I think many of them explained what Nelson actually did with Jailer. Yes, it was all this slow-mo mass elevating scenes but he absolutely redefined it. To make such big stars in the film to do ntg yet bring the mass factor out by their planned executions was indeed refreshing. Now, that's a redefining commercial cinema. To make thalaivar be a regular guy and give a comeback at the right time with the right screenplay was such a refreshing moment.
Really happy to see Nelson get the credit he deserves. He deserves this year, especially given how Sudha Kongara hasn't done anything in 3 years and she still got invited for a roundtable. Directors who actually released a movie this year should be given immediate consideration.

So...how many years before a Screenwriters' Adda? I mean there's constant lip service how crucial good scripts are for movies got damn! We want to hear what writers have to say!! ❤
A possible list for Screenwriters adda Juhi Chathurvedi Bhavani Iyer Syam Pushkaran Varun Grover Also there should be a separate adda for filmmakers who exclusively write their own scripts. That's a very unique trait too.
I think there are enough platforms that hear Director's experiences. And despite a lot of director's writing their own movies, weak scripts is still a problem in the mainstream space. Trained Screenwriters' have started streaming into the film industry since the formation of the Screenwriting Course at FTII in Pune. We want to hear how the hell are these guys surviving and what are they doing to tell their stories?
What an amazing show where we got to see and hear some of my favourite directors. Can't wait for the end of the year when I can see SSE side B on amazon prime. Waiting for viduthalai 2. Must catch Jigardhanda duplex and Kathal the core in the OTT platforms. It would be wonderful if FCS can announce the dates for the OTT releases of the films of all these directors. Thanks.
Vetri long shot basically means he took a challenge and decided to tell a story with his long shot and allow audience to understand the rest. He was concerned about individual cuts might deviate the audience attention from the bigger story. Such long shots you can see in Fargo, directors like Cohen brothers tend to do long shots often.
Guess you should do Music Directors Adda... Cause they are obviously are soul of the movies... Jailer - Rockstar Anirudh Jigarthanda - Santhosh Narayan Saptha Sagaradache Ello - Charan Raj Rocky and Rani - Amit Trivedi
Vetrimaaran has built good reputation. His all films are hit. That's why Viduthalai Producer is not afraid of budget. He knew that the movie will become superhit and he will get the money. If its vetrimaaran's film Dhanush will say ok to act without even asking story. Even if I have crores of money I will give money to make his dream project without any compromise.

Apart from watching Vetrimaran, Karthik Subburaj and Nelson amongst these amazing directors. I was happy to see Jeo being able to convey things in his own way, despite english not being a language he is comfortable with, it can be very overwhelming for a person in such a scenario but I am glad he got through it by communicating and getting things across in his own way. Shows that when it comes to art you have to have a good hold of the language you are making films in and you have to be good in the art of film making which all of these people are.. Want to see films mentioned in the video especially Sapta Sagaradaache Ello and Kaathal.. Great presentation yet again by Anupama..
In my opinion, it's crucial not only to involve directors and actors in discussions but also to include other essential technicians such as directors of photography (DOPs), editors, VFX artists, art directors, and music directors. Bringing together this diverse range of expertise can greatly enrich the collaborative discourse."
If their work is just comercial & meaningless stuff , not necessary to bring those guys tbh ... Only if their work elavated the movie , next level then yeah .

Thanks a lot for this very enriching video, Team FC.
It feels great how South Indian films dominated Film Companion Directors Adda. This year we witnessed so many beautiful films from them. Vetri,Karthik,Hemanth❤️
It's the rise of alternative cinema from Kannada that's pleasing which isn't some magnum opus. Wish the trend continues with the rest of the regions. P. S. Malayalam industry already does this.
Vetri, Karthik, Hemanth and Jeo Baby
Watch jeo babies film n cut these directors lol
But why these South directors are behaving so arrogantly and attitude???
Last tym also samantha n othe rsouth directtors were misbehaving and showing too much bad attitude...
What is wrong with them? Plz tell them they all make worst movies
@@tony-pc4kdreally please tell
Vettri sir is dope..
His work is enigmatic, see Vada Chennai it's a piece of Art..
Vetrimaran and Dhanush are made for each other , it's art when they both collaborate..
Happy to see my favourite tamil directors - Vetrimaran and Karthik Subbaraj, Nelson also enjoyed Sapta Sagaradaache Ello from Kannada
Marry her if someone watches vetrimaran as Konkona sen , Vetrimaran is On Another Level
Omg, i noticed same thing too..lol... Seems like one can read through Konkona's mind when she was watching Vetri talking 😂❤... hahaha... "Vetri is the man, man"😊. I have to agree with you. Marry her if someone watches Vetrimaran as Konkona Sen 😂❤
Vetrimaaran - Viduthalai 1.
Karthik Subbaraj - Jigarthanda Double X.
Nelson - Jailer.
3 different types of movie from Tamil 🎉
Jailer was outta syllabus
Tamil domination 🔥🫶🏻
Jailer is not in the same level lmao

Actors roundtable: eager to talk about themselves
Directors roundtable: eager to listen about everyone else .
Basically it's EGO VS TALENT
V right
Actors are like that... They just want to talk about themselves. It about selling themselves all the time for them.

1:12:40 Hemanth smile when karthik said Side A... Proud of what you created Hemanth. Trust me, i dont mind spending 600+ rupees/ticket on your movies as i feel it will be worth it. i watched sitting in recliner but felt i was in edge of my heart watching what's happening
Loving how the film director hemanth speaks . Should watch his movies
Pl do watch. All his 3 or actually 4 movies are gems. He wrote part of the screenplay of andhadhun also . SSE side A and B are just sheer art and poetry
Yes his movies are paced slower. But they do show a lot in the slower pace.
@@Asecret-rd1qe that I agree. Superiority complex with being a niche audience is a thing
Vetrimaran-KarthikSubbaraj-Nelson... ❤❤❤❤ U never exclude Tamil directors in Indian Cinemaa
Jeo baby...kathal the core❤❤
That Kannada guy knows things!
He is here to stay!
He is Heamanth M Rao
I think many of them explained what Nelson actually did with Jailer. Yes, it was all this slow-mo mass elevating scenes but he absolutely redefined it. To make such big stars in the film to do ntg yet bring the mass factor out by their planned executions was indeed refreshing. Now, that's a redefining commercial cinema. To make thalaivar be a regular guy and give a comeback at the right time with the right screenplay was such a refreshing moment.
True
Yes bro
Really happy to see Nelson get the credit he deserves. He deserves this year, especially given how Sudha Kongara hasn't done anything in 3 years and she still got invited for a roundtable.
Directors who actually released a movie this year should be given immediate consideration.
They wanted female representation that's all
This is Konkana Sen Sharma, not Sudha Kongura. Get your facts right.
With due respect and utmost respect to all the directors, I’m here voor Jeo Baby Sir.
To make a movie like ” The Great Indian Kitchen” is from a genius level.
When I saw it the first time I was speechless , dumbfounded..
Then I went and saw it now 20x or more, I swear
Watch kaathal..
The great Indian kitchen, in which Hindu family it is happening I don’t know… in tamilnadu I’m not aware of these kinda of incident at all
Excited for Vetrimaaran 🫡
Disappointed ☹️

Hemanth with that wide smile throughout vetri's story
As a kannaadiga , for me the proud feel is SSE side a and b is the main talk of this show ❤
Loved this. The concept of a director roundtable is such a treat for cinephiles. Listening to Vetrimaaran is almost like attending a masterclass on how to make films. Thank you for this!

So...how many years before a Screenwriters' Adda? I mean there's constant lip service how crucial good scripts are for movies got damn! We want to hear what writers have to say!! ❤
Absolutely true!!!! So much lip service but how often do the script writers get invited for an invigorating discussion on the art of screen writing.
A possible list for Screenwriters adda
Juhi Chathurvedi
Bhavani Iyer
Syam Pushkaran
Varun Grover
Also there should be a separate adda for filmmakers who exclusively write their own scripts. That's a very unique trait too.
they used to do that before covid
Unfortunately Nelson Karthik and Vetri write their own scripts don’t they
I think there are enough platforms that hear Director's experiences.
Vetrimaran is the pride of tamil cinema 📽️💯
I m very happy to see Jeo Baby there for Kaathal the core of Mammootty, It's one of the sensational movie of 2023.
Very Excited for Hemanth Rao❤🎉🎉
Kaathal the core.... his malayalam accent ❤
Vetris tamil accent ❤
What an amazing show where we got to see and hear some of my favourite directors. Can't wait for the end of the year when I can see SSE side B on amazon prime. Waiting for viduthalai 2. Must catch Jigardhanda duplex and Kathal the core in the OTT platforms. It would be wonderful if FCS can announce the dates for the OTT releases of the films of all these directors. Thanks.
Jiguthanda Doublex - Today OTT Release
Which Ott?@@evanglinerebecca3904
Vetri long shot basically means he took a challenge and decided to tell a story with his long shot and allow audience to understand the rest. He was concerned about individual cuts might deviate the audience attention from the bigger story. Such long shots you can see in Fargo, directors like Cohen brothers tend to do long shots often.
Speaking or having an idea of representation of a common man across issues is lit Vetri Sir is massive 🔥🔥🔥
Karthik Subburaj × Vettrimaraan × Nelson . ⭐
Guess you should do Music Directors Adda... Cause they are obviously are soul of the movies...
Jailer - Rockstar Anirudh
Jigarthanda - Santhosh Narayan
Saptha Sagaradache Ello - Charan Raj
Rocky and Rani - Amit Trivedi
rocky aur rani was composed by pritam bro
Vetrimaaran has built good reputation. His all films are hit. That's why Viduthalai Producer is not afraid of budget. He knew that the movie will become superhit and he will get the money. If its vetrimaaran's film Dhanush will say ok to act without even asking story. Even if I have crores of money I will give money to make his dream project without any compromise.
Wow Film Companion. I thought last year's Kamal Hasan and Rajamouli Adda could not be surpassed. But u have outdone yourselves this time. This was so, so good.
I had planned to watch this in 3 seatings but ended up watching it in one.❤ Absolute masterclass!
Kudos to FC for this Roundtable. What a choice Filmmaker you guys have brought this year. Also, Anu mam, you have mastered the skill of interviewing. Absolutely loved it.
Why haven't you invited any Marathi directors to the Roundtable 2023?

SSE Side A & B will be remembered for years and hemanth rao is like next gen maniratnam
Hemanth Rao our proud❤
Excited to see Karthik Subbaraj!! Absolutely loooved Jigarthanda double x

Only if their work elavated the movie , next level then yeah .
knowledge of cinema in vetrimaaran's point of view is amazing
Love how Konkona listens to everyone so attentively
