Had to refer to the manual when twisting to remove riving knife but THEN you need to push in towards the center of the machine to actually have it dis-engage.
Not so much a first time saw user, but setup of this saw was a bit confusing. Appreciate the quick walkthrough, really helpful, thank you. Earned a sub.
I tossed the instructions because I figured there would be a UA-cam video to show me how to put it together. No regrets 😂 this one is the most basic, easy to follow guide!
Purchased a DWE 7485 Table Saw and DWE 74911 table saw stand with wheels. Returning both of these items today or tomorrow to Home Depot as they are not compatible with each other. Neighbor helped but could not install one with the other
Hey, Thanks for the video. I just got mine today and wanted to watch a setup video for a bit of help in addition to the instructions.... You forgot to put on your anti kick back safety guard. It's located in back and near the stored tools under the top part of table. ----> Lady here, and we do like to check out the instructions to make sure were doing it correctly ;-)
I came looking for just how to do this part..cause as a lady, I too read the instructions and that part was the only one I'm not 100% sure I'm trying to do it right. 😅
one thing i found when setting up mine, the instructions talk about aligning the fence with the ruler marks on the front (where the fence guide slides). it says the fence should touch right up to the saw blade when at 0, but the fence does not go all the way to zero, the riving knife gets in the way, and it stays 2 tick marks (on the ruler) away. it does not calibrate to zero, and i am sure it is supposed to. any ideas??
This is a bit late im sure, but remove the riving knife the align the blade and the fence to the slide slots. Push the fence up to the blade so its touching and parallel then adjust the distance marker onto 0 if you need to.
I had to spend about 30 minutes to figure out how in the world you can take the roving knife out so quick like you’re showing in this video. You missed a very important piece of the puzzle to show in your video that you need to push the button/knob (whatever you want to call it) in order to take the knife out or put it back.
your seven minutes cost me 7 minutes and 1 beer, without watching would have been an hour trying to read the fucking dull ass instructions with my fucking glasses on. and 4 beers. Cheers!
You forgot to mention after loosening the tightener with arrows on it you must push it in the direction of the arrows to release riving knife!!! Perhaps you shouldn’t have thrown away your instructions??
Tried to watch because I just bought that model. Couldn’t listen because of the really bad sound. Between the radio and the shop echo, had to give up. Sorry.
Heres a hot tip. Learn how to set it up properly first before you try and teach others. I don't see that machine lasting to long under your protection. Oh and maybe don't drink while operating machinery that could change your life in an instant. Just saying. Good luck.
@@natmickan I agree but he demonstrated that he was lost without the directions. I looked the subject up to see if there was any thing that the directions did not elaborate or describe clearly. Obviously this was a waste of time. He needs to learn how to make better videos starting with reading the directions.
@@danielrivas3899 oh completely, this was a mess. I was only speaking to your last point, because UA-cam is the first place I (and many others) go to for directions to anything, and I don’t want anyone who sees that comment of yours to feel bad about the way they learn.
@@natmickan I misspoke on that statement. I do look for info on you tube . In fact I found another very helpful video on the same subject. Unfortunately some people thought this was good.

Thanks, I've been going crazy over this for a while. 😂
Thank you I was about to break out the power tools
You just saved me from frustration, thank you!
Thanks.. Kind of an important step, but maybe they changed it since this video. You saved me all kinds of time.
@@hcurtis77 O good. I get so much help from others on here. Good to know I can pay it forward somehow
Made it so simple compared to other Vids!! Thanks!!

Thanks. You really helped me. I have such a hard time with instructions lol.

This saved me. Thx for making this video.
I had an easier time with your directions than the instruction manual. Thank you for doing this video.
Awesome. Just bought my first table saw and this helped me quickly set it up. Thanks for the great tutorial!
Mine didn't come with a manual but you covered it all- awesome video !
Never have I seen such such a heavy handed use of a tool... I wonder how long this will last in his hands ?
He wants to prove he’s a man.
It’s 300 bucks… not 1200+. It’s a toy bro
@@maddawgzzzzSadly he would do the same.
Note with the roving knife. You actually have to push that spinning lock inward to pop it out and lock it back in.
Yep. That had me all messed up I was like what the hell it won't come out.
Thanks for video. Needed this!
Most informative Video! Bravo
Thanks. Very clear basic instructions that many of us needed.
Hi the uk dwe7485 does not have that switch on the table saw insert, we have to get a screw driver to turn it underneath. Wish I had that one!
Same here in Norway. But i'm gonna make a zero clearance insert so I'll figure out other soution for that.
Tks for helping to set up my table saw model DCS 7485
Overall great video.. the dial with the arrows we found has to be pushed in order to release the piece for the model DWE7485 Type 3
Thanks, this was awesome.
Very helpful! Thanks!

I still haven't decided if this was supposed to be a comedy skit or you were drunk or just literally clueless 😂
I need to know how to get the “kick back”!guard off the table 😭
Perfect explanation
Thanks for the quick easy set up video .
Let me show you how to set this up - but with everything backwards.
totally
Second video how do I install the kick back piece
Good video! He is SO DRUNK! So is his camera man! 😂
Not a very good example to set.
Perfectly and concisely explained.

Those anyone know the diagram for how to connect the switch on this table saw dwe7485 model
Bro, whats the size of that garage?
Like your Videos! Thank u!
good stuff
Thank you.
that's a mouth full- that's what she said i'm thinking about this saw thanks for the video
When I saw that baby saw. I knew you would be drinking a bud light. 😂
Please consider using a lav mic to keep your audio levels even. A camera mic is about as bad as you can get.
You forgot another attachment stored underneath right beside the miter attachment it's a anti kickback device that mounts to the guard attachment
YEP, important safety stepped missed..
Tutorial brought to you by your friends at Half in The Bag & Figure It Out As You Go.
Can you use dado blades with thus table saw?
No. Arbor is to short for safe use of a dado.
@@nategemelli9414 thanks! Ended up getting a kobalt.
"It might be easier to do this beforeand" hahahahaha
He’s drinking a bud light lmao
You didn’t mention the saw should be unplugged During any work being done to the saw
Safety first Ryan my friend lol
Why does everyone in America have a garage bigger than my house (london Uk),so frustrating. 🙂
Nice little video, just bought one of those👍

You should change the title to this video to “getting acquainted with the DW 7485.” you didn’t go over anything about actually setting it up.
does he still drink bud light? my guess would be no!
Do no operate while being drunk or drinking. After this cat. PLEASE read the direction

Lol! I was thinking the same damn thing! I can't help but smile.
no dont turn it on and do a cut why would you ever do that for a setup video??
Why make a setup video when you dont know how to set it up
Lol
