      Absolutely. Of course they didn't have everything we have but it doesn't make them less advanced as they possessed tech we have no clue how they were made, what they were used for and most of today's esoteric concepts are based on centuries old manuscripts. I also don't like the fact they we are forced to believe we are are the top of everything when we can't explain everything and still fail at everything (economy, tech, humanity, life in general, empathy well all the stuff an evolve species would have mastered) so no in the past they weren't greater but no as stupid as we depict them (on top of that seeing what we have done to our society lately)

    I'm not sure if it's important to his intriguing ideas of ancient civilizations, but my understanding is that Portolano maps did not have lines of longitude. They had compass rose lines to help chart a course

    • @_theFeltes
      @_theFeltes 2 місяці тому +8

      i don't think he made the argument that they have Longitude Lines, just that the relative longitude is pretty accurate, meaning that, without our modern concept of longitude, they could determine pretty well where things were relative to the same longitude, despite the shape of the continent.

    I mean, the mariner's astrolabe was invented immediately afterwards, maybe there was some similar device that preceded it by about a century and was used to make those maps. The timing of these maps appearing (right before the Age of Discovery) and the terribleness of basically every map preceding them suggests very strongly to me that there isn't some kind of ancient source.

      There is no reason not to allow someone that brings new evidence a seat at the table to discuss said evidence.

      @zeusdarkgod7727 not archeologist called him racist but go on with that lie from him... GT was not the property of "big archeology" you might realize that it is the property of Turkey.
      Archeology is speculative and if you would follow it just a little they don't really use absolutes and they change whenever they dig out something. Graham only changed where the advanced civilization is from and maybe a few minor details.

Everyone who said otherwise was crazy and put to death. Until they found out, their evidence was wrong. Science means to be open for new perspectives. The evidence he’s talking about are the maps and is making a hypothesis, what is wrong with that? That is mainly what traditional archeology is anyways.
