    As a casualty of statins (Type 2 diabetes - muscle damage in both shoulders and upper arm) I winced a little when statins were advocated as a solution to heart disease. A number of studies show that following a Mediterranean diet produces the same level of reduced cardiovascular disease mortality as statins , , , and does better in overall mortality than statins.

      Exactly! He talks about prevention when talking about smoking, yet he is all for heavy medications when it comes to adiposity. Strange, isn't it?

    What kind of Carbohydrates were found to be harmful? Processed carbohydrates like Sulphur dioxide processed Sugar? Refined carbohydrates like "All purpose flour" or polished rice? Partially processed rice OR Complex carbohydrates like broken wheat?

      He is based in Canada, he visits his hometown in Kerala once in a while. My uncle is married to his sister.

    I agree but there is evidence that cholesterol is associative and not causative and low cholesterol decreases brain function.

    Sure lowering cholesterol without searching WHY it is high to begin with is stupid!
    Find the cause, do not combat the symptom!
