Dude was in a hurry, eh? 55 through Trout Creek, passed on a solid yellow at :40s. ;) So nice to see though. Was a few years before I was born but travelled those roads a lot as a kid! I see a 60MPH sign in Westbank, so maybe Trout Creek wasn't reduced speed yet. Was hoping to see a glimpse of Old McDonald's Farm or Bedrock City, but I guess they weren't up yet either? ;) Thanks!
We have learned that the driver was instructed not to let vehicles linger in front of the vehicle as they would obstruct the view of the road, which explains some of the speed and passing. Bedrock City would be cool to see, wouldn't it? Thanks for your comment. Glad you enjoyed it!
@@MinistryofTranBC The speed and passing seems really standard really not much different from how most locals drive in the BC interior. Speed limits seemed different then too faster in some places than they are now slower in other areas where theyve been since increased because of upgrades or a town dying or relocating.
Yes I also noticed the extremely stark contrast between the unrecognizably intact forest, tree-dotted orchards and grassland of yesteryears, vs today's sprawl encroachment in W. Kelowna/Westbank.
this is soooooooo awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!! but yes, i would like it to be a littel slower too in order to be able to recognize things easier, i love love love!! my mom and all my relatives are okanagan.... its beautiful
Slow speed in top right hand corner. I was 11, didn't do road trips till I was allowed to go with Aunt Vi in her Herald Triumph convertible. Grew up on a farm in Alberta, my parents never took vacations with us.
We heard your feedback and have re-released our latest BC Road Trip Time Machine in its entirety at 20% of its original speed. Bring on the cool vintage car-spotting and old sign reading! ua-cam.com/video/NqvHt2UllZk/v-deo.html
garfunkel Hi Garfunkel! This video has actually been slowed down to 30% of its original speed if you can believe it! You can pause on any one scene you find interesting if that helps!
+garfunkel its frame by frame so slowing it down doesn't help much (for car spotting) but if you search "how to slow down videos on youtube" on your search bar a video comes up that explains it pretty well. its just changing your version of youtube to a different arrangement.
There is a gear icon on the bottom right of the UA-cam screen. If you click on it you can view it at different speeds. Hope that this helps. Thanks for watching!
What's the point! He blew right past my childhood, corner of Harvey (aka 97) and Water. In 1968 the aquatic center burned down.. that was the end of Kelowna's golden era. It's since become an international hell hole stinking of nouveau riche. 😆
Thanks for the fun drive passing everything that he catches up to.
Mind blowing
Wow Kelowna looked so nice. Not like today’s hell hole
It's still beautiful, but its not as peaceful and relaxing as it once was.
Very cool film !

Obviously couldnt go full out on camera either but I dont think "Flying Phil" would have been very happy to see the photolog driver dawdling.
Wow, unspoiled land where the never-ending strip mall otherwise known as West Kelowna is and there's almost no traffic! In JULY!!
Tony W Ah 1966 - a very good year...

I found the three dots at the top right of the screen, touch them and you get a box with play back speed as one of the options. Hope this helps!
Larry Johnstone , thanks for the info on changing the speed! Slowed it right down 🍻

Wow, so weird not to see the connector overpass. And Westbank practically didn’t exist lol
Did anyone else still hear the sound of the lift span as the car went over it on the bridge into Kelowna?
66 i was 8 yrs old.

Kelowna before it became a concrete jungle.
Cool. Could’ve used some music or something to make it more enjoyable though
The year we moved to Westbank from Kelowna
