Baba! Please continue to teach us about the beloved Iyaamis. I was moved last night at midnight to put liver under a tree. I did. I told them I don't know how to pray to them yet, but that I was moved to feed them.
Also, I will never forget the day I was praying earnestly to Yeye Oshun. When I opened my eyes, there were about 50 black birds in my front yard. It made me so happy. I still have the video of it!❤❤

“With the processes of Orisha we are not only receiving things, we are becoming things to a certain degree.” - Powerful statement that I will be quoting in the future. ❤

I really truly love this platform. It’s so reassuring to be able to rely on information that is accurate and honest. I also follow on TikTok and I’m really praying that this esteemed platform does not get mixed up in the chaos, and dramatic performance that takes place on TikTok. It’s really disappointing to see the way the religion is represented there sometimes. Anyway, thanks for all you to with humility, respect, and love for this tradition. You are valued. Iboru, Iboya, Ibocheche🙏🏾

Thank you for the great video as always. ✨✨
I'm not certain if this was discussed in another video or not. But when you said that the Iyami tend to congregate by the front and back door the 'superstitious' tradition of walking inside backwards when you get home after dark came to mind.
Could the Iyami have something to do with that?

As someone of 🇯🇲 background we walk in backwards after leaving a funeral/grave site. I now want to ask my family more about that.

Apologies if I misheard but in another video I believe it was mentioned that Oshun was the head of the iyami osorongo. If this is the case, is her position similar to that of Orisha Aje as you mentioned in this vid- iyami funfun?

If a male determined to be Oso through IFA, does this come with certain protections or is there typically more required with this being known?

The Divine feminine. Needs demystifying. Much of the Yoruba heritage is full of colonial superstition. My ancestors and family today speak of the Iyami with dread and fear and seriously all based on the colonialist and Samuel Crowther who also villified Esu. A proud YorubaGyal i have my whole life been consumed by the subject and finally step away from the suppression of femininity.

Babalawo in Isese have Iyami put on them ,the elder Egbe Iyami women go to the certain dimension to acquire certain objects and return to Earth to place it on your body !!!Naturally I can't tell you details and usually only Babalawos who are receiving Odu (the supreme efigy of Iyami ) undergo this ritual . But you can be a male and work with them as I do I was born with them but you still are a male and are restricted to certain rituals but you foster a healthy relationship with them when given their proper respect !!! If you aren't born with them leave them be !!!!They will HURT YOU !!!
