Queen Victoria did. Queen Victoria claimed that Queen Alexandra was ‘a bad mother’ because she took her child on a trip to Denmark with her after medical professionals ensured to Queen Victoria it was fine for young Princess Louise to take the trip. Queen Victoria was horrid to her.
Knew wrens in Sandy Point NS, who knew Queen Alexandra and they had carnations ceremonies for her in 1925. They stuffed the carnations into insulation in the walls of the old royal navy lifeboat and medical reserve premises walls as insulation between sheets of sail canvas. The pmq had been built by them in 1910. It had very basic electrical wiring too. Simple lives, and they loved Queen Alexandra. Most never married and remained Royal Navy Special Forces until 1975. Were ambulatory surgeons and stealth divers, projects metallurgical engineers too.
The late Princess of Wales thence Queen Alexandra , was an exemplary lady of kindness, goodness and stoical fortitude. Her husband Edward VII was also an exemplary man and too short lived as King. That he “ indulged “ in both food and “other “ matters was more to do with a the form of solace which He sought due to an over bearing mother and jealous of position and popularity - Queen Victoria. As is said not only does the “ devil find work for idle hands “ but he was reduced to seeking a form of solace to overcome his mother’s emasculation of him . Indeed they did love each well , fondly, devotedly and truly. We lost a wonderful King and Queen far to soon because of his somewhat premature death . And on another note , I very much doubt that WW1 would have happened has he lived some years longer . Edward VII was not the philandering wastrel that some historians would have us believe . Furthermore, one only has to look at the Royal Family today , to see how far they have fallen from flawed but real probity and support of the British Isles. Imo
...history as it's made. These clips are invaluable! Thank you for sharing, and I hope that she always rests in peace.
Utterly beautiful on the outside and kindness personified on the inside. Nobody ever had a bad word for Alexandra
