Very cool. I think the price is too high to move many units. Similar to the Polestar 3, some of these manufacturers are trying to compete at a price range that doesn't seem realistic, but we'll see.
Growing up, I and my mom attempted to persuade my dad to buy a Volkswagen Campmobile version of the bus. What a disappointment! My dad said that the price, 3,000 US dollars was much too high, for in 1970, one could buy a brand-new full size Ford station wagon car for about the same price, loaded with AC, automatic and radio. I like the VW Buzz but unfortunately I’m beginning to sound like my dad, ‘too expensive’. Great interesting review!
I hope VW doesn't go bankrupt. Their sales globally are way down. Anyway this is a really nice van. I would be very interested in being able to remove the middle seats as well as the back seats to make it a real camping/cargo van.
I genuinely think if they offered a stripped down version, it might actually make sense as a fleet vehicle. It's just too expensive to work as a consumer grade vehicle.
@@jacobrzeszewski6527 For the first year it’s only top of the line for Canada but there will be some lesser trims later on including a 5 passenger version but no cargo van plans over here
not stripped down but lower the MSRP by 15k to 20k. The pricing is almost like the CEO of VW is trying to recover all of their profit lost during the COVID with this one car.
Chrysler should be making their Mini Vans as large and boxy as this new VW ! It's why I'm still driving my 2014 Town & Country. Nobody can fit in the the drivers seat in the Pacifica. I'd buy this Buzz without any fear that I could fit in the drivers seat comfortably.
That is a big thing I say with most manufacturers that always seem to feel that anyone that wants a top of the line edition wants captains seats instead of a bench. Would be great if they could just make a middle insert to add to the second row if you needed a bench.
The armrest on the left of the driver seat is not a good design. I can imagine lots of drivers will either not use it or forget to lift it before exiting the vehicle. Remember the disastrous automatic seat belt with manual lap belt in the late 80s cars? Lots of drivers forgot to unbuckle the lap belt before exiting. Moreover, price is way too high for an average family with kids.
Seems like a total non-starter: poor range, poor front visibility around a-pillars, and high price. But good for local trips and loads you need covered, so perhaps I could be swayed…
@@96chevydually6.5L Electric doesn’t work for everyone. I just plug in at home a couple times a week and haven’t had any issues for a couple of years at all. If you’re doing longer road trips or don’t have a place to charge then it’s for sure not as convenient as pulling up to a gas pump. It’s kinda like having a powerful electric 2 stage snow blower that’ll handle a regular driveway and 150 ft if sidewalk per charge which is my case but not going to be efficient clearing a large parking lot. Depends on your needs.
Electric cars imo only really work in warm climates as a secondary car.. Where they are bought cheap.. Because 70k for something i can only drive local seems stupid to me, where i can but a 300k mile Camry that you would only drive local for 500.00.. why spend 70k for the same inconvenience..
Not going to Fly in my opinion. Between the Price, and Range. And who’s going to listen to Internal VW people on the range they claim to get. No power inverter either. The sky roof that has no real shade. Reason I dislike Tesla is no sunshade. I would have thought VW would have made this a lot cooler with different packages but then it would exceed $100K.. Crazy. People used the PT Cruiser to promote business’s.

Best review of the ID Buzz yet. I’d go for the blue and white. Smart move holding the event in San Francisco. You have some amazing shots.
@@Molishious Thanks!!🙏

Id consider the Buzz if it came with AWD and 7 seats.

It does come to the US with AWD but it seems the 7 Seats are only available for uns in Europe in the long Version 🤔
Big fan of the ID Buzz. Needs min 300 mile range, and camp mode🎉
ID BUZZ, a new success story for VW 🤞✌️❤️
Great review, thanks!
The only thing that is not cool about the Buzz is its price 😂
Yeah I hear ya. I wish I could afford one
No camp mode, no dog mode?! Hopefully they will update this soon
I wish they didn't water it down from the concept.
The concept looked amazing.
Surprised by the sub 400km range but otherwise VW will sell every one they bring into Canada. Hope you get a long term tester!
@@htspringhiker me too😂
The price way too high The price not many people come for it !
What’s about the small overlap crash test?
Wonder why no silver roof option with the dark charcoal blue!!??? 🤦♂️
One of our dealers in Denver wants a $2.000 non refundable down payment to order. Also, a $5,000 market adjustment. No thanks.
@@patrickgibbons5961 That’s ridiculous
No one-pedal driving is very surprising - it will be weird having this and a Tesla

Look at the ev car price in China. This is crazy price in US
They should bring down the price so that people could afford atleast in 45k
too pricey in Singapore, it's untouchable
effective range of less than 200 miles for $70k? VW WV have been known for lack of support. Not sure who this is for.
I would have bought it if it had 9 seats.
It's cute. Would I buy it? No.
I would like to see what type of accessories people will come up plus how they will be customized. I’m sure there will be some cool ones.
Design miss... They really really should have put in the round headlights. AND.. made the 'white' accent come down to a 'point' on the front...
Iconic roadtrip vehicle that doesn’t have much range. I don’t get it…
68k usd, they won't sell many with the poor range and no NACS.
looks like a cheap euro delivery van or an Airport Taxi . Not something i would like to be seen in driving .
Sounds like a you problem.
I dont think the ID Buzz will miss you
Serious?😂

Promoting electric vehicles when the Current infrastructure cannot support it😂
