"Tula, a man may be the head of a family but a woman is the neck. And she can turn the head any way she wants" Not in this scene. But it's in this scene.
I never really liked this analogy, the head is where the brain is and the neck doesn't have any thoughts of its own it may only turn the brain's thoughts to the best ideas. But! What if the stupid head has no good ideas, what does the neck do then? The brain always controls the rest of the body, the neck just thinks it has power, it has nothing of the sort. The brain has convinced that the neck controls what happens....it doesn't.
@@gingerfellah5665I think the brain in this analogy, while in the head (and thus the head makes the ultimate decision), is more a reference to the broader "greekness."
It really is one of modern culture’s best outputs anywhere in the world. And all it really does is tell the story of some Greeks! But Greeks are hilarious!! “Tell me what to say! But don’t tell me what to say.” “Perfect!!” 🥰🥰🥰🥰😁😁😁😁😆😆
@@JS-do7ux It’s from the scene when the mom and aunt are trying to get Gus to think about sending Tula to the travel agency instead of the restaurant like she wants really wants. The mom tells him that the aunt “suffers” being away from her husband while at the travel agency so they should help her by sending Tula there.
Yeah I do this all the time when necesarry with my husband. My grandma taught me that women who failed in their marriage fight with their husbands in an open war and in the end, they always lose. My grannie had a 70 years marriage, I guess she knew what she said
This is pretty much my family to. Accept my family isn't Greek but Italian. 🇮🇹🇮🇹 The women secretly wear the pants in our family. 😂😂😂 But i sometimes laugh at the fact that we practically feed them the answer. 😅😅 As all good Italian families, our women are also very loud. Lol..
I’ve seen this movie 20 times and I never knew that’s what she said. 😂 It looks like it might have been an improvisation based off Lainie Kazan’s reaction.
Remember everyone! This is a funny scene to watch but it should NEVER be necessary in real life. If you are in a situation where you have to pander or manipulate to be heard then respectfully, RUN!

This scene and the one where Aunt Voula tells Ian’s parents about the lump on her neck are my favorites 😂

The lady who wrote this movie's script is a creative genius. I love it.
It’s a pity she couldn’t keep it up with the two unnecessary sequels

Yep it’s so perfectly relatable.
You know who that was right? The main actress. Lol
I just love how there're laughing at him not with him
I love the look on Maria’s face at the end 🤣 lol
When you love the movie so much you not only quote it with your mom and cousins, you named your fantasy football team She Suffers.
You can say a lot about Gus, but it is sweet that when he Aunt Voula was in trouble, he offered her money right away
he was ready, how much you need 😅
That’s why that no work 🤣🤣
We women need to relearn this art.
Only when trapped.
She suffers!!!
