Hi, this is extremely helpful because I’ve got my GCSEs year 9 in just under a week and I have really enjoyed the parts on this with the drawings and notes so thank you so muchhhhh!
I watched this one day before my biology science test, and I got a Grade 8. That's the highest I've ever gotten in a science test. Thank you so much Cognito!
I’m doing my final mocks at the minute ( I do triple science) and honestly you are so underrated ! Your videos are so helpful, especially the drawings and diagrams
Hi, I just wanna say a huge thank you to the creators of this channel, I use your website on a daily basis! These videos are honestly carrying my GCSEs!
anyone who needs it here r the notes: Cell cycles, chromosomes and mitosis - All multicellular organisms (humans, animals) require a continuous supply of new cells - For growth (younger children) ,development and repair (skin cells which constantly fall off) - Process which these cells are generated cakes the cell cycle (life cycle of cell) - Growth, DNA replication + mitosis , division (cytokinesis) - Step one...cell grows in size and increases the number of sub secular structures it contains (mitochondria, ribosomes) - Step 2... DNA (chromosomes) is replicated so the 2 new cells will have a full set of DNA, but the duplicate stays attached to the other chromosomes that it was copied from (x shape) - Step 3... When ready to divide, all 46 chromosomes line up in cell centre and cell fibres from each side of cell attach to the half of the chromosome, and they pull the half of the chromosome to the opposite sides of the cell (opposite poles) breaking them into halves - Step 4... Division ... Cell membrane and cytoplasm pull apart forming 2 daughter cells ( each cells have the same DNA and are identical)
There's also another approach to memorise the phases of mitosis which is the P.M.A.T strategy (prophase, metaphase, anaphase, telophase.) including Cytokinesis which is just the separation/division into daughter cells also when alienation/division takes place a nucleus is formed as well :)
Thank you so much for all your videos. I am watching them all for Biology, Chemistry and Geography GSCE to make sure I know all the content. In preparation for A level. They are so helpful so thank you!
This better help coz my exams are in now less than a week and after asking for 2 years for extra support and a reader in my exams they have decided for both and I don’t get very high grade 2 at most so when I do my exam I really hope I can remember this but it was so helpful thank you

Please make videos for a level biology as well. Your videos have helped me so much with science and I would find it so beneficial if I were able to use them for the next few years. Even if you are not able to I want to say thanks. 🙏🙏
lol I also have the gcse biology exam tomorrow. i’m predicted a 7 in science and I should do quite well on this exam. it’s just a few things like this that I need to brush up on. cognito is the best for that kinda stuff
yes, it is :) if you go on their website, you can filter it exactly to your course, such as "higher or foundation, triple or combined and it also has options for whether you're doing AQA GCSE or Edexcel GCSE, etc" It has all the topics with videos and example practice questions. Highly recommend it :)

so each cell in our bodies has 46 chromosomes?
Heya - nearly all of them. Sex cells like egg and sperm cells only have 23, and red blood cells don't have any.
Cognito does this mean then that when the sperm and egg join that the 23 in the sperm and the other 23 in the egg join to become 46?
@@libbyclayton1649 yes thats right haploid and haploid gamete fuses to form diploid zygote
