Oh my goodness Nan!! My 10 yr old daughter, Chloe, helped me prepare this tonight, & all of us are raving over how very delicious this is & Chloe said, "Momma, that was fun & easy to make." Thank you for sharing this! Wish I could serve you & Hollis up a plate now. 😊 Blessings to you both!

+Lisa Taylor Nancy here- thank you for watching and trying the fried rice. It made me so happy to know that you and your family have one more meal that you all can enjoy and be full and can be cooked several times a week and it will be different and delicious each time. Both Hollis and I have been single parents before so we definitely understand the challenges most one income family faces. In the back of my mind when I was deciding about the recipe to choose, there was the story my best friend told me about her mom. She told me that her momma use to feed her and her bother beans and franks and because they did not have enough she would go to bed hungry. She did not realize how much her mother sacrifice for her and her brother until years later. Now God has blessed her to bless her mom and she has ben able to take her Mon on many trips and cruises. They just came back from Mexico from a 5 star resort. As a parent I know many parents would do this, so my main concern was to make sure the parents enjoy and got full too. I know God will abundantly bless you for the sacrifices that you are making now for your children. Have a Blessed day! Nancy

I have spent my entire Sunday watching your videos! Thank God for you. It seems like so many people are having to make the choice between life and death with regards to what we are putting in our bodies and the food choices that we are being offered. Thank you so much for your humility, your story and acknowledgement that people need food and you can grow what you cant buy or even shouldn't buy! God bless the both of you and your harvest shows that God is pleased with what you are passing on to all of us!! You are truly teaching the gospel thru your channel and how God has given us everything we need: Sun, light, water, and patience. :)

Yum! Growing up in a suburb of Los Angeles in the 1960s, we would drive to Chinatown once a month to get "supplies" like a 50# sack of rice. With the leftover rice from the week mom would make fried rice with Farmer John's thick sliced bacon, frying the rice in 2 tablespoons from the bacon grease can next to the stove. I'll have to try your recipe! It sounds great especially for a cold winter supper.

I have made a similar fried rice recipe but with chicken only. Can't wait to make it like yours. Right now I am trying to locate a place to get fish to plant in my garden. I know this is going to be a great idea. We live in Tennessee and I know the Cherokee Indians used fish when they planted their crops. I can't believe how many tomatoes you all got with just 4 tomato plants. You and Hollis are too cute for words. Just love you both.

This looks really yummy. I can't eat pork, but, I bet some turkey ham or turkey bacon would be a pretty awesome substitute! I love that this is so flexible, too. And if you don't eat meat or don't have any for some reason, you could just use mushrooms for the meat.. Or tofu, seitan, quorn, etc.. Very flexible, simple, tasty recipe! Fantastic idea! Imagine being single and a college student or something.. This would be an awesome and healthy alternative to something like ramen. And could last a week! Lol xD I really do love this!

jrockdolly - The Quorn "chicken" fillets or strips would be great in this! I love it, think it is better than actual chicken. It is also sooooo moist! Also I would love to add my homemade seitan bakun, to it, which is super delicious (all carnivores who tasted it, loves it too) and in place of beef, I think maybe dried soy meat/medallions, cooked for a while in a beefy marinade, could be great or you could probably find a great substitute in the supermarket freezer (I am having a complete case of aphasia right now, can't give you the US brand name, even if I know it so well. Not Tofurky. Probably the most common brand of vegan meat substitutes in the US)! For the eggs, I would use either a store bought vegan egg substitute, make a tofu scramble or make a chickpea flour based omelette. Yum! Veganizing a meal like this, really isn't much of a challenge today, I think. After transitioning and getting used to cooking in a different way, it gets natural and you find ways that work for you and you are able to eat what you enjoy to eat, just without animal products, and strictly plant based... ☺️

+Rosalie Kiff Thanks, glad you enjoyed. I do use a rice cooker and I used Kokuho Rose rice most of the time. But I also like jasmine rice because it's less sticky with fried rice. Enjoy.😘
