We do wrestle against the flesh, against sinful desires, but no one should have to wrestle as to whether or not they have salvation, as salvation is simply knowing God. It is to be filled with the Holy Spirit, to be "seated in the heavenlies with Christ." Ask of the Father and you will be 'seated in the heavenlies with Christ.' I've did a lot of bad things that could of landed me in prison. And one day when my dog I've raised sense she was a pup died I cried out to God, not condemning him but morning for my dog. I absolutely agree with this teaching. I surrendered my life to God at age 14 in 1977 after reading Run baby Run of Nicky Cruz, it was the first Christian book I ever read. I surrendered my life to God alone in my room and suddenly it was as if I was surrounded with sparkling white snow inside and around me, I was still a virgin and handnt done much evil since I loved reading ranch and horse storybooks and Little women and other old classics. I was a good student at school but after that meeting with God alone in my room I became hungry for God’s Word and read it daily and it became an open book to me and alive. I then read all the old missionary biographies of Hudson Taylor, Amy Carmichael, David Brainard, CT Stuff, Mary Slessor, Watchman Nee, George Mueller etc. I did 25 years of hospital evangelisation but sadly the hospitals in South Africa no longer allow such work.

I love brother Paul Washer, he truly is a godly brother, and he is not preaching falsehood about our need to be holy and continually be responsive to the Holy Spirit’s guidance and correction in our lives. Some mock him or say he preaches another gospel because they want to undermine our call to be holy and obey Jesus’ commands. But our Lord tells us, “IF you love Me, OBEY my commands.” Jesus Christ truly is the eternal everliving Son of God, and He alone paid the ultimate price to save us. I have been struggling, seriously in pain, doubting my salvation. I am one who thinks way too much about things....too "knowledgeable" for my own good. I reason my heart is so wicked and deceitful, maybe it's lying to me, telling me I believe what is necessary for salvation. Also, I think how much belief or faith is enough? Then, I think why do I believe God can take care of my never dying soul, but not take care of me daily. (When I was coming out of my addiction, a phrase I have never forgotten is "twisted logic!") Only one who is saved can be "double-minded," and I truly sense Satanic oppression! That should be enough! But listening to this video absolutely crushed me into a posture of humility and relief...I cried and cried. Thank you....
i fight against the thought that God cares for me, only because He is obligated to, due to His word. The past 3 yrs I got lyme disease, lost some hearing, have some damage to my heart, half my face is paralyzed permanently. My Mom died,. During that time I was without power (pole broke in the middle of winter), lost my clients (graphic designer), and was wiped out at every level, my car was stolen and a neighbors dog killed my cat I had for over 9yrs. In that time He showed me he cares for me daily. The stroy is long an detailed, but I want to let you know, that like in the song by Lauren Daigle..He sends out an army to find us, and He will nevre, ever stop. His love and care is unbreakable. He doesn't just tolerate me because He has to, but be cause He loves me. I still strggle with , but He always brings me back in line. He loves His children, despite what do or have done or even will do, He will provide what we need, when we need it. Look for the little things, every day that have happened or not happened and think of why. I bet you see God in it.
I think most of us go through all the pain of thinking we didn't repent enough and how can we know we ARE saved. Please rest in HIS righteousness and HIS FINISHED work for you. Salvation is HIS work. Many people disagree with Paul and I don’t always agree with him but the message is about repentance. He’s just doing what he’s supposed to by telling you. I don’t see anything wrong with that because we all need to repent daily. Because it’s a daily walk, not just a one time thing.

So I understand it as justification as a one-time action, followed if I choose to cooperate with the Holy Spirit in my sanctification process (highly recommended), which is the ongoing results. As far as I understand Scripture, one can only get saved once, immediately receive God's grace, a one time deal and filled with the Holy Spirit. That is justification. I am wary to conflate to repent / believe / have faith in / to put your trust in / have confidence in the Person and work of Christ (all used interchangeably in the Word) to one time receive the sacrificial (a sacrifice, which was accepted, because it was a perfect sacrifice, that of the God man Jesus), substitutionary (in my place), penal (there is a penalty for sin death, I was suppose to receive it, but Jesus took it) and propitiating (enough to satisfy God's wrath on sin) work of Christ as a one time action of justification on the Cross with.......sanctification. The latter is the ongoing walk of the Christian as we fall and confess before the Lord our sins, and He being faithful forgives us and restores our fellowship when we confess our sins, 1 John 1:9. We do not stop being His children, when in error, not even if we do not confess our sin. I am not saved all over again, or justified all over again, that was a one time deal, the new birth. See David. He was in depression, until he came clean before the Lord, a man after Gods heart. justification (to be saved) is not sanctification (to grow in holiness). As part of my sanctification walk, I regularly confess my sins before the Lord to reestablish where I have fallen out of fellowship, but I do not repent, I am not rebirthed, or come newly into the faith. It is good talking with you dear M.Tanner. You may want to reconsider language i.e. " If you can't see that..." and "then you better...". to speak truth in love, it would make it more palatable to continue the discourse with you. I value Ps Washers' commitment and faithfulness. I just do not subscribe to his theology. I value your fervor for the faith.

This is what I've been looking for Paul or whoever Apologia bros is. Lots of teaching these days of only a few serious saved being raptured when our Lord returns. Repentance is a daily lifestyle for me. Even though I'm repulsed by sin. Thank you so much for this! I hope everyone sees this.
I know because the Lord Jesus told me all I needed to do was believe in Him and He would save me and forgive me all my sins. I did. 40 years later He has never left me or forsaken me. The Gospel is so simple, yet so profound at the same time. God had to make it easy to understand because He knew men would complicate it and make it 'mysterious' and difficult to understand! He made it so that even little children would understand the true Gospel, John 3:16-17. Once you believe, He joins you with His Holy Spirit and you begin to talk to Him and communicate all your joys, sadness, victories, failures and He hepls you with THEM ALL. Repentance comes AFTER you believe!
I repented and believed in Jesus when I was 16 (I’m 28 now) and at first my heart was completely devoted to Him and His work of grace in the life. Then along the way I had doubts that I fought through and became confused through charismatic preaching and “prosperity gospel” theology, thinking that there was more of God that I was missing. This left me burnt out and caused me to give up on seeking God. I even fell back into sin and started living a lifestyle of sexual immorality. But God in His grace and mercy allowed me to experience the consequence of my sin where I felt deep heartbreak as a result of my sexual immorality and He convicted me of my sin, and in that moment I cried out to God and acknowledged my sin, that His way was right and that mine was wrong. I committed my way to Him again and am now married to my wonderful wife and following the Lord with all my heart even though I’ve done nothing to deserve it. He is faithful and just to forgive us and to finish the work He began in us and nothing in this world can snatch us from His hand. Thank you Jesus for what You have done!
Thanks for sharing brother in Christ. Im experiencing a similar situation. Sexual immorality and a few other sins have brought me back to the lord. Im currently fighting against it with the lords help and it gets better day by day. Reading that you’re spiritual walk with the lord has grown and it has lead to you getting married gives me encouragement to keep going.

Just like the story of the sower of the seed in good soil and being connected to the vine; We must pick up our cross daily & do the necessary spiritual gardening work to keep our heart posture focused on JC. Would a loving parent want their kid to go through tons of pain & heartbreak to learn this lesson? Probably not, will some have to go through this to learn they must abide? Maybe! When you receive a gift it comes with responsibility to take care of it, or in another way, count the cost! If we truly are born again and repent daily, new wine skins, Prune the branches, Crucifier our desires to the cross... Then this leads us to righteous living and being a bond servant to the Will of the Father like Christ Jesus did. By Faith(action) in JC we are set free of our chains, so cheap grace leads to no transformation bc its grace from man, but true Godly Grace or ears to hear & eyes to see understanding of Gods grace with the help of the Holy Spirit will lead to new skins & transformation that we must steward. Covenant means relationship so there's responsibility and accountability on both sides. Thats why continual repentance is so good because it continually humbles and brings our heart in the right posture to come under the authority of the Alpha & the Omega, fearing the Lord your God! Amen! You would have still kept your salvation because you were born again by believing when you were young. It’s the discipleship that went astray and now you have come back to the straight and narrow, the best you can. Just know, your faith in Jesus is what saves you, not also faith in anything else, like your performance or works of discipleship. God bless

We don't need to keep repenting after salvation we only need to have a repentant heart for God, our thinking changes automatically in our new life in Christ.
A transformed life is not guaranteed. But eternal life is guaranteed simply by faith. Works have nothing to do with salvation before conversion or after. It is by faith apart from works. The moment someone believes, they have eternal life, whether they do good works or not. Adding works as an evidence of “true saving faith” is not the gospel of grace but is a different gospel, in-fact, it is no gospel at all.

To believe in Jesus means to listen to God and to do what He tells you because you trust Him. Jesus tells us only those who do the Will of His father will enter Heaven. Jesus also tells us tells us to stop sin and this is only possible if you get baptised in Jesus name. Jesus says: “Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God” (John 3:5). Romans 6 tells us that our old man [with the sinful nature] dies while getting baptized in Jesus name and we also come alive again in Jesus. We then are then born again in his Spirit so we have a new holy and pure nature in Jesus. Sin is dead to us and we are able to resist all temptations as long as we Walk in the Spirit. Galatians 5, 16: "This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh." "15 Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world-the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life-is not of the Father but is of the world. 17 And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever." - 1 John 2 "lust of the flesh" We are free of that as we are reborn in Jesus, because like it is written in Romans 8 we Children of God do not live in the flesh anymore but in the Spirit (of Jesus who overcame the whole world = sin, death and temptations for us, so we can overcome the world too). And the Holy Spirit makes our bodies alive which means our flesh is overcome and we do not need to act on it anymore (as long as we Walk in the Spirit). This is not theory to me. I experienced all of it because I got a living faith. Faith without works is dead like the body is dead without the Spirit (James 2:26). A living faith is shown in your life through actions. Saved by faith = you will see in your life that Jesus has made you free from sin, you are no longer like the world, your old is dead, you have now fruits of the Spirit which are holy (God's Peace and Love for example). 1 John 5, 4: "For whatsoever is born of God overcomes the world: and this is the victory that overcomes the world, our faith."

We have to truly from the heart mourn over our sin, and also we must realize that since He was born of a virgin that his blood was Holy and so the cross was most definitely a perfect sacrifice

You don't realize it but you are double talking. You thank Jesus for dying for your sins but you also say "I repent of my sins". What you just did was make the death of Jesus Christ pointless because you are depending on "repenting of your sins". Christ said to repent and believe. Repentance is apart of the gospel message. It’s not saying that a perfect repentance is required for justification. But repentant heart that grows in repentance is the sign of the true believer. If there is no growth in repentance over time and a growing of love for Christ, then there was never belief in that persons heart. Not a genuine faith or love for Christ. Because Christ said if you love me you will keep my commands. Not perfectly, but the desire and longing will be there. But as Paul says we wrestle with the flesh..

We are saved by grace alone, through faith alone. When a person exercises true saving faith, they are born again. When a person is born again, this produces a transformation. What would then be the motivation to worship such a pathetic god? The reason He requires so much of us is because the whole reason for our existence is to worship Him. There is no other reason we are born but to bring Him glory, so of course He requires this of us. A man who designs a functional car fully expects it to do what it was designed for - to traverse distances. Nobody is perplexed at the designer’s should the car not run. The only option is to fix it or discard it. The tragic difference between us and the car is that we were created with will; we therefore WILLFULLY do not do the exact thing that we were designed to do - bring God pleasure. We instead seek to usurp His throne and sit there ourselves, arrogantly pursuing our own pleasure and comfort rather than His. We are sadly defective by choice. It is a Marvel that for such treason He does not discard all of us into eternal fiery Hell, but rather to show the beauty of His wonderful grace, took our punishment on the cross in the body of His son Jesus by dying the very death we deserved to die, drinking our very hell, and then offers the free gift of fixing us, making us functional and worthy of still being with Him forever. How one views the incredible love of THIS God and then desires another is absolutely foolishness. Yet we ALL were there my friend. U til God allowed us to see His beauty and called us by that very beauty. I sincerely pray He opens your eyes to the truth and grants you repentance also.

We do wrestle against the flesh, against sinful desires, but no one should have to wrestle as to whether or not they have salvation, as salvation is simply knowing God. It is to be filled with the Holy Spirit, to be "seated in the heavenlies with Christ." Ask of the Father and you will be 'seated in the heavenlies with Christ.' Only ask believing, as the double-minded man never receives anything from God!

I've did a lot of bad things that could of landed me in prison. And one day when my dog I've raised sense she was a pup died I cried out to God, not condemning him but morning for my dog. When I was crying with a shout, just like that became calm and felt wings that were taller than me surround me. Got Baptized, quit my swearing, smoking, and what I've been doing. Being Baptized doesn't mean that you will forget the past in what you did. I read my Bible a lot now days. Can't get enough of it.

Elohim
Allah is the Muslim god, and the word is thought to be derived by contraction from al - ilāh, which means "the god"12. In Hebrew, the word “elohim” is understood as a generic noun for “god/gods” and is used almost identically to the way ‘allah’ is used in Arabic3. The normal generic word for God in Hebrew is "alaha"/"aloho"4. The Hebrew word El (Elohim) also stands for the same name - god5
Definitely need to trust the death burial and resurrection! Paul is the apostle for us today! Definitely don't mix law and grace!

I absolutely agree with this teaching. I surrendered my life to God at age 14 in 1977 after reading Run baby Run of Nicky Cruz, it was the first Christian book I ever read. I surrendered my life to God alone in my room and suddenly it was as if I was surrounded with sparkling white snow inside and around me, I was still a virgin and handnt done much evil since I loved reading ranch and horse storybooks and Little women and other old classics. I was a good student at school but after that meeting with God alone in my room I became hungry for God’s Word and read it daily and it became an open book to me and alive. I then read all the old missionary biographies of Hudson Taylor, Amy Carmichael, David Brainard, CT Stuff, Mary Slessor, Watchman Nee, George Mueller etc. I did 25 years of hospital evangelisation but sadly the hospitals in South Africa no longer allow such work.

I love brother Paul Washer, he truly is a godly brother, and he is not preaching falsehood about our need to be holy and continually be responsive to the Holy Spirit’s guidance and correction in our lives. Some mock him or say he preaches another gospel because they want to undermine our call to be holy and obey Jesus’ commands. But our Lord tells us, “IF you love Me, OBEY my commands.” Jesus Christ truly is the eternal everliving Son of God, and He alone paid the ultimate price to save us. I reason my heart is so wicked and deceitful, maybe it's lying to me, telling me I believe what is necessary for salvation. Also, I think how much belief or faith is enough? Then, I think why do I believe God can take care of my never dying soul, but not take care of me daily. (When I was coming out of my addiction, a phrase I have never forgotten is "twisted logic!") Only one who is saved can be "double-minded," and I truly sense Satanic oppression! That should be enough! But listening to this video absolutely crushed me into a posture of humility and relief...I cried and cried. Thank you....
i fight against the thought that God cares for me, only because He is obligated to, due to His word. The past 3 yrs I got lyme disease, lost some hearing, have some damage to my heart, half my face is paralyzed permanently. My Mom died,. During that time I was without power (pole broke in the middle of winter), lost my clients (graphic designer), and was wiped out at every level, my car was stolen and a neighbors dog killed my cat I had for over 9yrs.
In that time He showed me he cares for me daily. The stroy is long an detailed, but I want to let you know, that like in the song by Lauren Daigle..He sends out an army to find us, and He will nevre, ever stop. His love and care is unbreakable. He doesn't just tolerate me because He has to, but be cause He loves me. I still strggle with , but He always brings me back in line.
He loves His children, despite what do or have done or even will do, He will provide what we need, when we need it. Look for the little things, every day that have happened or not happened and think of why. I bet you see God in it.
I think most of us go through all the pain of thinking we didn't repent enough and how can we know we ARE saved. Please rest in HIS righteousness and HIS FINISHED work for you. Salvation is HIS work. Read 1 Corinthians chapter one about how Jesus is MADE unto us sanctification. He gives us all we need to know we are COMPLETE IN HIM as Paul says

Many people disagree with Paul and I don’t always agree with him but the message is about repentance. He’s just doing what he’s supposed to by telling you. I don’t see anything wrong with that because we all need to repent daily. Because it’s a daily walk, not just a one time thing.

As far as I understand Scripture, one can only get saved once, immediately receive God's grace, a one time deal and filled with the Holy Spirit. That is justification. I am wary to conflate to repent / believe / have faith in / to put your trust in / have confidence in the Person and work of Christ (all used interchangeably in the Word) to one time receive the sacrificial (a sacrifice, which was accepted, because it was a perfect sacrifice, that of the God man Jesus), substitutionary (in my place), penal (there is a penalty for sin death, I was suppose to receive it, but Jesus took it) and propitiating (enough to satisfy God's wrath on sin) work of Christ as a one time action of justification on the Cross with.......sanctification. The latter is the ongoing walk of the Christian as we fall and confess before the Lord our sins, and He being faithful forgives us and restores our fellowship when we confess our sins, 1 John 1:9. We do not stop being His children, when in error, not even if we do not confess our sin. I am not saved all over again, or justified all over again, that was a one time deal, the new birth. See David. He was in depression, until he came clean before the Lord, a man after Gods heart. justification (to be saved) is not sanctification (to grow in holiness). As part of my sanctification walk, I regularly confess my sins before the Lord to reestablish where I have fallen out of fellowship, but I do not repent, I am not rebirthed, or come newly into the faith.

I know because the Lord Jesus told me all I needed to do was believe in Him and He would save me and forgive me all my sins. I did. 40 years later He has never left me or forsaken me. The Gospel is so simple, yet so profound at the same time. God had to make it easy to understand because He knew men would complicate it and make it 'mysterious' and difficult to understand! He made it so that even little children would understand the true Gospel, John 3:16-17. Once you believe, He joins you with His Holy Spirit and you begin to talk to Him and communicate all your joys, sadness, victories, failures and He hepls you with THEM ALL. Repentance comes AFTER you believe!

I repented and believed in Jesus when I was 16 (I’m 28 now) and at first my heart was completely devoted to Him and His work of grace in the life. Then along the way I had doubts that I fought through and became confused through charismatic preaching and “prosperity gospel” theology, thinking that there was more of God that I was missing. This left me burnt out and caused me to give up on seeking God. I even fell back into sin and started living a lifestyle of sexual immorality. But God in His grace and mercy allowed me to experience the consequence of my sin where I felt deep heartbreak as a result of my sexual immorality and He convicted me of my sin, and in that moment I cried out to God and acknowledged my sin, that His way was right and that mine was wrong. I committed my way to Him again and am now married to my wonderful wife and following the Lord with all my heart even though I’ve done nothing to deserve it. He is faithful and just to forgive us and to finish the work He began in us and nothing in this world can snatch us from His hand. Thank you Jesus for what You have done!

Thanks for sharing brother in Christ. Im experiencing a similar situation. Sexual immorality and a few other sins have brought me back to the lord. Im currently fighting against it with the lords help and it gets better day by day. Reading that you’re spiritual walk with the lord has grown and it has lead to you getting married gives me encouragement to keep going.

Just like the story of the sower of the seed in good soil and being connected to the vine; We must pick up our cross daily & do the necessary spiritual gardening work to keep our heart posture focused on JC.
Would a loving parent want their kid to go through tons of pain & heartbreak to learn this lesson? Probably not, will some have to go through this to learn they must abide? Maybe! When you receive a gift it comes with responsibility to take care of it, or in another way, count the cost! If we truly are born again and repent daily, new wine skins, Prune the branches, Crucifier our desires to the cross... Then this leads us to righteous living and being a bond servant to the Will of the Father like Christ Jesus did.

2) No mention that faith is a gift of God so that no one may boast.
3) This is only half the gospel. The other half is that a sinner needs the imputation of Christ's righteousness. This is what we can rest in for our salvation. Christ has done all that's needed on our behalf. Christ has fulfilled the law for us. He had done all the obedience required for our Salvation. Trust in His work for you.

"lust of the flesh" We are free of that as we are reborn in Jesus, because like it is written in Romans 8 we Children of God do not live in the flesh anymore but in the Spirit (of Jesus who overcame the whole world = sin, death and temptations for us, so we can overcome the world too). And the Holy Spirit makes our bodies alive which means our flesh is overcome and we do not need to act on it anymore (as long as we Walk in the Spirit).
This is not theory to me. I experienced all of it because I got a living faith.
Faith without works is dead like the body is dead without the Spirit (James 2:26). A living faith is shown in your life through actions. Saved by faith = you will see in your life that Jesus has made you free from sin, you are no longer like the world, your old is dead, you have now fruits of the Spirit which are holy (God's Peace and Love for example).

You don't realize it but you are double talking. You thank Jesus for dying for your sins but you also say "I repent of my sins". What you just did was make the death of Jesus Christ pointless because you are depending on "repenting of your sins". Christ said to repent and believe. Repentance is apart of the gospel message. It’s not saying that a perfect repentance is required for justification. But repentant heart that grows in repentance is the sign of the true believer. If there is no growth in repentance over time and a growing of love for Christ, then there was never belief in that persons heart. Not a genuine faith or love for Christ. Because Christ said if you love me you will keep my commands. Not perfectly, but the desire and longing will be there. But as Paul says we wrestle with the flesh..

Satan is subtle and decieveing just as the bible says. If you truly love and believe in God you will actively avoid sinning and it's of the devil to think it's okay to freely sin as much as you want because Jesus paid for it that is taking advantage of him and that will send you to hell and we should repent and ask for forgiveness when we do mess up because it is a constant fight with the flesh

I'd rather worship an imperfect god who's more down to our level and does't require so much from us, a god who has more understanding and does not boast about himself and doesn't seek so much praising
What would then be the motivation to worship such a pathetic god? The reason He requires so much of us is because the whole reason for our existence is to worship Him. There is no other reason we are born but to bring Him glory, so of course He requires this of us.
A man who designs a functional car fully expects it to do what it was designed for - to traverse distances. Nobody is perplexed at the designer’s should the car not run. The only option is to fix it or discard it.
The tragic difference between us and the car is that we were created with will; we therefore WILLFULLY do not do the exact thing that we were designed to do - bring God pleasure. We instead seek to usurp His throne and sit there ourselves, arrogantly pursuing our own pleasure and comfort rather than His. We are sadly defective by choice.
It is a Marvel that for such treason He does not discard all of us into eternal fiery Hell, but rather to show the beauty of His wonderful grace, took our punishment on the cross in the body of His son Jesus by dying the very death we deserved to die, drinking our very hell, and then offers the free gift of fixing us, making us functional and worthy of still being with Him forever. How one views the incredible love of THIS God and then desires another is absolutely foolishness. Yet we ALL were there my friend. U til God allowed us to see His beauty and called us by that very beauty. I sincerely pray He opens your eyes to the truth and grants you repentance also.
