I think that IS NOT a very Intelligent decision to take off the driver's or any other passenger's HEADRESTS{*}NOT only for this crash tests but also at any time at all since those HRS{*} are active 🤔r passive safety features of OBLIGATORY{ MUST}USE at all times!. Headrests are NOT just {uncomfortable 🤔😡} ornamental pieces!.

They have a seperate test for evaulating whiplash.

Vehicle head restraints are evaluated separately in a rear-impact sled test.

They take off the headrests so the camera wont block the view of the driver since the video is also used by engineers. And also they have a separate rear impact test for the seats and head restraints
