Imagine how angry Mother Angelica was in her lifetime against what she perceived was the progressive church? "But I say to you, whoever is angry with his brother, is liable to judgment." Thank God for Divine Mercy.
Things are difficult when they are seen as obligations or duties, but nothing is too difficult when it is out of abundant love, and it starts with love for God.
I am struggling thru Martin Luther’s commentary on St. Paul’s Epistle to the Galatians, but I think Martin Luther repeats what you are saying…first faith in Christ and then because you love Christ you do the good works(laws). He keeps repeating that theme… but you said it in a similar way. I know ML didn’t stay Catholic …. but he seemed to be a devout Scripture reader. It’s hard to get everything exactly straight…but I’m trying. ♥️✝️. This was another good sermon by Bishop Barron.
Shifting from a state of sleepy spiritual sufficiency to one where the heart is finely tuned to the Father’s will requires such a root level change that only being one with Christ makes it possible. Levis Shalom
Love to you Bishop Barron from Mexico - from an English Anglican and Catholic wife who love to listen to your common sense traditionalism and truth to unchanging Scripture. Thank you Padre
As I'm learning how to live as a Christian, it's easier to say these things than to live by them. To not lust in this day and age is almost impossible. But if that's what Christ has called us to do then I must. We aren't just called to listen but to act and become an example of Christ as I am slowly learning. Thanks, Bishop Barron for the sermon!
A beautiful sermon, Bishop Barron. It calls all of us to be more like Christ. It seems so hard most of the time. I know that I don't pray enough. As I grow older sexual thoughts are not as troubling. But prayer refreshes the soul and keeps me more in touch with Jesus and His goals for my life rather than my goals for my life.
It is a tough journey ... Reading the Bible everyday ... will guide you and keep you protected ... Always. May God be with you in this beautiful journey
Thank you Bishop Barron for clarifying in your Sunday Sermon, what it is to be saint in God's eyes and in our hearts!!! As we are all sinners, I thank the Lord that I can ask for His grace, His help after I repent, to not commit the sin again. And you are so right Bishop Barron about how abundantly Merciful is our God!!! That He knows our weaknesses and frailties and knows our hearts, when we are striving to follow His commands and knows how to correct us, when we fail. May the Lord continue to bless and inspire you Bishop Barron!!! Especially in your Sermons that help us tremendously!!!
I wept as you exposed the depth of my sins in the light of the new covenant. I rejoiced that the depths of my sins could never exceed the mercy and love of the Lord. You are such a blessing. Thank you.
“Truly, the Lord is waiting to be gracious to you, truly, he shall rise to show you mercy; For the Lord is a God of justice: happy are all who wait for him!” Isaiah 30:18
Wonderful sermon, as Catholics we should be proud of aspiring for perfection on our journey heavenward. This is our moral compass and makes the world a better place.
Thank you, Bishop Barron, for publishing your Sunday sermons early enough for Catholics in the Far East to watch, hear, and learn from it. Thank you very much! 🙏🏼
In my thoughts, in my words, in my actions - in what I have done and in what I have failed to do. These words are prayed in every mass, every day, all over the world.
What a brilliant and amazing teaching. Bishop Barron opens my eyes to the deepest teachings of Christ on a regular basis. An anointed man of God for certain.
Jesus and His church ask us to be perfect which seems impossible but then makes the Sacraments of Reconciliation and the Eucharist and the examples of the Saints available to us to make it possible for us to become saints. Thank you Lord for your Church and for Bishop Barron.
There is a distinction between those contending with imperfection and those who willfully want to “slip into the Church and use God’s mercy as an excuse to sin,” as the letter of Jude warns us… That’s why the first work of the Holy Spirit is Conversion…
Great sermon, dear and beloved Bishop 🌹. The messages and mission of our beloved Holy Father Francis is understood by very few of the catholic prelates, you are one among them to support and spread the merciful messages of our dear Holy Father. 🙏
How to deal with failure. How profound. To reach for God, To give our hearts to God and still know when our sinful humanity lowers us into sin, Jesus will find us there to bring us up again. What a gift. Infinite Mercy and Love. May we never separate from the Body of Christ, may we never separate from the Church. May we always know and see. May we never leave others behind. It’s all our sins, humanities, and since others can’t see, we need to help, with God’s grace, bring the sinful back up. May we show others Jesus will find us even in our dysfunction. To Never give up, never loose faith. Never loose Love. Let’s deal with failure, Ours and everyone else’s. Let’s help others with their crosses. Let’s help carry the pain so they can see Jesus. With God’s Love, Charity, patience, humility, joy, kindness, caring, with giving our love to others, to reach Jesus there. Heavenly Father, help us become one, help us love one another, let others see You in ourselves, help us participate in your eternal grace. We are yours. We are willing and and love you. Amen
Next time you are praying and you remember the groups of people who have asked you to pray for them please have me in that bulk list. Thanks. (and I pray your diocese is is successful in every good thing you attempt and more, all for the Glory of God)
My 1st time hearing you Bishop Barron, you have a gift of being able to articulate the message your are speaking on, I will be searching for more videos to listen to. Thank you 🙏
7 criteria for a just war and thus Bishop Barron can't think of one war that was just; not even the unialation of the Jews? We should have let Hitler have his way? I'm confused. All our WW II veterans died in an unjust war? Help me out, what am I missing here?

Not to belabor this...but the point is that along with free will, God also gave us brains to use to discern things. ...and avoid going blindly through life without questioning anything. Bishop Barron wouldn't want you to that either....so it's ok to question him if he says something you disagree with. He is human you know.
Thank you, Bishop Barron, for encouraging us to strive to live according to a higher spiritual law. The Church must not ever “dial down” the sublime reality that we are called to be saints.
Thank you once again Bishop for assisting me in understanding the Gospel. I so appreciate you sharing your insights every week. It always makes a positive difference in my life and how I aim to be a better person

"Yes we make a high moral demand" [of ourselves] and we insist upon the infinity of the Divine Mercy...." "To live in that space, is to live in the space opened up by the Sermon on the Mount." A beautiful teaching, Bishop Barron. Thank you and the whole Word on Fire team.
"Be perfect as your Father is perfect" always made me wonder. There's no way I can be perfect. But if Jesus said it, it must be possible. So how can I be perfect? Jesus is the only one perfect, so the only way I can be perfect is in Jesus himself! Bishop you had another video about being baptized. You said when we are baptized we are GRAFTED into Jesus and I believe you said "we are divinized", what a wonderful thing that is. So it make sense to me that I can only be perfect in Jesus because He is perfect!. Also, I might add, Jesus always spoke about the internal heart of the people. As you explained in the sermon on the mount, all those are spiritual words. If the Holy Spirit doesn't reveal those sermons, we are incapable to get it!
