon velocities, you're going to be missing tons and tons of shots Edit: Also, they are shooting your torps out of the air before they hit. You need to equip Seeker torpedos (best in the game currently) and release at 3.5km. don't lock on so early, it turns them hostile. You can get much closer and they don't have time to turn on and lock the torp to shoot it down.
The AD5B gatling pairs better with cannons because of the slow (700 m/s) projectile speed. But I would go all Cannons. 4 Lasers on the nose, and either the Deadbolt 5 or the AD5B for some ballistic penetration. The Deadbolt hits like a truck, but you just have to save your ammo for when you actually need it,.
The interresting part about the missile size is that between 1-8 they seem to be pretty consistent in damage increase... then there is 9 that just goes off the scale
If you are wondering what happened to the torp at 13:59 is that the NPC managed to shoot it down. Also to anyone who knows, how do you get that missile camera seen at 15:06?
there is a keybind you can set in the same menu as the mom controls. it is called missile cam or something similar and theres a variation that follows while you hold and one that follows on a toggle
I think it would be cool if u could hire AI crew to do stuff around the ship like manning the turrets if u play solo and I think there skill would determine how much it costs to hire them also love the channel
elevators are a much more dangerous opponent and the med gurneys..or idrises, I use my HH for roc mining its unironically great at low flying and has massive fuel reserves the reload glitch you can solve by going to yela, the mining outpost 157, if its right after you login your missing missiles, store the ship go to ship edit menu, unequipt the torps, save, readd them also you can launch at ~6.5 and never miss the moment you get under 3km they will start shooting at your torps and flaring your torps move around 520m/s so their very easy to shoot down once they are engaged also close your bay after firing the bay can be damaged and you will lose the ability to launch anything from that bay
always pay attention to the shot velocities of your loadout, the last thing you want is 2 different trajectories, as if your shooting in deflection 1 will hit and the other will miss, in other words either go all cannons or go all repeaters that would mean a gimbal and an s4 repeater rather than the s5 as the s5 repeater runs at cannon velocities so there is no point for that weapon
The GVSRs and AD5B have two different projectile speeds. PIP calculation will default to the slowest (AD5B), causing you to miss with the repeaters. PvP recommended loadout is to downsize the s5 with a puck and attach a size 4 repeater with GVSRs (since size 5 laser repeaters are 700 projectile speed). PvE is up to you but since AI is predictable, most run a higher dps build with cannons. I recommend at least 2 laser weapons to remove shields (I haven't tested this patch but ballistics have reduced damage when firing through shields) and run the AD5B. And for reference, you can see the projectile issue at 4:10-4:15 fairly clearly. The pip is behind the hurricane and repeater shots land on the nose, and the misses that have the planet as a backdrop you can see don't meet the pip for a considerable period.
I've noticed you don't increase your "decoys". If you want you can increase the size (number) of decoys by holding Right ALT key and tapping H, to decrease hold Left ALT and tap H. Helps when evading multiple missiles.
I said it in the last video I think, but for my Vanguard, I like an M7A on the size 5 mount, and 4 CVSAs on the size 2 nose mounts. Set the 4 cannons to stagger fire and it's basically like a big powerful ballistic repeater alongside a cannon. It's pretty flexible and even if you run out of ammo for the cannons the M7A is devastating by itself.
I sort of feel like having your 1 ballistic on a gimbal might be a smart move. Those rounds are precious. I wouldn't do it for any sort of lasers though. I haven't tried this but it sounds good.

What are your specs? If you are running off an SSD and have 32GB of RAM you shouldn't be "lagging". There is also an issue with 12th gen Intel chips where you have to disable E-cores that could be the cause if you happen to be running one of those.

I would use Sentinel - more agile. But my setup is full laser canons. With full power to weapons I have each Cutty, warden, gladius NPC in first pass. Also U have bad setup of MFDs - this is with all vanguard - switch on both side upper with lower one. Speed with sentinel best working is 280-360 (for me), You defo fly too slow. Torp for second target was shooted - happens ;) Last one - shooted also - always go up after shoot out torp - turrets will not be in line with torp;) GG
I’ve always ran my vanguard warden with the AD5B and 4x BVRS repeaters, only missiles I changed were the size 3’s which I had changed to the Chaos III missiles

Olli43 - Pretty good video at attack in these ships. But to be honest these are NPC controlled ships and they are generally easy to kill especially since the AI still isn't up to par yet. If you really want a challenge and a good test of the ships performance then do some PVP stuff and you will get a better feel for the real performance of these ships. Because I fully manned Hammerhead with Real players in it is a lot harder to kill than one that is controlled with an AI.
A couple patches ago there was a fully manned hammerhead trolling the area around port olisar. Tons of players went after it including me. We never did kill it. I was in the Titan Avenger and could do 1 pass at a time, then limp away for a while before returning. So many turrets firing it's hard to get close and stay close. The hammerhead eventually ran.
Don't mix repeaters with cannons or gatlings. Repeaters have higher velocity and different range. You won't hit shit firing then at the same time. The Gatling you have is good, one of the best ballistic weapons and overall one of the best size 5. I'd mix them with 4 mvsa nose laser cannons and out them on staggered ( imho very important. ) Then you basically have two powerful gatlings on the ship and ammo for ages.
I'd have gone with the laser cannon. Gatling guns are big and flashy and all boom boomy, but when you've used them I noticed that you kill the absolute shit outta the first two enemies....aaaannd then the Gatling guns are out of ammo. I'm thinking the laser cannon doesn't need to carry physical ammo in terms of bullets that weigh a lot. It may need recharge time, but likely you can fire it at the start of a mission AND at the end.
I know this is unrelated but I can’t see delivery missions on my mobi glass. And not just personal delivery missions I can’t see any of them. I’ve tried everything and nothing works, I even searched it up but nothing helped, if anybody knows something about this please help me out.
The restock glitch your experiencing for the most part can be completely avoided by simply not opening/ having open, the missile operator mode while you rearm... turn it off, (so that you see the ships main guns not missiles and torps) and wait for the thing to not say "do not lift off" when that goes away your safe to leave the pad and if you check they will have restocked... spread the word!!
happens to the refuel an repair too, even with ships with no missiles. my workaround it just to keep landing at different places until it lets you do it
@@Highrollerpersa the bug he's referring to is different from that one ... the missile/ torp bug not only doesent let you rearm but it takes the missiles straight from the vehicle loadout manager and deletes them, so you literally have to buy new missiles. The equivalent would be like if you repaired and the game took your power plant or qt drive lol. It's bad.
Also just FYI full speed and release about 4.5k out HH can not evade as you do a flyby. Great camera shot as well over the wing get both ships in the shot
self destruct does more damage than ramming i seen a titan fly up to an 890 land on its hood and self destruct it took the 890 with it so if you want to take target down with no weapons try to touch your enemy and self destruct and it should work.
I would've gone with the ballistic cannon. It has a higher impact damage and at that size I believe it also does AOE damage, which helps against the Hammerheads you can encounter as ERTs. I think you'd need a M50 or Razor for ramming to work against a HH. ;)
Might be a dumb question but can anybody tell me why he's aiming outside of the pip but still getting hits?? I noticed alot of the time I have my crosshairs directly lined up and get no hits. Should I am right in front on the PIP?
Your torpedoes were shot down when the Hammerhead opened up at you. Try launching and then strafing in another direction so that weapons fire doesn't take out the missile.
When i read the title, i was expecting pirates. lol. Ive started to dabble in high jacking. Its been more hilarious than anything. I have yet to actually kill anyone, or take a ship. I have however, had some hilariously awkward moments in peoples ships and the hangars. lol. This game it too good. I have fun just hanging out in the game and seeing where it takes me. I rarely logon and do contracts first.
you can shoot missiles and torpedo's out of the sky so maybe thats what happend both times its super hard to reliably do it but with enough rounds down range the hammerhead might be able to shoot a slow moving torp
I would use the Sentenel instead, it is much more agile. Compear and you will see. Harbinger is the least agile of all Vanguard variants. You chuld only use it, if the size 5 torpedo is importent for you.
Retaliator is bad because has no pilot controlled guns. 6 S9s is still good to have in a group fight tho. Retaliator and the eclipse in my hangar. Love them both!
I once had sentinel, had lvl 5 cannon m7a and 4 ballistic cannons to keep all capacitor for main cannon, with its 2,8 km range so You can killl lot targets before they can shoot you
redownloading the game rn fingers crossed it works for me now used to play in 2019 then it just running well for me for some reason. always crashing. hopefully some updates since then have fixed my problem

I seem to have a reliable kils with torps fired from about 7km. Needs to be EM seekers though.

Repeaters plus size 5 Gatling is a bad idea because of mixed projectile speeds. Swap out the small repeaters for cannons.
or alternatively go with the size 4 gatling and then the gimbal will correct for the difference

Make sure you look into pip error when using two different projectile velocities. I think it was a bug and idk if it’s fixed I’m too lazy to check.

You want laser cannons for Vanguard ERTs. That huge ballistic does crazy damage but doesn't have enough ammo to kill 3 hammerheads.

A hammerhead is such a big target, that you can get hits even outside the pip. :)
That Banana Shark guy probably had the same target to take down that Hammer Head. Just luck that you were doing it too.
Always take out the support first, so you can work on the hammerhead alone. Elevators and stairs are the number one killers of the verse.
The last torp got shot down. That was the explosion. It happen earlier in the vid as well.
Make sure you're using lag pip not lead. I always have trouble seeing in videos but it makes a huge difference for getting shots on target.

When you get your rep up higher with the individual factions you get a percentage boost to payout. My ERT group bounties complete for over 100k now
Is microtech part of these ‘factions’ ? I cant seems to get those high reward bounties. Which rep am i supposed to do ? Sorry newbie here

you can shoot missiles and torpedo's out of the sky so maybe thats what happend both times its super hard to reliably do it but with enough rounds down range the hammerhead might be able to shoot a slow moving torp

If you're doing pve bounties, I recommend trying a gimballed C-788 on the nose and use subsystem targeting.
I would use the Sentenel instead, it is much more agile. Compear and you will see. Harbinger is the least agile of all Vanguard variants. You chuld only use it, if the size 5 torpedo is importent for you.

At around 14:00 the torpedo was really hit by a NPC ship laser.
Retaliator is bad because has no pilot controlled guns. 6 S9s is still good to have in a group fight tho. Retaliator and the eclipse in my hangar. Love them both!
Considering how close you were from the explosion on your 2nd attempt, I bet you caught up to the torpedo.

I once had sentinel, had lvl 5 cannon m7a and 4 ballistic cannons to keep all capacitor for main cannon, with its 2,8 km range so You can killl lot targets before they can shoot you

I'd go with the class 5 laser TBH; land one shot and BOOM (on the fighters - not the hammerhead of course)! :D
There's a ballistic cannon with explosive splash damage that can fit on the warden. I want to try that one out.
I've managed to shoot an enemies size 1 or 2 missiles.. I should imagine a size 9 torpedo is even easier to hit, only needs one hit.
best gun for vanguard is a size 4 laser repeater. Size 5 ammo speed is too slow to hit anything
if you're not using gimbals on a vanguard swap the repeaters for cannons
Light Strike cannon and repeaters works for me.
If you ever get a chance to do the Critical Service Beacons they are the most fun I've had in ai ship combat.
Hammerhead AI will aim at torpedos and try to shoot them down. The Idris will do the same. On a high performance server they are fairly good at it.

And also, you can take out an idris with 5 seeker torps, if they all hit at the same spot :)
redownloading the game rn fingers crossed it works for me now used to play in 2019 then it just running well for me for some reason. always crashing. hopefully some updates since then have fixed my problem
yeah that torp was 100% shot down... its why you are supposed to do the hammerhead kills while stealth
the connie and the retaliator are the best ships atm
I've never seen that many missiles work that well in SC.
as long as you fire them off between 2-5 thousand meters out your gold.

You should be using Laser Canons (MVSAs) on that Harb, not the repeaters (GVSR).
Get those retaliator torps upgraded to seekers asap. You will thank me :)

on my sentinel i run 2x distortion cannons 2x laser cannons and a ballistic gatling with 16x size 2 missles
