    Excellent. Thanks for this. I went looking for the TM content in the Engine and couldn't find it, then the Plugin content and couldn't find it. Didn't realize you had to turn on both Engine and Plugin to get it.

      Actually if you just need the Twinmotion content, you don't need the other plugin. ;)

    Great tutorial! Question: do you know if character path animations transfer over? Twin motion makes the process easy, while Unreal's is a bit more complex.

      @Cleverlike  4 місяці тому +1

      ATM the character animation do not transfer over.

    Hello! How can i install Twin content plugin? It's just doesnt exist for the last unreal engine version (5.3). Could you help with an advice, please?

    • @Cleverlike
      @Cleverlike  Рік тому +1

      At this time there it is not a plugin for Unreal 5.3. We have to wait until Epic updates the plugin.

    Thanks for the vid. When i go to the plugin content folder for Twinmotion Content Content, I have all the folders, but i only have a static mesh of a drone, a couple of textures and materials and thats it, no veg, no static meshes, no people. I uninstalled and reinstalled the "Twinmotion Content (beta4) plugin twice,......no dice. hmmm...poet.

    Will Datasmith sync any changes made in Twinmotion the same way TM syncs changes made in Revit?

    • @Cleverlike
      @Cleverlike  2 роки тому

      Good question. We don't use Revit or Datasmith in our studio so I can't comment yes or no. However, if/when you find out please leave a comment for the community. :)

    Thanks very much for the detailed video (and your responses to questions here!) I'm 90% of the way there. I created and saved a similar scene in Twinmotion (flat grass terrain that I sculpted, turned on an "ocean", trees, some rocks) then followed your video and imported into UE 5.1. The trees and rocks came in (even moving in the wind!) but most of the terrain I sculpted did not, nor did the water. Parts of the terrain where TM automatically changed from grass to rocks on slopes do show up, though?!?! My fundamental problem is not being familiar with UE, so any hint about how I might find or enable the terrain would be appreciated! Thanks!

    • @Cleverlike
      @Cleverlike  Рік тому

      We did a series on editing terrain in UE4, so it's a bit outdated (as of this writing) though it will get you up and running. And of course hit us up with questions as you have them.
      Video #7, #8 and #11 in this playlist will get you started.

    Thanks for your effort. From Twinmotion to Unreal everything works. Unfortunately, packaging those imported things to an Android apk doesnt work... An APK is generated and "Textures" are appearing but just those stupid squares with no real "material" on.

    I am having an issue with importing my twinmotion file into UE5. I installed both of the plugins (twinmotion content and datasmith twinmotion importer) When I got to enable the plugins the importer plugin does not show up. Only the content plugin. So when I go to import my TM scene it does not show up. Anyone else having this issue?

    • @Cleverlike
      @Cleverlike  2 роки тому +1

      I would try shutting UE and the Epic Launcher down, and reopening them. Plugins don't always update correctly without a full restart. Also, are you running 5.0 or 5.1?

    • @trevorball2422
      @trevorball2422 2 роки тому +2

      @@Cleverlike I am using 5.0.3. I will try shutting everything down and re-opening.

    at 4:20, mine do not have this Twinmotion folder in the plugins. Instead, I have 6 datasmith folders on it. I have installed both plugins like what you showed earlier. 😫😫 Also, I have an error that says "no valid twinmotion content plugin found" when importing.

    • @Cleverlike
      @Cleverlike  Рік тому

      Hmmm, that's strange. My next move would be to ensure that the plugins are compatble with the version of UE. Epic is updating them often enough that the versions of software can get out of sync.
      I do know they just added (as of this writing) a datasmith plugin that works with Twinmotion, but we haven't played with it yet.
      Anyone else having this issue?

      At this moment no, animated characters do not migrate from Twinmotion to UE.

    • @Cleverlike

      There are limitations to what Nanite can render in regards to materials as of this recording. Emissive and Transparent materials don't work as of this recording.

    Is it possible to do the opposite? From UE5 to Twinmotion.

    • @Cleverlike
      @Cleverlike  Рік тому

      Not in any easy way. You would prob need to export all the assets out of Unreal Engine as .fbx files, then import them into Twinmotion.

      @@Cleverlike basically how to start and completely finish the project in unreal engine 5 from Twinmotion

    • @Cleverlike
      @Cleverlike  2 роки тому +3

      That's a tall order. Even so, I have a few resources that will help get you up running. :)
      - This video will get you started with a model from Sketch Fab, and teach you how to apply and change materials in TM
      ua-cam.com/video/1IMbHIyffUc/v-deo.html
      - Next, this one will show you some ways to create custom materials in Twinmotion
      ua-cam.com/video/KastpI1-p-8/v-deo.html
      - Here you can get an idea of how to use Quixel Megascans to add more variety to the Twinmotion environment
      ua-cam.com/video/4HA3bb_--qA/v-deo.html
      - Then you can export to Unreal Engine
      - Once you are in Unreal, it's hard to suggest anything specific as "finish" is a LONG way down the line. And "finish" can mean a lot of things. Like, are you creating a game, or just a quick flythrough, or an architectural proposal, virtual production come to mind too, maybe you want to create lesson plans... The sky is the limit. So let me know what else you would like to focus on. :)

    Pls help me solve one problem🙏🙏🙏 When I import from Twinmotion into UE5, assets come into Content Browser without assigned materials. And if I put them to the viewport or migrate to another UE5 project I must assigne materials again. What is the problem?

    • @Cleverlike
      @Cleverlike  2 роки тому

      Hmmm, I've never run across the issue where assets from Twinmotion come to Unreal without their materials. My first though would be to check if all the plugins and software are the latest versions.
      Another thing to consider is that if you are applying materials inside Unreal, it is best to apply them to the static mesh asset through the static mesh editor. DO NOT just apply them the actors in the viewport. When the materials are assigned to a static mesh asset through the static mesh editor they will for sure migrate to another Unreal project.
      To double check if the materials are coming across when you are migrating an asset, the materials will be listed along with the static mesh(s) in the Asset Report window. ua-cam.com/video/yhrRQg24FGg/v-deo.html
