This boss was the best in the game imo. Dude was the main villain for the first act, his motive was extremely personal, and he was always one step ahead of Spider-Man. In his boss, the both of you fight on the rooftop 1 on 1 while trying to protect Jameson while the triumphant main theme plays. I prefer this over the ps3 version since you actually defeat Carlyle. It even screams final boss. Carlyle was such a fantastic villain for a one off character only in a game, and it makes me wish that his Mad Bomber interpretation makes it into comics as an official rogue. He's got so much potential

there is a similar Gang in the Spider Man New Animated Series 2003, they arent the same Guys but they are very similar it was the Pterodax Gang in the Animation Version.
Something I like in the non HD versions of the game is both Spider-Man and the villains quotes change depending on Spidey's costume.
Yeah, they should have kept that in the Xbox 360/PS3 versions of the game. I also hate the fact they added 2 villains specifically for the PS2 version. It should have been in both.

I know that. But when it comes to games being released on multiple platforms, the next gen versions are the ones that get everything while the older gen gets a downgrade.
The PS3/Xbox 360 version had way more missions, new game plus, and better combos to execute. It's just odd they gave the PS2 version some exclusive missions over the next gen versions.

@@theenigmaalie2792 The suit can kill Spider-Man if you leave it on for too long iirc. It's been 10 years since I played this so I might be wrong.
This honestly should have been in the Xbox 360/PS3 versions. This in my honest opinion is the best part of the PS2/Wii version.

What happened to your red and blue Spider-Man ? tread to Black and blue .
I played the ps2,Wii and Xbox 360 versions of this game.
MR.SAINT AVENGER What are the differances between ps2 and Xbox 360 versions and which one is more recommended.
The PC (Which is 99% similar to the Xbox 360 version) has extremely better graphics, animations, mission quality and enemies (it has even a female goth gang which are called "Arsenic Candy") and some different bosses.
Like in this version Morbius and Shriek are exclusive to this version and don't appear in the PC version, but there's Kingpin.
The black suit in the PC version works differently, has a ton of different moves (compared to this version that has its own moves that are pretty much the same.
The gangs have their own storyline and final boss.
So the PC version has:
1)Carlyle

3)Goblin "Harry"
4)Scorpion
5)Venom
6)Rhino
7)Kraven
8)Sandman
9)Dr. Lizard
PS2\Wii

The PS2 is more straightforward and has extremely repetitive missions, but it has one mechanic that i like the most that the PC version doesn't have it, the black suit

@@arbiteras Spidey looks good along with a few villains/enemies and the city is beautiful but, most the models look bad even compared to ps2/wii. A lot of the animations look ackward especially in some cutscenes (Although the last gen versions have some of the same cutscenes cause budget and time restraints.) Arcenic candy was the worst gang imo but, that's subjective. And I honestly prefer the villan line up in the ps2 version. Morbious and shiek is easily the best storyline in the game. The swinging is honestly better and feels a lot faster. The combat is simple but, effective and the boss battles are better. Sure they aren't super challenging but, at least they aren't ridiculously difficult like kraven. It doesn't have quick times which is a plus and has a full skill tree. Being able to switch between the red and black suit at will is great and it's cool after wearing it too long it starts to take over. Rage mode when you wear the suit for long period of time is awesome and better than the other versions. The city will actually be effected depending on how controlled it is by gangs. If it's too overtaken it looks dark dirty and vacant but if you clear up some gang related stuff it looks a lot brighter and full. Both are enjoyable play throughs but, I've always thought of the ps2 version as the better and true sm3 game experience. 1 year late lol.

I really enjoy this game but the thing I'm against is the sound of the web, the second part of the movie game was more almost kinda wet style while this has solid style, I prefer the web from.spiderman 2, still great game

Ps3 version only has better graphics other than that its combat and missions are terrible in comparison to ps2
I bought the game but its in french, theres an option to change the language?
1 thing I dont like about the ps2 version is that you don't get to keep the black suit as a reward for completing the game cause on the ps3 platform you can unlock it but ps2 na... sucks!
If you collet all 50 spider emblems after beating the main storyline you can unlock the suit again.

***** Haha, yeah it's a shame Treyarch (or whoever developed this game) lost interest in previous generation consoles at the time. I remember loving Spider-Man 2 on PS2 as a kid, then getting this game and having it look and play like shit.
tyspyranger Yeah, but this wasn't even Treyarch's fault. Treyarch only developed the PS3/Xbox 360 version. The PS2 was made by vicarious visions, a studio that's known for doing lower platforms when the main studios is developing for the new consoles.
The only thing I couldn't understand is, instead of making the gameplay worse, why didn't they just simply copy and paste from Spider-Man 2? Have the swinging the same, the gameplay except add some new combos, and keep the story the same. It would have just overall made a better game for the lower platforms instead of this product they put together.
***** Exactly. Even if it was the same game, it would've been fun to play, because this game is dreadful. I didn't know that this was developed by another studio, that makes a bit more sense because I couldn't imagine Treyarch making this game.
tyspyranger Yeah, this type of thing happens all the time when companies try to release the game on all platforms. This is why people usually try to avoid lower platforms because they know the main studio is only working for the new systems.
But to be honest, this isn't even the worst game.
Did you ever play Spider-Man: Web of Shadows on the Xbox 360/PS3?
If you did, it was open world with some cool combos and a decent story. It was also developed by Treyarch and another studio called Shaba Games.
They must didn't receive any money for the PS2 version because you got a cheap 2.5D side scrolling game with no free roam, combos or anything else. It was basically like playing a an arcade game.
