The eight-legged population is overrunning parts of Balboa Park a bit earlier than usual this year. Spider season is in full bloom in San Diego.STORY: bit.ly/2xoBmS9
When i was young i spend my whole day on mountain to catch orb weavers, as part of kids entertainment. Its a nice adventure really, and we realized how fun and previous generations compared today that they get to fear on orb web..
Haha days on forest and nights as well with friends is the best I still wanna go with old buddies if they were here even just one night to just remember the old days
I use to have an orb weaver on my porch. She was awesome because having her around there weren't any mosquitos and moths so I was always able to sit out on my front porch because of her. Also gave me a greater appreciation for spiders in general.
People are right, they don't bite, unless you walk right into them which you are bound to do at night cause they make 5 foot webs and they're the size of a half dollar. Absolutely the worst part of this time of year in southern California.
I think I’ve identified a big orb weaver in my window cil it’s freaking me out a bit, I know from the comments that they are not harmful to humans, but yesterday I found 1 and now I’ve seen 5. It’s freaking me out. I think I also found their egg sacks, can anyone offer some advice? I’m from Florida in the US.
Once when I was a child, I was so afraid of spiders, but when my friend encourage me to make it crawl on my hands, I was amazed, it feels tickly and nice, They only bite when they feel harm, pressuring part of their body, but their bites is not painful, all orb weavers are kind, Well for me, it okay that you don't agree with me, I would keep it, there are some good stuff when it lives near your house, it hunts annoying flies and mosquito. And if maybe you can't handle it, and theirs a lot of them and you're uncomfortable you can destroy their house and just let them be, they move on another place so their house won't be disturbed anymore. I hope this will help, although I'm pretty late I love spiders
@@kylemilan3654 appreciate the thought. All the spiders have about cleared out by now. But I went through a total of 8. They started to disappear this past summer. I did have a visit but this other yellow-ish spider with long legs. I don’t remember the name but they were all harmless. None of them got inside and since my window cil is broken, I didn’t mess with them. Thanks for the info, maybe it will help me this incoming winter if they come back.
Im used to these kinda bites cuz i let an orb weaver spider bit me anywhere......BUT DO YOU KBOW WHATS MORE TRIGGERING?! THEIR WEBS HANGING ON EVERYWHERE
I have a spider like that as a pet here in the philippines and the vid said they are poisones but i have spider like that and i got bit 2 times and i did not die because THEY ARE NOT POISONES!!!!!!!!
The more orb weaver a place have, the more it is safer in dangerous virus carrier insect a place is. Thats why we have tons of dengue, malaria, etc.. cases here in the philippines. We love to hunt orb weavers hehe.
It's kinda tradition I admit when I'm younger I hunt those as well almost every one does in our country since we see them as our toys when we're younger
Those spiders are common in the philippines and they don't tend to bite in Fact! this spiders are great to have a little fight and its kinda entertaining!
Multiple comments from multiple viewers remark, "here in the Philippines we hunt these spiders. It's tradition here." Can anyone elaborate? Why do they hunt spiders in Philippines and what do they do with them?
@@20PINKluvr thanks for replying. What people do in their spare time never ceases to amaze me. Some learn a musical instrument. Others engage in Artistic Endeavors. And, apparently, some people snatch bugs and force fight them to satisfy some type of sadism they harbor.
Well when I was young I used to have more then 40+ of them and of course the others as well in our country kids and younger teenager hunt them on spider Season and take care of them and of course spider fighting is popular in kids here
Type spider derby here in youtube and you'll see what we do with orb weaver here in the Philippines.... Maybe it's a treath to you americans but not on us Filipinos😆.... It's a pet and a hobby at the same time.... Orb weaver is the most fearsome of all spider species I guess so instead of fearing them we hunt them and bring them into a hobby of spider fighting which is cheaper than cock fighting😆✌️.....
i will teach u how to go about those spiders. u put them on a stick and you bet on them. that simple those spider will kill each other in less than a minute.
The newscaster called this spider an "insect", that it is incorrect. Spiders are arachnids.
