As an older adult skater now learning the basic dances, these videos are so very helpful. Thank you! I will make sure to throw you a stuffed animal as US Nationals that I attend every year.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Brilliant, shows strong, accurate footwork. Can see the blades throughout for edges, can also see posture. Well explained except in American not British, we use advanced crossover not progression and swing and slip but maybe I'm wrong?? I've watched this, Dutch Waltz and Rythm Blues over and over so I dream the steps. We will see if it pays off.....
Tried it for the first time today on ice. Apart from the fact I am really average and terrified of committing to a deep edge, and practise alone, I have the basic pattern in my head and even with the wrong music over the speakers, I could complete the dance - sort of Haha. Thank you both for sharing your skills and providing a really useful visual tool that I can watch repeatedly. Showed my coach on U Tube today he is an ice dancer not free skater. He said it was an excellent teaching aid. Now it's practise practise....
Hi Jai, thanks!! We did it based on the USFSA rule book, we both have taken a number of students through the this dance test, but I wouldn't be surprised if the steps vary between countries as I don't believe this dance has official ISU guidelines. We've been really busy with getting ready for Nationals and work, but plan on posting new videos soon.
Thank you for the reply. The steps are identical, just the words we use are a little different occasionally. The clarity of the videos due to the placement of the camera on the ice and your outstandingly clean beautiful footwork may make me jealous but as an older beginner, it is very encouraging. I can only do forward dances at present ( fear haha) so when you are less busy, how about the cha cha and Riverside Rumba? Both forward skating only? Like you have all the time in the world!! I will be routing for you in the Nationals even though I'm a Brit xx
Hi everyone, check out our other Canasta Tango video: "50. Edges and Tracking: Canasta Tango + Corrections vs Feel" ua-cam.com/video/CPT5gPYiTVE/v-deo.html

Thank you very much for this fantastic video! I have been working on my Canasta Tango on Roller Skates! The only problem that I have is coming out from Cross Role! I mean I ran of the the time to finish my cross role before I run into Shase! Would you give me some advice what I should do please?
Thanks Sharareh! Take the progressive before the cross roll closer to the wall, and deepen all of the edges, especially on the cross roll. Check out our video on Deep Outside Edges, it will help you with maintaining the pattern: ua-cam.com/video/udLwxY442Iw/v-deo.html Also, we will be recording an additional Canasta Tango video explaining how to do the edges and tracking, I will be sure to go over that section in the video for you.
I have seen the video. It did help me to figure out my deep edges! Thank you so much! Much appreciated! I am looking forward to see you next video for Canasta Tango!
+Sharareh Houshmandyar We didn't get a chance to record it before we left, so we made an Edges and Tracking of the Fiesta Tango, but we're hoping to get the Canasta Edges and Tracking recorded this week!
