Hi Katie, just wondering do you remember a few years ago help a lone cyclist that had punched coming down Black Stone Edge. I had change my tube, but was unable to inflate the tyre because I had lost my frame pump coming down Black Stone Edge which I had punctured on. Please may I take this opportunity to say thank you again for letting me use you pump at the road side and also, good luck with your new Ribblecycles job.... Take care... Andy "The Cannonball" Smith (Strava name) PS, the time we met by chance due to the puncher, I was training for The British Cyclocross Championship at Hetton Park Sunderland and finishing in 13th place in the 55-60 year old class. In 2020 January, I will hopefully be doing the UCI World Cyclocross Championship 60+ in Ipswich if the event is still on with all the Covid19 issues. Stay safe..... :)

hello Katie, I really love cycling, im from Asia Philippines. Mtb & Road bike rider . i salute you for choosing and taking the risk as a journalist to you tuber. here to support you . you have really nice bikes and rides. Take care.
After watching this I was thinking of becoming a UA-camr calling it Keithy Kookaburra but I’m bald and old and my bike is a vintage Raleigh so I don’t think I would attract many subscribers. You deserve your success.
I agree on all points to GET to the point you are now. So many similarities in my own journey. I’m so far beyond what I thought I could achieve. I wish I knew people who could understand what its like to maintain a dream. Your last point about it being a job at the end, hits home hard. So from the “success future”, I have to deal with people that want to take me down from that success. I have to deal with having to be creative ALL THE TIME. The highs are still there, but the tightrope gets very tiring to walk every single day. I am a unicorn where I work, and the position was created for me to do what I do. It’s also pretty lonely. I wish all that strive to achieve their dreams, do so. However, also have a plan when you actually achieve those dreams. That’s what I am working on. Being the best/most successful at something is not always gilded.
I have often wondered, how come your videos have a very nice and comfortable narrative, its about life around cycling, and sharing the joy around it - just a natural sense of feeling happy. It is not just about technical jargons, definitely not about unnatural gimmicks, stretched out circumstances. I think we do get a sense of sound, good quality journalism... :)
Katie, I am so glad you are doing this and that I found your videos. Your passion for cycling, and your wonderful relaxed clarity in your delivery (talking/explaining your topic) are such a pleasure to watch. I follow you, Darren Alf, and some of GCN. I have learned A LOT watching your channel. Thank you.
... and you are bloody good at it. Been following the channel for a while, watching you go through the same ups and downs that the rest of us deal with is a boost. It was great to meet you in GC last year on Pico, wish you every success with the channel and beyond.
Well done Katie, that was a video that needed to be made. Those who really appreciate your videos will be grateful that you've had the courage to open up about your life and your story (it maybe why you were a little bit out of breath!). I think it takes a certain type of personality to give up a good secure job and do as your heart dictates. I did it a number of times with mixed results but no regrets. You may well be the inspiration for some people to make some big decisions but either way, your channel remains a joy - keep it up.
Thanks Jeremy, I will always be open with you all! It’s life isn’t it, choices we make and the risks we take. Some pay off and the others we just learn from. Thanks for the support and kind words. Hope you’re doing well x
Looking forward to when you can go on cycling trips again. I thoroughly enjoy seeing all the amazing places that you get to ride, because I know I will never get to go to even 1% of those locations. Regardless I am Thankful for the places I have ridden and the friends I have to ride with.
Well done, your hard work has paid off. Most don't realize how much work goes into the creation of a video. So much to learn like you said It does take passion and commitment to do it long term, as well as a little bit of tough skin to put yourself out there in such a public way.
My hardest obstacle being in front of the camera is trying to keep a dialogue going and being comfortable in front of it. Whilst out riding I find this comes more much easily and fluid,, but stick me in an off-the-bike or one such as Katie is sat in here - I struggle. The art of creating a seamless video 1-take shot surely take a lot of practise, prep and planning and of course at the same time you need to remain human and not come across as being robotic or reading yours notes mid-recording etc.
Stumbled upon your Channel maybe I guess of UA-cam algorithm. So glad I did. Could relate to many of your video topics as a beginner cyclist. I first video came across was where you talk about beginner cycling tips. Biib shorts without pants was a game-changer to me. No, thank-you Katie. You have been so inspirational for us. You tell the truth, showing both the high & low points. You're vegan but not 'preachy' about it. (me too!) So good to see you being successful & achieving your dreams. You're fortunate to be surrounded by supportive people. Last year when I mentioned my plans to walk the Camino Frances to Santiago de Compostela, everyone thought I was crazy, stupid & a dreamer. With not a hope of doing it. But I went ahead & walked 1000km with my backpack. Meeting many like minded pilgrims who are still friends today. Stay safe.
Hi Katie, trying to find the book you mentioned but can't find it. What was it? The Power, by whom? Just think it might be a good read from what you described. Thanks
loved hearing your story, Katie. you deserve all the success in the world. As a newbie vlogger, I am just making videos for my own amusement but hopefully more people will enjoy them too, one day. Cheers and have a great week
A prescription? lol. after 30 years as systems management - i too made a decision 2 years ago got a brilliant 3 day job which gives me work life balance ive never had. I was massively into cycling 80' & 90's but got disillusioned with the horrible lance armstrong period. when lockdown kicked in my neighbours had bikes and would be off, they knew i had been a cyclist years ago and needed a repair on their bike which i did, got a buzz and in coincidence was the start of the delayed tours 2020. I felt the Giro and vuelta were the best ive ever seen for new young talent coming through - and was bitten Got a £600 used bike just to see if the legs were still there at 52. With dedication, diet and strength and conditioning training just about there ready for spring. So, this week purchased my dream bike in my budget a bordman signature with campag record. in short, cycling vlogging just was not about years ago, with all the tech changes, rides adventures it is so inspirational to want to ride again. Like, so glad i got back into a sport when late 80's you were classed as a wierdo with the cycling gear on and may see one other rider in a week. Now i do out and will see loads of cyclists.
I’m a relatively new subscriber... but I love your channel... really great content! Just started a cycling UA-cam vlog myself recently, mostly just to as a tool to help me learn how to shoot and edit video, but yea, you are right, it’s a lot of work for sure!
I find it funny that you were a journalist because I am going to Minot State to earn my degree in broadcasting and professional Comm which includes journalism. I am going to be starting my own channel as well, ha ha.
Great advice as always - you were the inspiration for me to start my own channel and am under no illusions that turning YT into a job is an almost impossible dream. Doesn't stop us trying though ;-)
Is this Gregg Shorthand or some other type? I can't really make the words out to make sense to me but the letters in the first word look like: NVSE, the second word: on or own, third word: sis ted? fourth word: ? fifth word: PRSRE. I am lost. I haven't done shorthand since 1980. Lol
Until you become a creator and take it seriously, you don’t realise how much work it is. People watch a 10 minute video and think 🤔 hey don’t you just film and turn the camera on......????? No! Shots need to be set up, that means when you see a ride by, you need to stop, set up the camera and check the composition, exposure and how you want the clip to look. Then you ride by, stop, ride back, check the footage is how you want it to look, collect all your gear and move on, that is if the take gets it first time. THis is all for a 10 second clip! Then you have editing, talking head videos are the quickest to do, but broll is very time consuming. It takes me about an hour for every 30 seconds, so a 10 minute video could take me 5-6 hours to edit. YEP! SO add all this up and to produce a video is at least a FULL days work, maybe two. Then you need to keep uploading, so repeat, again and again. Tip from me, if you don’t like using cameras or editing, you are not going to make it. You need to have a passion for these things to be a Ytuber as it takes so much of your time. And this is the real nuts and bolts of being a Ytuber. I am still tiny, but keep plugging away with low views, this also tests your resolve. But everyone starts here. There is no instant fame. OH! Great back story of your journey, I remember seeing you in Adelaide, I could see you were changing your life right back then. Great job!
One more time Looking for a heart-to-heart Whenever you're ready We want you to know If ever you should look in the mirror And wonder who it is that you are And wonder what it is that you came for We’ll I know the answer You're beautiful You came from heaven You came down to this place To fill out the dark corners With your everlasting light And that's why I love you We love you C'mon shout Hey shout Shout Yeah you I love you We love you

Amazing story, you deserve every success.
Going to have a look at that book
Honestly it’s bloody incredible!!!
your passion shines through.
Very cool to hear your yt journey, this vid was very motivating for me :) Thanks Katie!
Ahhh thanks Paige! 🙂🙂
Think u have been a determined brave girl keep bring great vlogs Katie 🏅👌👍✨
Really like your channel you seem like a nice genuine person.
Thanks
It's lovely to hear your story!! thank you💜💜😎🥇
loved hearing your story, Katie. you deserve all the success in the world. As a newbie vlogger, I am just making videos for my own amusement but hopefully more people will enjoy them too, one day. Cheers and have a great week
Great video Katie
Thank you for this.
Nothing is impossible - if we can imagine it we can create it!!
Great video! Very interesting and inspiring 💪
Lol
Ahhh this is actually T Line :) it’s such a great thing isn’t it x
Felicidades y esta muy bonito el color de tu cabello
GCN presenter next? Mind you the lads are a bit far away down in Bath
Great attitude!
Thanks for the tips 👍
Beautiful woman w beautiful accent
When there is meaning it is easier.
So my question is, sorry I'm on my husband's account, do youtube or the advertisers dictate how often you post or what you can and can't post etc? 😁
Thank you!
Well Done ...... #LOA much maligned (except for those that 'know' ;-)
Until you become a creator and take it seriously, you don’t realise how much work it is.
Great job!
One more time
Looking for a heart-to-heart
Whenever you're ready

And wonder what it is that you came for
We’ll I know the answer
You're beautiful
You came from heaven
You came down to this place
To fill out the dark corners
With your everlasting light
And that's why I love you
We love you

Yeah you
