Hey everyone! We decided to book a 1 night stay in an Executive Runway View room at the Heathrow Renaissance hotel! This is one of our favourite hotels to stay at when flying from Heathrow.

Love the view!! I like how the buffet was all sorted into single serve so it was safe.
2000- 2005 I used to stay frequently in that hotel. The business lounge looks over the runway and I remember many days working from the lounge and watching the air traffic. Three things I remember , you used to need a map to find your room it was like a maze , you always got a mini toblerone at check in and myfavorite memory was Concorde taking off and triggering all the car Alarms in the car park our back near the runway that used to be packed.

We have just booked this hotel before our Florida holiday (fingers crossed) next November,never flown from Heathrow before,so thank you for this,it looks amazing,and yes we have a runway view room,yay.x

Very nice, guys. We are still very hesitant doing anything. And the south and florida are NOT safe... but having said that, we are vacationing soon in our favorite area, socially distancing with maybe a trip to twistee treat on 192 and enjoying our own villa. We will go to disney springs and eat outside at one restaurant, but I dont see us going in a shop yet. Even Basin :). Hope you both are doing well and life will be nor al next year so you can come back.

Your fish and chips looked really good. I like your idea of staying at an airport hotel. I wouldn’t do it at mine cuz you need an airline ticket to access the shops and restaurants. San Francisco would be a good one though.

Looked like you had a nice night away guys 😀. Like you we love plane watching so if we fly from Heathrow we will def look at booking that hotel with runway views ! I don’t know if you ever fly from other airports but if you ever get a chance to stay at the Radisson Blu Manchester airport and get a runway view it’s amazing !!

Love the hotel, we have many conventions there and the staff are always so helpful and friendly. I've even been there with my R2D2 rolling around the lobby!
It is so wonderful to see you guys happy and healthy while enjoying a daycation (my own made up term). I can't wait to see you board the plane to Disney World as soon as it is safe. Just seeing the planes, hearing the sounds and the joy in your voices has made my rainy Sunday so much better. Thank you for all the energy you put into your channel.

If you ever stay in Chicago and fly out of Ohare, The Hyatt on mannheim road has mindblowing landing strip views. Getting your luggage out of the car, you think the plane is going to land on the hotel its so close. If you look at the pictures on their website? The rooms are huge, their breakfast is amazing... and the view.... we will always stay there the night before we fly out to Disney World. And.... its alot cheaper than The Hilton. ( which is also a plane spotting hotel by Ohare ) and whats so fun about all the landings, is Chicago is famous for their wicked cross winds coming off the lake... so watching these pilots land these big planes... they are bouncing all over the place as they land and straighten out at the last second. Its freaky exciting.
£63 for a runway view, never heard of!! I was at LHR on Saturday morning, very quiet.
That looked like a really lovely hotel. The fish and chips looked really nice Rich! I thought they had really put some thought into making the breakfast buffet safe.
We flew to Singapore on an SA A380 in 2015 and it was next level. It made the connecting 747 to New Zealand look insignificant. It was like going from travelling in a Rolls Royce to travelling in a Ford Focus.

I had the same kind of idea today. I spontaneously went to the airport (Schiphol) today to have a bit of a stroll and do some people watching. Unfortunately the rooftop terrace where I could do some plane watching was closed due to the pandemic, so instead I took a bus ride back to another train station because I knew it would drive past some planes.

This was great . Loved all of the airport tips . We normally fly from Heathrow/ Gatwick and I always find travel days a bit stressful due to disorientation so this is great .
We are having a few evacuations too and getting used to the new normal .
Stay cation
We were supposed to be in the area this week whilst we were visiting the Merlin Parks. We have made the 5 hour journey for the last 4 years so really missing it. Even though we do the theme parks, I love staying close to Heathrow to watch the planes. Parking is costly though when we stay 4 nights. Thanks for the hotel review. What a great view of the airport.
There is also a terrific Indian restaurant in the village of Sipson which is a 10 minute walk from the hotel. Nice way to walk off a flight on a stop over.....and the food on way back to the bath road hotels!
Never flown from Heathrow normally Gatwick fingers crossed Virgin are back there before i go again (nothing booked yet !!) This was really helpful as it gave me a good idea of what to expect .. Also was talking to my husband the other day about just doing a night in a Airport hotel great idea keep them coming x stay safe guys xx

I so enjoyed this! Inspired me to book an airport hotel night before our city break to Prague in September. How are you feeling about your trip to Majorca with all the quarantine changes? Also, just to update, got our BA refund two days after they cancelled the flights. Pretty good! X
We just had our first trip away from home, stayed two days in Windsor and did the same as you with wiping down all the surfaces lol!! 😂
If you go there again you should try the Pheasant Inn which is within walking distance to that hotel it’s a fabulous old pub and they serve wonderful food there it’s my in-laws local as they go to the restaurant which is behind the pub and they have a nice seating area outside so you can have a pub lunch or evening meal and still social distance
Was it bath road encircling airport giving access to hotels? Reminds me of final scene of film “vips “ when Liz goes back to mr Burton and they drive away in their Bentley or RR.

oooh Tokyo! I reeeaaalllyyy wanna go to Tokyo Disneyland :( I just got a brilliant idea: I'll be turning 40 in May 2023. Tokyo Disneyland will also be 40 that year..... wink wink :p Let's go completely crazy, make it a All the Disney parks before 40 trip haha :p Start in Paris, off to WDW, Anaheim, Hong Kong, Shanghai and ending in Tokyo on my birthday. Wouldn't that be the dream.... :) better start saving haha :p Aw man... all those planes... I don't get it, are so many people allowed to travel abroad? We aren't allowed to leave Europe(unless it's for your job or if you have double ID from another country).
We are doing the exact same thing 🤣. We should have been in Orlando this week (today Volcano Bay). Now rebooked for 31st July next year. So...we booked a night in the Radisson Blu Manchester Airport. Spent 2 hours last night watching planes coming and going from our 8th floor room. Now the painful bit...returning home this morning instead of heading to T2 for a Virgin flight to Orlando 😩
We’ve just booked to stay here in an executive room for next September. I’ve looked at how to get here and it looks a bit confusing on the road in front of the hotel. Is there a turning in the dual carriageway or do you have to go past the hotel to come back to it (hopefully that makes sense) thank you for the great vlogs we always enjoy them . Take care stay well

Wow that’s cheap we have a executive room with lounge at the raddison at Manchester and it’s about £400 a night with airport and runway view but the room is huge with a separate lounge
The 380 looks slow and too heavy to fly
