Simon, need another two rudders, to give you more thrust and control through turns, just link one on each side of the exiting rudder. you won't believe the difference it will make.
I went for an airboat ride and looked at the photos. It had two rudders, and the engine was further astern. However, the engine being further back may have been due the need to balance the weight of the passengers. Anyway, AWESOME JOB!!!
Next time taking the engine off, turn the boat around, so it will roll out of the garage. The stern is lower than the bow. Or lower the front end of the trailer. Great fun Simon ❤
Boat yard hey Simon here the perfect boat to use as a barge to be able to haul all your stuff to and from your boat Simon takes it home immediately turns it into an airboat lol
I have weird dreams, but none so weird as seeing a sort of vessel I associate with the everglades and alligators gallivanting past Sarinda, in Wales. You two make even weirder dreams come true.
Safety belt? Think sudden stop, like on a sand bar. I believe that’s what they use in the Everglades. Helmet for the operator wouldn’t be amiss. Looks like a fun ride.
You need to add horizontal stabilizers along with the vertical stearing so you can adjust according to the frontal weight like when you are carrying a person or material.
Try moving the whole mount one foot to the rear to improve balance for a start and two rudders about two feet apart to give more air flow over the rudders for low speed control. Google fl. Air boat designs. From a fl. Native good luck!
I love it you all have a second channel. I have only started watching you 9 months ago. I love all your content. I never miss a show now. Mike from Halifax Nova Scotia, Canada
You crack me up Simon Your laugh is the best ! Anyway well done haha Oh and that music at the end ….. hilarious. Omg! Just saw the bleepers at the end end !
Simon now you need get a roll of slick bottom and screw it to the bottom. It will protect the bottom as well as make it easier to go across wet grass ect.
I built a hovercraft with a big fan on the back. That was loads of fun. I also owned and flew a microlight, like your donor. I enjoyed both, but the hovercraft was much less formal (no licence needed) and heaps of fun.
You Sir were one very happy chappy. Having the time of your life on your homemade airboat. Not common in the UK but always look so much fun on calm water. Might want to give your prop a good inspection after it's little bounce at the end. I cringed so hard when that happened. Hope damage wasn't too bad.! Great content as always from you guys here and on the main channel. Thanks for being yourselves and just enjoying life as much as you can. Your energy really makes every video that much more engaging, makes us all feel part of your little happy Ship Happens family.
Hi Simon, this is the best creation ever done. Oh man, I can’t stop laughing. How good this is. Keep up the good work love it Gemma don’t be a spoilsport I love you girl Cliff from Logan city Queensland Australia. I’m on the big island
I went for an airboat ride a few years back and looked at the photos. It had two rudders, and the engine was further astern. However, the engine being further back may have been due the need to balance the weight of the passengers. Anyway, AWESOME JOB!!!
The *Seastorm Boats* are based on a boat construction method developed (or at least pioneered) by *Pioner Boats,* another Norwegian boat manufacturer that has been making rotation molded HDPE plastic boats since 1959. I bet that every Norwegian that is a frequent boat user at some point in life has been onboard a Pioner boat, and when you know that no other country has more coastal small boats per person than Norway, EVERYBODY knows a Pioner. It's good they got competition as boat brands are extremely durable working horses made for all-season conditions. Btw Pioner is made in Aurskog located in the deep forests east of Oslo and just a 15 min drive from where I work. At some point these boats were an inspiration for the car brand Pivco that made tiny EV car brand with HDPE bodies. Pivco was later renamed Think, bought by Ford, but is now dead. *Pivco/Think* is the only industrially based car manufacturer we have had in Norway and in many ways they revolutionized/initiated the policies why Norway is now the world's leading EV country.
As I watched this, I could imagine you building a hovercraft big enough to carry a half ton of stuff plus a couple of passengers. 😂 You’d have a blast with that, too.😎
"That didn't go to plan" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 No $hit sherlock! Worked brilliantly I think - shame about the noise complaint, but could have predicted that would happen! Need to find somewhere even more desolate for the next run. Blackpool seafront maybe? I'm joking!!!! Suggested improvements: Multiple rudder blades - as seen on all the best Florida airboats don't you know! Seat belt nowt else I can think of right now! Bloody brilliant! Richard (no not that one!)
i love a scrapheap challenge - good effort Si funny i was wondering about the para glider engine noise, they can be particularly annoying where i am, we have three swarming the sea front but only in the summer, so not so bad, but sure the exhausts can be improved (haha go electric) love that, dropping it to the floor, 'the eagle has landed' and all you needed was an extra 6 inches (bet the Mrs says that) and wonderful to see Robbo - happy Christmas to everyone
Put a screw thread on the nose so the pitch can be fine tuned for getting the trim of the boat just right. Looks fun and it's exactly what i would of done
I have an old A drive single ignition 503 Rotax aircraft engine I was thinking about doing the same thing with. Make sure all the wood on that prop is sealed. Bugger will de-laminate, especially in your climate.
Kind of reminds me of the time machine movie when the alarm went off and then the winds of change blew through the shop then into the future. Good thing the clock on the wall didn't start spinning.
Simon, you never cease to amaze me, That air boat is absolutely brilliant. So' some spoilsport made a complaint about the noise, don't other boats with engine's make a noise where you are then!.
Simon, need another two rudders, to give you more thrust and control through turns, just link one on each side of the exiting rudder. you won't believe the difference it will make.
agreed. The other two rudders can be on simple pivots and linked to the center. Smaller diameter tires
I went for an airboat ride and looked at the photos. It had two rudders, and the engine was further astern. However, the engine being further back may have been due the need to balance the weight of the passengers. Anyway, AWESOME JOB!!!
Simon you’re a pretty sharp guy and I’m sure you’ve thought of some ear protection. Might have on insert plugs. All the best.
Next time taking the engine off, turn the boat around, so it will roll out of the garage. The stern is lower than the bow. Or lower the front end of the trailer. Great fun Simon ❤
100%, it will greatly increase control. Also, to trim the bow he needs to bring the nose of the aircraft up, not down.
I honestly believe Simon is a MAD DOCTOR of some kind!😂
Boat yard hey Simon here the perfect boat to use as a barge to be able to haul all your stuff to and from your boat Simon takes it home immediately turns it into an airboat lol
Making hauling the stuff even faster
I have weird dreams, but none so weird as seeing a sort of vessel I associate with the everglades and alligators gallivanting past Sarinda, in Wales. You two make even weirder dreams come true.
Love it. Gems let Simon release his Florida man side.
Wonderful! Gemma buy him some welding goggles for Christmas! Blessings on you both!
Pure unadulterated genius.
well said sir, these two are just a great pair.
Simon and Robbo demonstrating boys and their toys. All work and no play etc. Brilliant fun video. A classic, loved it.
Brilliant!! Like the T shirt says 'I shouldn't be left unsupervised'. 😂 Cobble up a muffler for the exhaust, keep the native happy.
Most of the noise is the prop
Safety belt? Think sudden stop, like on a sand bar. I believe that’s what they use in the Everglades. Helmet for the operator wouldn’t be amiss.
Looks like a fun ride.
Don’t ruin this with safety gear 😂
Next stop - hovercraft. No worries about hidden mud.
Brilliant Simon! You look as happy as pig in muck!

OMG!!! Don't break the Prop!!! LoL. Them darn things are the money! LoL. 👍🏻👍🏻😎😎😎
Absolutely fantastic! Genius stuff! Noise? You will be gone before anyone knows you are there!
Simon now you need get a roll of slick bottom and screw it to the bottom. It will protect the bottom as well as make it easier to go across wet grass ect.
Simon… you are a nutter in the best kinda way! 🇨🇦
Bloody fantastic. Fun boat as well as a workboat.
You amaze me every time I watch the two of you. Two rudders plus just move the engine back a foot should help with the bow.
It handles far better than I thought it would.
Well done .
Boys and toys, love the airboat Simon.
That was a blast. I think I grinned the whole way through that.
By jingos I enjoyed that….outstanding mate, just sheer joy. Thank you both.
I built a hovercraft with a big fan on the back. That was loads of fun. I also owned and flew a microlight, like your donor. I enjoyed both, but the hovercraft was much less formal (no licence needed) and heaps of fun.
A man after my own heart ✊
😂 Big kid with a new toy! Works great!

Awesome job Simon, It reminds me of Professor Pat Pending of the Wacky Races. 🤣
Best project so far, brilliant 🎅🎅🎅🙉😂😂
it was fun!
Simon, you are just a clever man😊. To keep the locals happy. Maybe put some sort of muffler on the exhaust.
The wackiness refined! Well done! Right out of The Everglades, you will eventually need a small block Chevy! Colin Furze look out…
Simon is one clever bloke the best kind of clever i.e. practical
What a fantastic project you have to be catching up ship happens subscriptions level soon !
Fingers crossed!
Simon giggles like a little Kid🤣😂😅😅😆
I went for an airboat ride a few years back and looked at the photos. It had two rudders, and the engine was further astern. However, the engine being further back may have been due the need to balance the weight of the passengers. Anyway, AWESOME JOB!!!
brilliant episode! couldn't stop smiling. until the end... oh welll its all about "validation testing";
Would have liked to see yoou and Robbo fly in microlight 🙂
Microlight flying and me don't belong in the same sentence! you seen the size of me?? 🤣
Amazingly cool - Simon is a genius...
I know it wasn't the end that you were going for. But man was it funny. Hope you didn't damage the prop. It amazes me what you build, and it works.
Brilliant! Add some wheels and you have the perfect vehicle to move supplies from van to boat

Grumpy seagulls, complaining about the noise!😂😂😂❤
Great little boat ! ❤❤❤
Thank you 🤗
Put skis on the mount points and take it out to where there is snow. 🙂 Looks like it will do well on hauling stuff off of the boat.
That's a Frankenstein Project! 😂❤
As I watched this, I could imagine you building a hovercraft big enough to carry a half ton of stuff plus a couple of passengers. 😂 You’d have a blast with that, too.😎
So cool and i love it. Real boys and there real toys. Very well done.
Another great storey for the kids huh 👏👏👏
Too much fun to be legal 🙂 Great for shallow water or where there is weeds and stuff that would foul a prop.
Simon, I was impressed with the directional stability, those things are notoriously skittish about steering. Good fun to watch. 8-)
You guys are fucking amazing! Haven't enjoyed a video like this ever I think.
😂Air Boat build 2Cool .Merry Christmas to You n Yours from East Texas USA
Happy holidays!
That looks like a ton of fun.

Bravissimo.
Love the "safety squint". Ear defenders required also when out making noise LOL.
Good work and play!
Well done, angreat craft
i love a scrapheap challenge - good effort Si

Top Job chap 🤘
Gon yersel looks brilliant fun! 🙏
You could put a small adjustable horizontal trim tab to move the weight balance
Amazing job.
Put a screw thread on the nose so the pitch can be fine tuned for getting the trim of the boat just right. Looks fun and it's exactly what i would of done
Ice to take two items and but them together and you had fun riding it 😊
Fantastic!
Glad you like it!

A wonderful Christmas to the both of you and your family, Looking forward to the new year and your adventures.
A new direction for S.H.A. Airboats by Simon. A great use for that motor. Merry Christmas!
FANTASTIC idea.
That is a good use of that motor setup 😅😂
I have an old A drive single ignition 503 Rotax aircraft engine I was thinking about doing the same thing with. Make sure all the wood on that prop is sealed. Bugger will de-laminate, especially in your climate.

So' some spoilsport made a complaint about the noise, don't other boats with engine's make a noise where you are then!.
You know the people who buy a house next to a race track and complain about noise, well you get the same at boat yards!
